are you going tonight? We have ressies at 7 PM.

No, I got home too late from work so we had a quick bite at home and then went to the school for open house. I can not WAIT until all the construction is done. It is quite a mess. Lisa

Tomorrow night is PTO spaghetti dinner, talent show, and auction.

After the start of that, I have to leave because I am speaking at the dedication of our baseball field, to be named after our baseball coach of 34 years.

Are you doing anything in the talent show? I love spaghetti dinners! I always eat too much though. Lisa

Well, I have airline tickets to our MED cruise!!!

Air France (Dulles/Paris/Barcelona) $1079 per ticket!! The CAT 12 rates are awesome....anyone who was thinking about doing this vacation, it has now almost become affordable!!
As I said, we like Air France and have been to Paris many times taking the nonstop flight from LAX to CDG.

In economy class, they provide many "extras" like: free wine and champagne, goodie pouches (with eyeshades, earplugs, breathmints, moist towelette, etc.), an open galley midflight with sandwiches, snacks, ice cream, and beverages (just help yourself).

We go to Europe frequently (just got back last Sunday), and Air France is one of our favorite carriers.

YEAH!!!

HMB? Half Moon Bay? Are you thinking about moving or vacation home?? Sounds fun!
Lisa

we've been looking to move over for about 1.5 years now. We had a 2nd house from 2001-2003, sold it and immediately realized that we wanted to move over there full time.

we had been in an escrow in the area that we really like, but it fell thru. the sellers took our offer as a contingent, as their first place buyer wasn't closing on time. then the darn first buyer came up with their cash at the last minute.

we saw a few houses tonight that were ok. one in moss beach. we are thinking on it. it's a bit small, 2310 sq ft, 3/2. we really need at least a 4 bedroom or room to have an office added on. moss beach doesn't have a walk to beach, that is another draw back. I think Paul and I need to go over and look at it again to decide yes or no. I think we are leaning no right now.

oh well, the good news is that more things have started to hit the market after about 4-5 months of nothing.

late night for us, we stayed over to have dinner. yummy salad, pasta, and even dessert. i'm ready to sleeepppppp.

have fun all at Dland this weekend. I'll be thinking of ya :yay:

it's been tough since we keep comparing everything we see to the one that got away.

Great news and such a weight off your mind! Now you can really begin to look forward to your trip.

Have a great weekend all you who are meeting at DL. I'm so jealous. It will be great for you all to see each other and begin to get to know each other.

Overnight thoughts on our after cruise plans. Now planning on going to San Diego instead of SF. This gives us more time to then take an i nternal flight back to Orlando, a couple of days there to make sure luggage comes too etc and then catch the return flight back home.

Our biggest problem is that we live in the north of England and direct flights from your West coast only go to London, meaning a stop somewhere. Watch this space though as we may well change plans again!!!:rotfl:

Anybody have any particular plans for Sunday before the meet?

I am debating if I should stay over on Monday and Tuesday but curious if anyone else will be still there?

We will be going to DL/DCA on Mon, Tues and Wed. Sunday morning we have a character breakfast, then just plan to spend the day at DTD and at the pool before dinner. I really need to get packing! We will stay at a hotel by the airport tonight and fly out at 7:30 tomorrow morning.

:yay: Booked today and added the 10-night Med Cruise sailing of 8th August 2007 in a Cat 5 Guaranteed (waitlisted for a Cat 3) to our existing cruise bookings for summer 2007 .....
We're on the 11-night Med Cruise sailing on the 28th July 2007 in a Cat 3 (celebrating DD's :cake: 21st Birthday aboard) and also on the Trans-Atlantic Westbound Repo Cruise sailing on the 18th August 2007 in a Cat 3 (celebrating our  25th Wedding Anniversary aboard).
We were planning on spending the 10 night's between the two cruises in Barcelona but decided to stay onboard and use the 10-night cruise to celebrate our DD's July College Graduation (UK University).
DCL was amazed and said it's a record - we will be aboard the Disney Magic for 35 consecutive days (28th July to 1st September 2007)!!!
We are soooo excited :yay:

You guys will not believe this...I copied and pasted this from my MED THREAD.

This family will be on the Magic for 35 straight days!! This is unbelieveable!!

DH and I discussed where we would stay on the way to our dinner at Buck's I decided will be flying back on Monday morning with him. There is just so many loose ends to tie up before Sam's graduation next Sunday that I think I should go home. That being said, we decided to splurge and spent the night at the Grand Californian. Our flight is early Sunday morning so we will have most of the day in Southern California.

I am sooooo jealous!!! My dream trip is go around the world. I am hoping to do this when DH retires.

I'm also planning to do a world cruise SOMEDAY!
35 nights sounds like a good start though. The longest cruise we've been on so far was 15 nights and it was glorious! I can't wait to do it again next year!

Greetings from Anaheim!!:cool1: :cool1:

I got in just before midnight last night, pretty good time considering I didn't leave home until 5:30. Only one bathroom stop, didn't have to stop for gas or food.

Probably, I didn't think about the fire causing a haze until you mentioned it. You must have lived in CA before.
No, except for the first 3 months of my life! I consider myself a native Arizonan. But living northern AZ we get haze from AZ fires often.

....angel, I've been feeling pretty rubbish too....the pics and stories will hold until you're better. don't do anything for now except to sleep it off until you feel better. that's what I'm doing too. just take care of you and I hope that you'll be back to feeling good soon. :upsidedow
pixiedust: :grouphug: pixiedust:

Deb, hope by now you're starting to feel a lot better! You too, Angel!

Cheri, I've decided to take the 10 all the way to the 57 and skip the 60/91 interchange madness. Have a safe drive tomorrow and see you on Saturday.
It was a very easy drive! I think I'll go this way from now on.:thumbsup2

Can't wait to see the new POTC!! :cheer2: pirate:

Will have to have a 1 and 2 evening just before.:yay:

I've already bought my ticket to see it at 9 pm on Thurs., 5/24!:cool1: :cool1:

Yes....Saturday will be a madhouse at DLR and our pal NotSoLittleMermaid will be right in the midst of it! Is she a madwoman?...well, only time will tell!
:crazy2: :crazy2:
I've heard that on your deathbed you don't regret the things you DID as much as the things you DIDN'T do. Hopefully I'll have great stories to share on Sunday!:cool1:

Cheri, Peg and I will be there till Tuesday. We plan on hitting the parks on Sunday (especially CA for the last of the Food & Wine) and Monday. We'll probably do the traditional departure breakfast at Storytellers Tuesday morning before starting the drive home.

I just made a reservation for Sat night dinner at Luigi's D'Italia...family owned restaurant that got good reviews for pasta and sea food. Can't wait to check out someplace new.

I was wondering if we should have a 'rallying point' for Sunday, prior to 5PM, so we can do all our hugging and greeting before actually meeting at the restaurant (or at least some of us). There is the 5th floor 'patio' overlooking the swimming pool at the Grand Californian that might be a good spot for that (we wouldn't be disrupting too many people meeting there). Wadda ya think?

I'll be there (of course)!

It's cute, reasonably priced, and gets great reviews on TripAdvisor. I always recommend it to friends!
Re: Candy Cane Inn--I've stayed there, too, and thought it was great!

You know, the night we did this last year, I think we met at 6PM for dinner and walked through DTD and saw the fireworks from the plaza afterwards...so I'm sure it was more than three hours.

Sounds like a great idea!

Well, guess I'll mosey over to The Happiest Place On Earth  and scope out my spot for tomorrow.:goodvibes
Bye all!

How cool was that to write? :woohoo: I can't wait for next year and thinking the same thing..

I am sooooo jealous!!! My dream trip is go around the world. I am hoping to do this when DH retires.

We met someone who was doing a cruise around the world, but doing it in sections, not all at once. Next January they are cruising from Hong Kong to Australia via Singapore. I think they have done the Panama Canal.

Marilyn, I'd be happy to help you with San Diego. This is a website I think is a lot of fun and is good "regular" people's guide to San Diego--I think there's now even a discussion board, like you really need another one of those! http://www.localwally.com/

Oh thank you so much!!! I will have a good look at the link thanks.

I have spent some time today looking on tripadvisor and on the Southern California threads on this board. There are a few questions about San Diego and hotels. I am sure we want to go for 5 or so days but not sure of which area. Some help in deciding that would be lovely.

We go to San Diego often as youngest DD has been at the University of San Diego for the last four years. If you are looking for recommendations for hotels, let me know. Do you want to be on the beach, downtown, near Old Town or toward La Jolla?

We will be in San Diego from 5/25-30 for Sam's graduation. Our favorite hotel is the Del Coronado but we have stayed in many different hotels all over the San Diego area.
