does anyone have any luggage recs? I am looking for lightweight and inexpensive....!

I just ordered an Eagle Creek rolling duffle bag. It only weighs 5lbs. It's not too expensive but not real cheap. We have Delsey which is suppose to be one of the lighest but when we checked the weigh it was 10 lbs for the large one. Make sure and have it weighted at the store, you will be surprised at how much they weigh!

Well, into day three of my 'official' weight loss plan. So far so good, though I did have a bit of bread with dinner and that's not in my plan. THANKFULLY, Peg and I were dining with the lovely and talented GATORFAMILY, so there was lots more talking than eating going on. We jabbered away for 3 HOURS...I thought they were going to throw us out of the restaurant.

I am awake early today...I'm good this morning...the legs still sting a little, but it's manageable...John did a great job of wrapping them last night, so it helps.

Mmmmm good breakfast...I'm drinking my coffee now and then I'll be having some Nutrisystem eggs. Then I'll get ready to go out for the appointment with the lawyer today.

I can get 14 outfits for myself and my DGS including undies, 4 bathing suits each and 2 extra pair of shoes each in one of these duffles. They are very strong! I refuse to do laundry on vacation so I may have to get another one since we will be gone for 22 days. I think my DD needs one too! Sounds like a Christmas gift to me!

V- I just bought a set of cheap luggage at BJs. It was $60 for a 28”, 25” 21” and a duffle. It seems pretty lightweight too. Mom and I bought the same set in different colors. We looked into getting “lightweight luggage” but it was too expensive! I just can’t see spending a lot of money on luggage when the airport ruins our bags half the time.

Olivia is going to be either Piglet, Kermit, or Tinkerbelle for Halloween. We have all three costumes, but depending on the weather and what fits best we’ll see. I’m taking the Piglet costume for MNSSHP.


I WILL have my laptop onboard the cruise. I need to check in with my office at least once a day. That’s one of the problems with being your own boss! Checking in via email is a lot cheaper than by phone!



I was so frustrated with the Dis being down yesterday that I gave up trying to post at all last night.
I’m SICK! I’m being a big baby over a sore throat and sneezing/coughing. I’ll be alright though.
Otherwise, not much to report here. My sisters started school yesterday and that seems to have gone well. I miss the summertime schedule already.

There are things other than perscription medication for ADD/ADHD. I need to go to a different doctor.

They don't work for everyone and they might not be as "easy" as taking the pills, but here are certainly alternative treatments for most illnesses!

I am lurking here and reading but been busy working on the Lake house. Will try to make more time to post. I am feeling fine but still not 100%.

oh no she doesn't. I think it's the west coast fairy problem. and that award might just end up at my house.

Remember that tooth that Wilson lost placed under his pillow and the fairy didn't come and then the tooth got LOST in his bed (we did find it) we still haven't put it under for the fairy. (I've been so lazy lately)

Well today Paul and I had an appt with Molly's ortho to discuss her upcoming surgery (~5-6 teeth to be pulled) and low and behold she comes home today and she got one out at school today. YIPEE!!!! She saved us some big surgery $$$ I'm sure. If only I could hire out Taylor to get the rest outta her mouth. (they are adult teeth, she doesn't have enough room for all of them, big teeth kids in my family) The joys of being self employeed and not having dental coverage....I suspect this surgery will be in the range of $2K.

Tonight that fairy is flying up and down our coast and making a 2 for 1 stop in our house!!!! Oh I hope I have my coins I'm going to go check now.

p.s. the fairy figured out how to get Molly the new AG Dolls coming this weekend....surgery teeth make big bucks ($~20 or so per tooth)...5 teeth x $20 = an AG doll..... that's my math and I'm sticking to it.

there's one way to rationalize a new doll! Hope she made it last night.

OMG....they all look soooooo great. Since Taylor's just bit the bucket last weekend I think we need to buy a few new ones. I think she might just get the small nano, but I want one of each!

I am not sure if Naturopathic physicians practice here in Ohio . . . one of the owners of our company (he is now in his 80's) is a huge believer in natural herbs and cures.

Hate to ask, so just point me in the right direction . . . Do Natureopathic physicians have a different way of treating hay fever type allergies? Have had these since I was a kid, and the traditional medicines (antihystemines) are either becoming intollerable because of side effects, or ineffective. It is that time of year here in OH with ragweed . . .

No housecalls, unless there is a seahawks game involved! There are quite a few in Ohio and there are lots of other treatments for hayfever. Allergies are one of my specialities and I have great success with eliminating allergies 99% so people don't need to take anything on a daily basis! I'll PM you later with more info...

Definitely not! Mommies/tooth fairies are human too....we have an "oops" now and then. I'm sure by the time I'm typing this, the tooth fairy has more than compensated for the previous night and with reward in hand, the whole event will be just a memory for Jaide very soon.

Well, Dad turned the TF saga into a learning lesson Jaide decided that night that she was going to have a tea party in bed for quite a few hours after bedtime so he told her that th TF was here and that since she hadn't gone to sleep TF had to leave. So, she did make her appearance last night, but with no extra bells or whistles since it was her second attempt to catch Jaide finally asleep!!!!

the fairy flew in and out of our house too. it was fun to be woken up to cries of "she came, she came!" I would think that Molly knows the fairy is mom by now, but....perhaps she isn't going to go there.

Noel, I picture you walking around in the lake air. Hearing the sounds (ducking for the bats)...as much as I don't want to deal with mom's house up there Paul and I have been talking about going up there lately. I haven't been there since the boys (my newphews) 'cleaned' it out late last summer. I'm afraid that we still have alot to get rid of or bring back here. I wish we could find sometime to enjoy the moment, so I'll have to plan that into the visit. Enjoy the time up there and get well.

Off to work now, I've had a down and slow week, hard to get in the head for work. Tomorrow is mom's biopsy. Dread is around me. I hope I can get working and forget everything for a little while.

Thanks to you Nan and everyone for the kind thoughts about my health issues this summer. I flew home last night and am home back in the Bay area today as I have a bone density scan today.

SInce you probably won't make it up this year, we need to plan a "meet" at the Lake for next year. I will bring my GK's. I would suspect your kids and my kids would have a blast at the Lake, the tennis court and the golf course with all the activities. Memories like ice cream at the Pine Shack, bandshell concerts and so many other activities last for a lifetime.
