On the Eastbound Panama Canal cruise in '05, we had two formal and two semi-formal nights.

Woody

Thanks Woody....now I know what to pack. I'm going to assume that we'll be doing one pirate night and one tropical night. On the 11 night Southern we did both....so, I figure we'll do both again on this one.

:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo:

My nephew Robert Sandie who is the founder of Viddler.com went to Lehigh in Bethlehem and still lives there.

Does he need any computer savy staff? Both of my sons are looking for new employment. If so, who would they contact?

Good morning all! Welcome back to everybody who was traveling!

I feel sorry for all of you with those temps way over 100! Yikes! CRIKEY! (We've been watching the Crocodile Hunter movie a bunch--Tyler's first exposure to Steve Irwin).

We had some rain come through overnight and after that my migraine went away. It's crazy, but after somebody at work pointed out to me that some people's migraines are linked to weather, I started keeping track of it and sure enough, when I get a whopper of one, a day or no more than 2 days later there's a change in weather. Crazy, huh?! People have told me the change in pressure in the air does that, sort of like how people with arthritis can tell you a day or 2 ahead of weather change. And my dad's dog used to act squirrelly the day before a storm and the vet said it was the same reason. Strange! But whatever the reason, my migraine is gone!

We slept until 9:30am!!!! Tyler tried waking me up at 6am, but I told him just lie down with me for a minute and fortunately he fell back asleep for 3 1/2 more hours. :woohoo: We never sleep this late!

I asked my doc for muscle relaxers and she told me no since I don't get migraines too often anymore with the stuff I take to prevent them. Bummer. She's never really accepting to anything I say. Usually barely talks to me. Quite often when the appointment is done, she just walks out and it takes me a couple minutes to realize, "Oh, I guess we're done." :sad2:

Well, the parade starts in an hour, so we're headed out soon! :yay: Have a great day everybody!

Time for a second opinion or change of doctors?

Jan :earsgirl:

Edited to say: You already answered this question before I read it. Here's pixie dust that you get an empathetic MD this time!

Happy Anniversary Noel and John. How many years? It is our 38th tomorrow.

Enjoy the meal and fireworks.

That seems hot for California. Should be a lovely evening though.

Well done!

Nice to see you here Noel. Hope you are contuinuing to be well.

Our 38th Anniversary is in August!

Mix and match skirts and tops with different jewelry makes different outfits!
Jan :earsgirl:

That is what I am hoping folk think!!!:rotfl: Perhaps the black skirt will also do for the pirate night with appropriate white blouse and jewellery!!!:lmao: I don't think we will be too piratey though.

I may just try and get a little black dress, but I don't seem to have much luck finding dresses that suit me.

Will also need a couple of bigger sized items to cope with the end of cruise bulges!!!

Have a great day at the parade.....

Get a new Doctor.....if you're in pain, you need drugs. It's great to take the meds that prevent the migrains from coming often, but you still need a drug that will interact well that takes away the migraines that you still do get. This Doctor sounds like you should lose her and find a better one.:sad2: :upsidedow :sad2:

Thanks - I spent 5 days in DC for work - super hot! Flew back to San diego on Thursday (took 11 hours - delayed in Houston). Then worked Friday for 4 hours and flew to NC for 9 days. NC is where my parents and sister live. Spent the first part of the week at my parents. Then my sister and I went to a Scrapper's Dream Vacation. We spents 3 nights at a hotel where we set up our scrap stuff and could work round the clock. It was a great time - lots of fun - and I got quite bit of scrapping done!

We are headed off to see Live Free Die Hard this morning.

Happy 4th everyone!

Sounds like fun.....glad you're back.....enjoy your 4th!!!!:goodvibes :) :goodvibes

John and I are spending our anniversary (today) in Reno with friends. Plan to see fireworks and have a wonderful late dinner.

What a great anniversary date....fireworks everywhere!!!! Congratulations and have fun!

One of my outfits is a Mexican blouse from MEXICO at EPCOT and a white shirt made in tiers (actually from India and bought at Walmart but it looks Mexican).

To make it Mexican I wear Navaho Indian jewelry, a tie sash from Guatamala and use a Mexican blanket as a wrap.

To make it Caribbean I wear it with shell jewelry from the Polynesian Luau at WDW and other sources. I use a swim wrap as shawl.

For Pirate night I put a red vest and long black skirt over top of it. I hitch up the black skirt on one side to expose the white shirt like an under skirt or slip. The swim wrap goes around the waist, droopy on one side like an apron hitched up on one side. I have a wig I got--goodness knows where--that is long and black so I wore that in September with a pirate night bandana as a head band. I have some earrings that are skeletons--available at a bead and jewelry making store near me and the rest of my jewelry was old coins and old-looking beads on various old-looking chains--LAYERS of necklaces, bangle bracelets and a bunch of rings on many fingers.

A nice white lace blouse or shimmery fabric blouse and different jewelry makes the black long skirt into a formal night outfit. I do have a little black dress, A-line so it fits throughout the cruise (usually) so that goes for semi-formal night since it is knee length. Again--two sets of jewelry.

All outfits go with sandals, even the formal and semi formal ones--some nice black flat sandals--so I pack two or three pair of sandles and maybe one pair of sneakers but often do not wear them.

We need one suitcase for our Pirate outfits because DH has a Captain's outfit I made since he did not want to be a scruffy pirate. It has a crushed blue velvet long coat, britches, homespun shirt. One time he wore it with sandals and other time with loafers on which we made silver buckles out of duct tape. I wish I could find him nice pirate boots that were not too expensive or hard to pack.

We almost need another suitecase for our snorkeling stuff as we always bring out own. The rest of our clothes have to fit in the other bags. We have never done a two week trip so this will be interesting. We did do a week in London and Hagley for our niece's wedding in 2001 and had one carry-on sized piece of luggage each.

Our sons went to Spring Garden Elementary--the older one for the end of 5th grade and the younger for the end of 1st up to 5th. Then East Hills Middle School. The older one graduated from Freedom High School, Moravian College and got a Masters from Lehigh University--he is the one who got engaged on the WONDER and married on Fire Island in May. The younger made it to the end of 7th at East Hills and then we put him in Bethlehem Christian School because his unique perspective on the world and IQ (marches to a different drummer geek type kid) got him singled out for abuse from other kids at public school.

Just think--we might have been in the grocery store at the same time. SMALL WORLD:cheer2:
Jan :earsgirl:

VERY small world and getting smaller all the time....Tom and Kris DGS's started kindergarden in Spring Garden Elementary. They were living with us at the time. We could have passed each other by at any point along the way.:rolleyes1 :cool2: :rolleyes1

Thanks! I wish I could switch doctors. The plan I have assigns a doc to me. Fortunately she's retiring next month, so I should be receiving something in the mail soon telling me where I'm to start going when she's gone.

Good riddens!!!! Hope the next one is better!

Wow, you are inventive! I look forward to seeing you both. There is absolutely, say again, absolutely, no way I will get John to dress up as a pirate!:rotfl2:

Ah well, I have loved him for all these years and he sure isn't going to change now is he?

I hope the next one is better too! But I've lived with the migraines for close to 30 years, so I'm quite used to it. And with the preventative stuff, it's really only about once every 2 or 3 months that one comes that completely debilitates me. But I'll be really relieved to graduate and get a full-time job with insurance so I can have more choices. In the meantime, I can deal with a couple more years of what I'm used to dealing with.
