evening all!!
chicken simmering in greek style marinade, broccoli and mashed potatoes tonight.

Yummy, I made your dinner tonight, steak, salad, potato pancakes. I actually thought of you while I was picking out the steaks.

Before the game we were just saying that we wanted to look respectable. And we(7 of us) had made a pack that when Fl got 50 points ahead we were out of there. It was as big a shock to us as it was to the Gator fans when we scored. Then we kept it up, but very nerve racking at the end when the score was tied. We have lost almost all our games during the 4th quarter, I don't understand why we can't play for 60 minutes instead of 30 each game. Needless to say we were thrilled at the outcome. Now if ya'll can get rid of a few LSU players we would appreciate it!

LSU beat us up bad...(VA Tech)...we are the ESPN evening game this Sat at Clemson. I am afraid we will get beaten bad. Tech benched the quarterback (Glennon) during the LSU loss and have gone with the freshman quarteback (Tyrod Taylor) so far the rest of the games. He has won every game....but Clemson will be a real test. This is the first true freshman quarterback Beamer has ever started in 20 years at Tech. It hit me how young this kid is (Tech is # 15 in the polls this week) when I realized his birthday is the same as Daniel's, August 3rd, 1989. He just turned 18. He is in 2 of Daniel's classes!!

So here's our trip. :goodvibes I picked Tyler up at 5am from his dad's and we were on the road by 5:10. We threw him in the car in his pajamas, just transfered him from his bed to the car, in hopes that he would just stay asleep for a good part of the drive. No such luck. That plan backfired and he was awake the whole drive (except for an hour from 6-7am), but that wasn't a bad thing. He absolutely loved the drive and didn't complain a bit. Not even once did he ask, "How much longer?"

The drive should have taken about 9 hours, but it took 10 hours because I couldn't go longer than 2 hours between bathroom stops. Darned small bladder! And we had a longer stop about 1/2 way at a Walmart so I could walk around and wake up a bit.

We didn't go straight to my brother's house because my dad had called me and advised me not to since the place was very hectic with people setting up for the wedding. So we went to my dad & stepmom's hotel to change for the wedding and all rode over there together.

The wedding went perfectly, the weather was absolutely beautiful, his pool looked pretty with rose petals and floating candles in it, the food was great, and Tyler behaved. The funniest part was when he told my dad he looked like a weatherman! :rotfl2: Tyler meant it as a compliment, of course, but it cracked everybody up!

After the wedding, when the rest of the family was inside for the night, Tyler decided to ask my brother and his new wife what he could do to help them clean up outside. That's my good little guy! He helped (and I did too) until everything was all cleaned up.

Oh! I almost forgot! At the end of the wedding reception my brother had TONS of giant fireworks that a friend of his set off in his back yard. His yard goes way back to a river, then on the other side of the river is a mountain and the echo off the mountain was amazing!

The next day, the whole family went out for breakfast together. Tyler got a kick out of riding in my brother's Hummer! A few of us went to return the tuxes, part of the family headed back to Michigan, then we spent the day hanging out at my brother's house in his pool. We all swam just about all day until dinnertime. We just hung out at the house all day, having a relaxing time. I spent lots of time lying on a comfy chair in the shade by the pool, listening to the waterfalls splashing into the pool and just relaxing. :goodvibes Very nice!

Later that evening is when my brother took Tyler and a cousin for a ride in his Viper. I was really surprised he did that because he usually won't let kids get closer than about 5 feet to that car. Both of the little kids were sitting together in the front seat (I know....illegal....but he was only driving around the neighborhood). His driveway is quite long, long enough to get going pretty fast, so he gave the kids a thrill by revving the engine and peeling out pretty fast....it was funny to hear both little kids squeal with excitement! :rotfl2: My stepmom took a picture of the kids in the car, so I hope it turns out. She doesn't have a digital camera, so I'll have to scan it and post it.

More coming........

Sounds like so much fun!! I am glad you had a nice time.

My brother is getting married in 3 weeks......

The next day was Monday and everybody left my brother's house, including the new bride & groom for their honeymoon. We hit the road, found a hotel somewhere in Kentucky, and headed to the Newport Aquarium. Great place! The photographers are very sneaky. They're lurking everywhere and they capture great moments because your'e so involved in what you're doing & seeing that you don't even realize your picture is being taken. They got a shot of me holding Tyler's hand while he touched a starfish, a picture of us petting the sharks, 2 pics of me with the lorikeets, and a couple other pics which I can't remember. I was tempted to buy them all, but settled for just one. After the aquarium, we walked around a really neat area on the river (or actually, it was called Newport on the levee). Fun place! http://www.newportonthelevee.com/gallery/

Headed back to the hotel and turned in early.

