Current outlook is not good.....Dr. said today that mom is being weined off the ventilator and they will send her home with hospice care and then it's just a matter of time and it won't be long. Her kidneys are completely gone, she will dehydrate again quickly....she still has the urinary track infection and pneumonia....her heart is weak....today we got the results of a cat scan and it showed that there was some bleeding in her head.

We went through this with Shawn's mother at our home. It is an extremely sad, painful, frustrating, heartbreaking, and yet joyous process. It may have been the toughest thing we ever had to deal with. But, it was also the most rewarding. Please enjoy the time with her and don't leave anything left unsaid. Our prayers . . . .

Typing about Tyler's little ouchie got me thinking: I'm wondering how Kayla's little broken arm is healing? It was Kayla, wasn't it? Too tired to search back and verify.

Kayla met with the surgeon yesterday and everything is going well. It looks like she will be able to have her cast taken off on August 7th. Only four weeks for recovery. Not bad and she really has been great - except for not wanting anyone to know her arm is broke and hiding her cast with winter jackets! Mind you, we live in Arizona!

I had a couple of tough days of recovery myself. The first two days, thought I was going to crumble due to the pain. All is good now!

Well, it is raining again but down south the worst is now over with the flooding, though of course it is just the beginning of a long period of cleaning up for people. Authorities are having a problem getting water to thousands of people. There has been vandalism of the bowsers that temporarily hold fresh water - children opening the tap and letting it run, people urinating in the tank, and people draining them and then selling the water in bottles!! Human nature in it's worst form. There has also been bad behaviour when bottled water has been delivered.

There has also been many people helping their neighbours and showing the good side too.
