Well, can't resist popping in just before I go out!!!:rotfl:

These elderly parents can take up so much time. Hope things go ok for her.

Thanks. Hope we have it under control now.

I am hoping to buy some smarter cropped trousers, a bathing cossie cover up, a nice top or two and perhaps one or two other things.

I LOVE THE WAY YOU EXPRESS yourself...I would say, a pair of capri pants, a bathing suit cover up, etc.

I love getting new clothes. It makes you feel great!

The weather seems strange all over. We are having just lovely weather at the moment!

Love the shoes and top. I wish I could wear something like that and not just boring t shirts!!

And so why can't you? After all that hooping, you can certainly wear something like that top instead of a tee shirt.

Have a great day.

:thumbsup2

Deb, wish I looked like the girl in the photo in that top!!!!!;) :rotfl2: Sadly it wasn't our cruise tickets that came in the parcel, just Mark's new memory card for his camera...now he can take over 1000 photo's....:cool1:

...But will she look as good as you do when she's your age?...sorry it wasn't the tickets, but Mark will be happy that he got his memory card.

Had a lovely visit with my friend, Katrina, very noisy and crazy as she has 4 girls aged 6, 9 and twins of 12! They're lovely girls so I enjoy seeing them all.

That was a quick visit...I guess with four little ones, you can't just hang out all day....

whenever you like Karen, just hop on that plane and we'll do tea at harrods....with a little shopping thrown in!:thumbsup2 Maybe all the 'champagne girls' can get together at harrods one day for a champagne tea one day....:dance3:

YES let's get on that plane and do that!

Hope you have a much less stressful day today Karen...sweet dreams!:wizard:

Marilyn, hope you got your holiday clothes! Not so sure I 'can' wear tops like this one really ....but I will anyway!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

You'll look fabulous!

we've been so lucky just lately! We were in WDW in December, then this trip April/May, then back again with the whole family this coming October....then again next May!!:cool1: :cool1: Can't believe I am so spoiled to go 4 times in 17 months!:rolleyes1 :yay:

OK now I'm really so very jealous....I would LOVE to do the Mouse that often. I would never unpack. Just keep buying new things and adding them to the suitcase.

It's just past 8am here and it's cold and windy and wet outside. I have to be out all afternoon today. Dread!!!

On the bright side, just three more weeks and we can make all the ressies for this trip, I can't wait!:thumbsup2

Now that sounds a great idea Deb!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Must start thinking about any ADRs we need to make for our October trip really...there will be 11 of us travelling so need to co-ordinate this!:thumbsup2

Have a good day Deb, hope your Mum is ok

I am so bummed we won't be there any time when that is being offered. Do you think it will become an annual event? V-did you go this year (or anyone else)? Was it fun?

I hope so - it is a blast....I am surprised that they are hosting it twice this year. I know Aug and Sept are low season, but with the free dining and the preschool things they offer I can't imagine WDW is that slow....!

Finally Friday!

wow:confused3 its really quiet on here just now.....

Just had a call from dd to ask if I'd actually put her laundry in the washer yet.... turns out she left her college ID card in the pocket of her shorts....that'll be the third new one she's had to have this year!!1:sad2: :headache:

Tell me, does it get better?:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Greetings from sunny (at least for now) San Diego. I got caught in one of the worst dust storms of my life while driving over here yesterday. I even pulled over for awhile, although most everyone else kept right on driving. Then it became a dust storm mixed with just enough rain so that every pass of the wipers turned into smeared mud on the windshield! I had to keep spraying the windshield with water just to be able to see. :scared1: That was a first for me. In AZ all it does is blow dust.

Today we're planning to go to an aquarium and maybe down to the beach for a walk.

Toodles!

Quick update about my friend - turned out that she didn't have the ok from Stanford oncology to go through IVF another month. Her oncologist misspoke or she misunderstood. She does need to start Chemo on Tuesday. She is very sad. Anyway, just thought I'd give an update. Lisa
So very sad. But I hope the chemo is successful.

Don't tell anybody this, but as someone who teaches at a University, sometimes the federal goverment and university don't communicate very well. Also, you may have an angel in student services who asked the fed to reevaluate your application and did not tell you. Sometimes there are really nice people out there.
I'd love to hold onto that thought! But I do know an angel somewhere was working things out for me. :goodvibes

Have heard of that school . . . always one of the tops in the nation - remember, this is football country. We get (not at the district I live in, but where Amy and I went to school) 20,000+ at one of the HS Football games every year - Massillon/McKinley. High School Football is HUGE around here.

This stadium will be for more than football though - all outdoor events on our HS campus.

What I like about de la Salle is it seems to also build character along with the emphasis on football. Both my nephews played football in college, Rob at Lehigh and Erik at Colorado State University.

Rob is one of the founders of vidler.com and Erik is a starting Nose Tackle for Colorado State University

That was Canyon and De La Salle that played in the finals right? We were pleasantly surprised at our local Canyon Cowboys this year. That is great your nephews are so successful.

Well I'm back from shopping. Had a good day but still not got some nice cropped trousers/skirt! Our fashion at the moment is really lovely, but not suitable for older ladies, and all the shops are the same! I managed to get a cossie cover up and a blouse, but after trying on nearly every skirt around, I came home empty handed and depressed because they are funny shapes, or I am!!!:rotfl2: They are also too long or too short.:confused3 Found a lovely white one, but the undies show through!! Fancied white linen trousers, but they have the same problem.

Ah well, there is always Monday!!!

Hope you all are having a good day, and that those with problems are getting through them.

It's the weekend tonight and I hope you all have lovely ones planned.

Cheri, that wet dust storm sounds nasty. Enjoy San Diego.:cheer2:

Yes, that is true, Canyon did beat de la Salle. My nephews have done very well thus far in life and the school is a big part of their success.

Both of my nephews were at de la Salle during the win streak of 151 games. Erik is mentioned several times in the book written about the streak, When the Game Stands Tall: The Story of the De La Salle Spartans and Football's Longest Winning Streak by by Neil Hayes, Bob Larson, and Tony La Russa.

Julie,

I heard there was an earthquake in Mexico. I hope all is well with you and your family. It did not seem to be so bad but it did sound kind of big. Let us know.

For those that have not seen the news yet:

Earthquake strongly felt in Acapulco, Mexico City; no damage or deaths reported
By Associated Press

ACAPULCO, Mexico - A strong earthquake shook southern Mexico early Friday, knocking out power in parts of Mexico City and Acapulco, swaying tall buildings and sending frightened people into the streets in their pajamas.

Civil defense officials in Mexico and the Pacific coast state of Guerrero, where the magnitude-6 quake was centered, said there were no reports of any deaths or widespread damage.

Dozens of buildings in Mexico City were evacuated amid reports that they suffered structural damage, and officials were inspecting them to determine if they were still safe.

Among them were a five-story apartment building that was leaning precariously and another graffiti-covered, art-deco apartment complex riddled with fissures. Some two dozen families, residents of both buildings, spent the night in the street or in their cars.

One person was injured falling down stairs trying to get out of a building.

The quake, which hit at 12:42 a.m. (1:42 a.m. EDT), was felt strongly from the Pacific coast resort of Acapulco to the mountain capital of Mexico City because it was centered inland _ 40 miles northwest of Acapulco _ and just 18 miles below the earth’s surface, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Many of Mexico’s earthquakes are centered at sea.

Several aftershocks followed, including one, pre-dawn magnitude-5.4 that was felt throughout much of southern Mexico.

Mexico City Civil Defense Secretary Miguel Moreno Brizuela said the quake knocked out power to about 20 percent of the homes in the city’s downtown district, and there were reports of outages in parts of Acapulco.

About 100 people from one community near Acapulco were evacuated to a park after a nearby water treatment plant reported a chlorine leak, civil protection official Nadia Vela said.

At the high-rise, beach-side Fairmont Acapulco Princess Hotel, hundreds of guests rushed outside, huddling on deck chairs as security officials used megaphones to urge them to remain calm.

”We flew out of bed. The building was shaking,” said Marcy Olsen, 41, a manager of gas stations in Grand Marais, Minn. ”I said, ’I think this has to be an earthquake.’ We looked out the door, and everyone was leaving.”

She was on vacation with her husband,

Brian, 46, and their 13-year-old twin daughters.

”Where we are from, there’s no such thing,” Brian Olsen said. ”Blizzards and cold, yes, but no earthquakes.”

In Mexico City, ambulances could be heard wailing through the streets amid reports that some people had suffered panic attacks. The capital is built on a sandy lake bed that shifts and shimmies, magnifying earthquakes, and many still remember the magnitude-8.1 quake in 1985 that killed some 10,000 people as it leveled parts of Mexico City.

Alfredo Sanchez, a 37-year-old construction worker renovating a century-old house in downtown Mexico City, was awoken by shouts from his co-workers to get up and take refuge under the concrete beams they had just installed in the old building.

”When I was lying down, I didn’t feel it so much, but as soon as I got up, I felt it,” said Sanchez, who stood outside on the sidewalk with his workmates after the temblor. ”For our own safety, we got out.”

Those are cute clothes. I found a store about 30 miles from me. I think I may check that out for our cruise. They look so comfortable and I love the colors.

Thanks for that link Noel. Those clothes look just the sort of things I would like. I see there is a store in Orlando, so I will be going there in November!!!
