is it DIS green???? :thumbsup2 :lmao: :lmao:

Did ya get it on sale ????:confused3

after one night of transferring files i gave up on my touchpad for things like that!!!! i went to walmart and bough a retractable mouse for $20...it just plugs into a usb port whenever i want to use it and i don't have to plug anything in when i don't need to use it! :surfweb:

I use a plug in cordLESS mouse. The cord was hard with the laptop. It was a bit of $$$ ($40 I think)

anyone doing any easter bunny good gift ideas?

We went to Borders last night and I passed to Paul (to buy without the kids looking) a balloon animal kit for Wilson....last time we saw a balloon guy he told us he started making them at 6 years old...needlesstosay...Wilson now wants to learn to make 'em too. Got Bunicula trillagy for Molly.

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you went to the $300 store yesterday. Laughed inside all the way thru it ($300 store) at the check out bill bill $343 Paul says "WHAT DID WE BUY?" he always says that. Had to tell him that this was the $300 store. He was not amused. I got 4 paperbacks (birthday gift to me) I'll let ya know if any of them are good ones.

Gotta go to work now,

That's what I use at work (but not a laptop).....I LOVE it! Hmmm....I might just have to buy one for my laptop at home too. Great idea! :thumbsup2

Nothing major from the bunny this year. Tyler fell in love with a 5 foot long rubber snake at the dollar store, so that will be in his basket. Probably some much needed new sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a couple new books, not sure what else yet. Easter snuck up on me this year, so this bunny will be doing last minute shopping when Tyler's at his dad's this week.

Hi Nan
Do let me know if they're any good. I picked up some great books at Borders a while back. One was called 'The Girls' about a pair of conjoined twins and was a wonderful book.

I read that one too. Loved it. When everyone was chating about the books they read I wasn't feeling posty. I'm a reader of anyhting that catches my eye. I also stay up until 4am to finish. It's like a drug. The best vacation is when I can have my late night reads :cloud9: Someone mentioned "salty piece of land" jimmy buffet. I've had it for over a year now and just can't find the groove. can you give me some inspriration to keep trying? I'm only a few chapters in but no hook yet for me, I keep putting it down. the other one I lovedddddd was "time travellers wife" I want more, I loveeddddddd it. I think the more hop all over the place a book can go the more I enjoy figuring it out. I also have a great mind's eye. The movie version is NEver as good as what I saw in my minds eye.

ok, really gotta go to work (got sucked in by the view on tv)

not much in the basket this year...disney pins for trading and some disney dollars - which I have to go and get and maybe a bit of candy.

Maybe I should hit the Disney store for basket goodies. OR maybe this would be a good way to tell Tyler about our November cruise! He just asked me yesterday if we can make another chain like we did last year to count down the days until we cruise. But he doesn't even know about the November cruise.......I guess that means he's Disney-spoiled if he just assumes there will be another cruise! ;) Maybe I can put a small picture of one of the ships inside a plastic Easter egg. Hmmmm......any other ideas?

Granmaz: What type of puppy do you have? I have a 6 month Chihuahua and the potty thing is still going on. Stands outside for 10 minutes doing nothing then comes insides and pees. Silly puppy!

I leave for WDW on Friday - gotta get my fix!

Sounds a lot like our puppy Cordelia, I swear she is driving me crazy. I don´t know if she will ever be potty trained (at least she has learned to poop outside most of the time).

champagne_girl_1.jpg

here you go, Deb...our new logo.....The Champagne Girls!:cool1:

That logo is awesome!

I have to admit I skipped 20 or so pages...there's no way I could go back and read from 689 to 715...UGH

I like the idea of the champagne girls, though...I'd join that group! :drinking1

Did you guys read about the bed bugs on DCL? EWWW. I am all itchy just thinking about it.

EEWW bed bugs, I am so :scared1: about finding them on our upcoming trip to WDW!

I'm really not at all surprised by the bedbugs.

Because of a case that was handled by one of the lawyers in my office, I learned TONS about bedbugs, more than I really ever wanted to know, saw more pictures than I'd ever want to see, and have a major paranoia about them now especially after learning that they're so easily spread and can be anywhere! You wouldn't see them because they hide in the bedframe during the day.

Do you know in what part of the folding beds in the All Star Family Suites should I look for them? :scared1:

I really don't drink much at all, only the odd glass of wine, but I would love to taste a few Champagne's and sparkling wines. I don't think I would qualify for the Champagne Girls, but I would love the badge!!:rotfl:

Me too, lol.

DD and I leave to go what else, shopping. She needs a new straightener, groceries, and of course, more gas in her car. Considerably poorer, we head back to her condo.

Once back at the condo, it is time to do what I always do when I visit, help her clean the place. You can imagine what it is like with five girls who claim they have no time to clean. The microwave takes DD a half hour to clean while I clean the top of the counters and stove. DD also cleans out refrig ,takes down two huge yard garbage bags and then mops floor.