Tuesday morning, after a nice breakfast at the hotel, we headed for Ohio Caverns. http://www.ohiocaverns.com/photos.htm

After hearing Tyler talk to his teachers today and to his dad when he picked him up this evening, I think this was his favorite part of the trip. It was a 45 minute tour, very interesting, and our guide got a kick out of Tyler's excitement and curiosity. This was a bit out of our way, so it was a very long drive home afterwards, but we had a great trip overall! Tyler was a great little traveler and behaved very well and now he has lots to talk about for quite some time! :thumbsup2

Angie:

So sorry to hear about your uncle's wife. I'm keeping your whole family on the top of my prayer list for comfort during these difficult times.

We all WANT that cruise......for now, take the spa day....and take Molly with you!

:cutie: :thumbsup2 :cutie:

oh no, spa with Molly is fun, but by myself is heaven....I did get out for a pedicure and adjustment from the chiropractor (not really the spa but a close 2nd in my world)

Sounds like a good trip Holly, thanks for sharing the details :goodvibes

Now I definitely can't weigh myself for a LONG time because I ate almost nonstop in the car to help keep awake. Lots of sugar and caffeine. :guilty: Oh well....plenty of time to get back on track. :thumbsup2

So excited . . . . . . no patients for 11 days! I truly enjoy helping folks, but it will be a nice break. Unfortunately I do have to bring my laptop for my Anatomy class. The class has an essay and a lab to turn in while we are on our cruise. Lab's are easy to grade, but essay's take some time. Hopefully it won't be to labor intensive.

We leave tomorrow morning on a flight to Tampa. Never been to Tampa. It doesn't look like too bad of a drive into WDW.

We are all packed and ready to go. The anticipation is keeping the girls from sleeping at night. Looking to book the double dip end of Sept 08, or the first Eastern in Oct 08 while on board. That will mean THREE Disney cruises in the span of 12 months! How cool is that?!

Have a wonderful time! The drive from Tampa is very easy and direct (unless there's construction). I've flown into Tampa for several of my WDW trips (better SWAir fares many times). We even stayed a day or two at Clearwater Beach a couple of times....very lovely. ::yes::

Nan, I'm so glad you were able to get at least a taste of heaven. Every little bit will help during these hard times.

who knew dogs would be so expensive!! I can't find many in Florida....there is a breeder in Ocala that may have some soon but the other is in MT - (is that Montana?)

$1700 for two (that's with a discount) and $360 for airfare...we could take a trip for that!

Is this for Labs V? If it is a reputable breeder, that's not too bad. Are you thinking about getting two at once? One thing I read about getting two at the same time is that there is a danger of them bonding more to each other than to you. Our breeder also told me that if you wait until the one is more grown and housetrained, that the second one will actually learn what is expected more easily.

Lexi was almost as much as what you are paying for two - minus the shipping. We drove to the breeder about an hour away.

MT is Montana. I think where ever you buy your dogs, you want to meet the breeder, see the kennel conditions, meet the sire, if possible and the female that is whelping the dogs and talk to other customers who have purchased puppies through this breeder. Check the breeding lines with the AKC to make sure the dogs are not too in bred and find out about any health problems in the line.

OK, so the Phillies lost to the Rockies today, after the Rockies had to play that amazing 13 inning playoff game. Dbacks and Cubbies get it on later tonight in Arizona.

Tomorrow night the Indians and the filthy Yankees. Did I tell you guys I HATE the Yankees? Did I mention this? The Yankees have a 200 million dollar payroll. The Indians payroll is 62 million. The Indians, Rockies, and Dbacks are all in the same salary ballpark, and the other teams are in the stratosphere.

I am going with a buddy to the game tomorrow - a friend that was in our wedding. Can't wait, because . . .

IT'S TRIBE TIME NOW!

YUP, I paid $1500 for Angel and drove to Mass. to pick her up.

The good news is.........Angel is home tonight! YEA....I have really missed her....although Ella is not all that happy about it.

She's still my baby and oh my how much she has grown....she doesn't look like a puppy anymore. I'll try and take some pics over the weekend.

This was not my experience. We loved having male sibs from the same litter. They were extremely loyal to us but always had each other for company when we were not home during the day or if we went on a trip. They trained together, slept together, ate together and loved to both lay under my computer desk when I was on the computer.