We then tackle the real disaster, her room and bathroom. DD has probably not hung up clothes since the last time I helped her clean room. I clean closet, organize shoes and fill up dirty clothes hamper. DD starts the first load of six loads of wash. We change sheets on the bed and DD cleans the bathroom disaster. Finally finish dusting and vaccuuming, I heat up leftovers from Thai dinner last night for lunch.

Finally at 6:30 PM, we are done!! DD has a Theta excutive meeting at 7:00 and I have an 8:55 flight. Off to the airport, where I collapse at the bar, have a gin and tonic and chat with a fellow who is also going back to the SF Bay area.

On the plane at 8:55, landing by 10:15, DH is circuling the wagons as I grab my bag. Perfect timing as he drives us, I walk out and off we go home. We are home and in bed by 11:00 PM.

I love traveling and visiting my DD. However, I always need a day or two to get caught up when I get home to read the DIS!!

Thanks for all the nice comments on my Blog.

Noel

I bet that your DD really loves it when you visit :thumbsup2 I really enjoyed your trip report.

here you go Deb....don't say I didn't warn you though....

A work in progress....

....and this is one I made earlier......

Great artwork, I love it!

Holly,

Trying to catch up as I have been down with the stomach flu since Sunday morning!

Really felt lousy and still not so hot today. Had to come into work to do some shipping, but I will be heading home again soon and probably will go back to bed.
I'll keep trying to catch up, but I am only on Sunday, mid-day pacific time!

Karen

I hope you are well by now, Karen.

Oh no! Karen, I hope you feel better soon! It's certainly no fun to feel sick. Fortunately, Tyler's getting better....no more fever, but his appetite went away again and he's still coughing lots...and sleeping like crazy, so I'm not sure about sending him to daycare tomorrow. I'm thinking I will try because he's more active than sickly, and will let daycare decide if they want me to get him out of there. I doubt he'd infect anybody after having it so many days, but am not 100% sure---he so rarely gets sick (maybe once a year) that I'm just not up to snuff on my sickness knowledge. I never came down with it after all......just could barely stay awake yesterday and all day today.

Too scared to call in to work a 2nd day. It's what they get for being so short-staffed, but I know I'll never hear the end of it when I get back the following day and would be chewed out like a kid missing school.

And I hope Tyler is well too now.

So here's something really creepy: Yesterday, when we went in the back yard to play for about 15 minutes, as Tyler climbed up the rock wall part of his playset to the covered platform part to sit, I saw a plastic cup up there and grabbed it to move it out of the way before he knocked over and spilled whatever might be in it. I was picturing mud or something that would spill down the slide and then he'd be too grossed out to slide. As I grabbed the cup, I made the mistake of looking inside of it out of curiosity. There was a DEAD MOUSE lying in some unidentifyable goop (I didn't look close enough to determine what it was after seeing the mouse) AND there was a plastic lighter lying next to the cup. This was all sitting up on the platform where a couple of kids can sit and pretend to drive, etc. So I'm wondering WHO THE HECK was in my backyard, and WHEN?! Since last fall, we've only been out there once and that was maybe two weeks ago, and the stuff wasn't there then. I know I didn't put it there because I don't own a lighter and don't even have any plastic cups like that. All the neighbors surrounding our back yard are elderly, so I know it wasn't them. So somebody walked up my driveway to my fence, opened the gate which is right next to my bedroom, and went in my backyard to do who knows what!

Isn't that creepy?

Eeeek, a dead mouse, that would have scared me out of myself :scared1: I hope you have a lock by now.

Godspell - HOW AWESOME!! Went so well!!

Annie - MY DD13 - left for FL on her weeklong field trip Sun morning. We passed in the air (she was flying south as we were flying north). Well, she got there and spiked a 103 degree fever......waiting to here from the teacher now if I should fly down tomorrow and get her.....She was so looking forward to this trip. She stayed in the hotel room all day today and slept while the other kids did there work. They left one of the adults (and three other sick kids!) with her.

My DS17 is going to be a HOKIE

Great about the Godspell going so well, I hope Annie is better and congratulations to DS!!!

Some of you have wondered what the white ties that we have included with the Fish Extenders are for so I thought I would post it so that everyone is aware. On the first cruise as well as the one I first made these for a couple extenders "walked" away from their fish. It was suggested that you take a tie and put it around the cord once it is over the fish. That way it can't walk off. When you are ready to take it down just cut the tie off. It was such a good suggestion we decided to just start adding the ties so that everyone would have one. Hope this clears up any confusion.

Also, some good news. We are now the proud grandparents of a little girl. Lily Ann was born last night at 5:15 PM PDT. :cutie:  She weighed 9 lbs 1 oz and has a bunch of dark brown hair and blue eyes. Our first girl after 7 grandsons. Can't wait to see her!

That is so nice of you to add the white ties, thank you!

And congratulations on your baby granddaughter, and spoil her to bits!

Some more vacation photos - Hope I'm not boring you guys, but I am having fun. Probably won't hear much from me once we get to WDW - too much to do there!

How about this kid's sundae at Shutters, the restaurant at VBR?

20420dessert1.jpg

20420dessert2.jpg

Just kidding . . . that thing is called a Tidal Wave Sundae, and is supposed to be for two - all THREE of us could not finish it. It was full of ice cream, sauces, bananas (gotta love that), brownies, and cookies!

You definetly make us want to visit Vero Beach. And I would almost kill for a sundae like that (minus the bananas), especially now since I am on a diet :scared1:

I could tell the same story about my older DD whose comment after she got married was, "I can't believe I am turning into you" when referring to keeping her house clean.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

:
I found out today that (if all goes well) I'll have TWO new great-nephews in August. Two of my nephews' wives are due within a week of each other and they got the ultrasound results this morning.
More snips, and snails :snail: and puppy-dogs' tails!:dogdance:

Congratulations! I bet those two babies will be the best friends growing up.

As long as they don't want us to sit in a big champagne glass like in the logo!!!

:rotfl2: :lmao:

As much of a parrothead as I am, I was never able to get into that book either. I had it for a few years and finally put it in the goodwill box since I knew I would never read it if I hadn't yet. So, sorry, no inpsiration from me..... I am going to have to look for the Time travellers wife for one of my next ones. I noticed that Sohpia Kinsella has a new one about the Shopaholic(shopaholic & baby), can't wait to pick that up for our May trip. Her books crack me up.

not much in the basket this year...disney pins for trading and some disney dollars - which I have to go and get and maybe a bit of candy.

That will be exactly what ours looks like. We went through the pins the other day and each DD only picked out 2 that they felt they wanted to trade. Well, that just won't cut it for a trip for 2 weeks, so I had to jump on Ebay and buy a bunch for easter! :lmao: I asked both sets of GP to get disney dollars instead of the huge amounts of candy. Oh and the whole family is getting new towels (disney of course) since our current sets are getting old and worn out. I know, really exciting gifts.

perhaps she's drunk too much Holly!;) :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Have a lovely day everyone, and look forward to hearing all about your day later on :hippie:

By the way, on the cruise front......we got as far as looking at trying to change our flights so we could do the TransAtlantic on May 12th but no go, so guess it'll have to be a dream after all......:sad2:

Sorry to hear that it won't work....that must mean you get to do another major cruise at a different point :woohoo:

Hi Gang-I thought I'd post the info again about our Southern Cal DISmeets. If anyone wants to come that hasn't already PM'd me, please do, so that I can get you added to the ressie!

  • When - Sunday, May 20th
  • Time - 5:00PM
  • Where - Storyteller's, Grand Californian
  • Meal - Buffet (large variety of food)
  • Cost - $26.99/adult; $11.99/ages 3-9 plus a 15% gratuity that will be added automatically to the bill
For parties this large they only do buffet, so there's no option in matter. And for a group of this size, I think that works out better so that there's not any confusion with the bill, etc.

As a reminder, these are the people who indicated they're coming...if you've changed your mind, please PM me back so that I can tell them to remove you from the reservation:
LiserAnn, 4 (2A, 2C)
clynne, 4 (2A, 2C)
ibouncetoo, 1 (1A)
NotSoLittleMermaid, 1 (1A)
MrsMork and DrHug , 5 (4A, 1C)
firsttimecruiser, 3 (2A, 1C)
birkner, 2 (2A)
LisaG520, 2 (2A)
tink1963, 2 (2A)
woody73, 2 (2A)

That's all for now!

Wow....what a great mini meet. Looks like so much fun. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear all the great stories. I am jealous...but don't think DH would even remotely fall for a quick DL trip the day after we get home from WDW. As much as he "puts up" with my Disney obsession that one would go a bit too far in his eyes :lmao: :lmao:

Speaking of pins....where does everyone get them from? I usually end up buying some lots of Ebay or getting a few from pinseller.com. Are there any other great sites out there that people have used successfully? Our friends who are joining us have never been to WDW (live in San Jose. CA and only been to DL 1x!!!!!) and the mom just asked for some help getting started on the pin trading stuff for her kids.

Thanks for any advice. I am sure that there is a thread somewhere on the DIS about this, but I can never made the search engine work around here :confused3

Well, I once again, picked the most unpopular time to chat, so I am heading out to lunch with some friends. Have a great day.

Kaylee:

Do give me more San Jose info. I'll stalk them accordingly....just kidding... but seriously, perhaps we do have a common conection...what ages are their kids? girls or boys.

We also would like to do trading, but we always seem to buy at Dland and then they can't give them up. I'd love a source on ebay or whatever that ran less than the +$6 we spend per pin at Dland.

Actually, I guess they are south of SJ. They live in Aromas at the moment and are considering a move to Gilroy. They have 4 kids, 2 older (20 and 22) and DS 10 and DD 8.

I'll have to look through my purchases to find the best EBay seller I have dealt with. I usually try and no spend more than 3.00 per pin, including shipping, to make trading more realistic. We then only let them buy 1-2 pins at WDW, and then usually a pin or 2 for big events (like first time on ToT or SM or MNSSHP etc).

Popped in to say goodnight. Have a good evening chatting, I will catch up in the morning here.

Kaylee, are you hooping yet?:dance3:
