OK, one last post - she doesn't listen to me and pulls her hair back when we are in the parks - I like it better down. Also, she had to cancel her hair appt. before we left due to work, so she could not "wash that gray" out of her hair.

John,

You are such a good and observant husband!! My DH would never even have a notion of a "hair assist" and it would be a miracle if he knew if I had made or missed a hair appointment!!

I, of course, just noticed how relaxed she looked with the glass in her hand!!

Ahhh, Italy and France... Sigh...

Karen

We're home! Don't know if I should be excited about that. Had a great time.

Think I will just try and catch up tonight and toddle off to bed. Work tomorrow :sad2:

Hey John,
Between your updates and the shows on the Travel Channel today, I've gotten a really good idea of what WDW has to offer. "Vast" seems to be an understatement!:goodvibes

Good night everyone.....it is 11:37pm here at the Beach and I we just finished watching The Holiday.....if you have net seen it....rent it. I loved it!!

My girlfriend made a great scrapbook with a frog on the front. Each page had an exboyfriend, her favorite memories with him and why he was a frog and not the prince....it is a work in progress since she hasn't found the prince yet.

THAT is a cool idea! She's really got the right attitude!:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: "God? It's me, Margaret. Are you listening?"

Yup, HUGE Judy Blume fan! But what girl wasn't? :lmao:

LOVE Judy Blume books. My oldest has started reading them...brings back such memories. She is done with the Fudge series and is now onto Otherwise know as Sheila the Great.

:wave2: :wave2:

Hi everyone!

back from my trip to the seaside...I see I have just 35 pages to catch up on!!!! and do i spy a new logo???:yay:

Welcome back...and welcome to the joy of catching up! :surfweb: :lmao: How was the trip?!

Loving reading all the stories of how people met and the heartbreaking and heartwarming stories of love, romance, and soulmates. Scott and I met first through friends and we both came home from the night feeling the other was a jerk. Wasn't the best first impression. :lmao: About 2 months later, on my way home to see my boyfriend, I met him again and had a much better impression:cool1: Needless to say, broke up with my boyfriend back in CT and headed back to Seattle a single woman. Scott and I were roommates first (in a house of 7-the mutual friends rented a large house and we all moved in with some other friends). Finally 3 months later we started dating and the rest is history. It was great because we had become great friends before we even shared our first kiss.

DD loved those books! And I loved the original Judy Blume books as well.

She is currently reading "The Pretties" books. Very well done books about clicks; very appropriate for Junior High.

I have a secret....

I'll have a few for my near and dear....I got 'em on ebay, have ya heard of that place :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
QUOTE]

OMG....I   that....so great. Great find. Ebay is the BEST ;)

OMG, that is fabulous!
I wonder if we could do something with pink paper tiaras from a party store and clear ink-jet stickers. I have a really clear .png file of the DCL logo, or we could do something with the pink tink, hmmmm........

That sounds so great. You are so creative PJ! Can't wait to see it:cool1:

After cleaning all day, I am shopping on the internet. ;) ;) How cut is this for my bedroom at the beach!! Pottery Barn, of course

PotteryBarn.jpg

Looks great! Anything Pottery Barn works for me:)

Hi all - Love the champagne girls and DCL tiaras...makes me want to break into singing 'I feel pretty, oh so pretty...':lmao:

Been really busy trying to get stuff ready for the Med repo cruise. Finally got our room assignments! Booked a 12 GTY and the upgrade fairy put us in a Cat 9!!! We are really happy. Room is supposed to be a little noisy, so I went and bought industrial strength ear plugs (good for working on heavy machinery or shooting) so I figure we will sleep through anything. I will see if I can find any more of those tiaras...I think we are going to need LOTS!!!!

Can't wait to hear all the stories from that cruise!

Oops!! I hit send to soon!!

Here are the pics!!

Sorry!

Karen

Looks absolutely beautiful and peaceful!

DD ran out of the room before the Doc could even get the needle in position!!

Thank heaven for the locked door before the waiting room, or she would have been long gone!!!

She is now due for the set that comes when they turn 12!! Oh boy...:scared1:

Karen

Must say this is where my doctor skills fall apart. As an ND, we do all our own shots and blood draws (rather than having nurses) and whenever I give an immunization, both of us are usually crying! :sad2: I do have a spray which I put on first which makes it a bit number, but nothing great.

We were at Magic Kingdom, and all I kept thinking was - I just want to post someone owes me a chocolate smoothie!

We were at MK with Vanessa and John. John in full Gator Gear, Me in OSU, and how cool we both won. We kidded about it the whole night - rematch from football season. I'll post a pick maybe tomorrow. Now it is time for BED! MK was open until midnight!

Congrats to both of you for your teams. John thanks for continuing to share your trip and pictures. Love the one of Amy with the bubbly and all of you with Mickey and the gang. You all look so happy (but you are in WDW so of course you are) and relaxed.

10 more pages to go......

Oh and did I mention POC At Worlds End PremiEAR on board?????popcorn::

That sounds awesome! Couldn't be a better place for it!

Welcome back Julie! Good luck catching up! I only had 30 pages and it took me all night.
I am sure there were tons of things I missed commenting on...that's what I get for leaving the DIS at home, :lmao: !
Off to finish watching AR. This one got me tonight, very emotional for me:sad1:

test....test....clock test...

Jeeze, with my DIS signature option clock not reflecting the correct setting and my computer clock thinking daylight savings started TODAY...I've had no idea what time it was all day. Good thing I've had the tv on all day so I haven't missed my Travel Channel shows.

.

I know you are just kidding Kim, but MAN was it getting crowded when we left! Almost made you claustrophobic in the parks!

No I am just jealous and bitter. I wanted to go to disneyworld with you all! I don't want to be here and I certainly would have had a way better time there.

Just had the most brilliant idea.....:woohoo:

I've just seen on the DCL site that the Eastbound transatlantic repo cruise on May 12th is selling cat 12 staterooms for $999!!!!!!!! That's for 14 nights too!

Now then, we cruise with DCL on the 5th May for 7 days and are due to fly home on the 12th May..........can you see where this is leading?...... ;)

I think it would be a MUCH better idea, rather than fly home, for us to get back on board and bring that lovely ship across the ocean to Europe....don't you?? :rolleyes1

Mark has just said 'NO'.....but he has to go to work....and I don't!!!!! :rotfl:

Well....what do you guys reckon? (or do you think this would lead to divorce?):rolleyes1 ;)

I vote go, life is too short. Good luck :goodvibes

Prices vary all up and down the East Coast. We are in Bethany Beach DE...which tends to be a little on the pricy side, as we are so close to DC, Phila, and NY.

This house is 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and $10,000,000!!:scared1: :scared1:
2mmwls7.jpg

This house is 1 block from the ocean and 2 blocks closer to the ocean than we are.
6 bedrooms, 5 baths, and $2,265,000.

This house is 2 blocks from the ocean
5 bedrooms 3 1/2 baths and $1,495,000

This house is 3 blocks from the ocean
4 bedrooms, 3 baths and $985,000

As you can see, it is much more affordable as you go just 3 blocks back.

We are three blocks from the ocean and have a VERY small house. It sleeps 8, 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths. We love it here.

This is a map of Virginia. There is a great "undiscovered part" the two counties very far east....south of MD and not attached to VA anywhere. Accomack and Northampton. Real Estate is very cheap ... even ocean/bay front. If I were in the market for another house, I would look there.

Another very favorite place is Mount Pleasant SC...so beautiful.

I love waterfront!!

Thanks for this info. I figure there has to be somewhere else that we would consider to retire to with the beach atmosphere that I'm desiring. This is the back up plan to not finding the right house here in Half Moon Bay. It's been 1 1/2 years that we have been looking and only 2 houses were considered. Unfortunately, we were in a contingent escrow for one. It fell thru (on the sellers side) so we now how that ideal house stuck in our heads. Oh well if it's meant to be it will happen sooner or perhaps later. I think Paul and I will make an effort in the next few years to check out the eastern seaboard to be sure that we aren't missing anything over there.

I am never going to catch up.... Is everyone enjoying the weekly recap I am replying too? Sorry!

I agree with Holly, it's nice to sometimes re-read what is going on. We do get a bit chatty every now and then, but that's what is making our group fun for me. I've been quite happy to read as I can and post when I want...just like a normal friend ship, they don't always have to be full on or off to work.

With that I'll sign off, it's been a great weekend here. I hope to load some pictures this week and post some of our fun....btw, I'm blonder now :lmao:

nite nite, Nan

Missed the Travel Channel shows today:sad1: Right now they are in Animal Kingdom....but I want to see the cruise one, time to search for reruns....

Have you looked in Bodega Bay?

Nan,

Younger AND blonder!! That's what Birthday's are all about!!!

At one point, I noticed that the DIS clock and my clock were an hour and a half off!!!

Now it looks like it's just about 30 minutes??:confused3

My car updated today to Daylight savings time. Really threw me when I got in the car and I was almost an hour late for a girls lunch date!!!

Sweet dreams, hope the rest of the week is wonderful too!:cloud9:

I asked Paul about this, but it isn't that much more less expensive, so for retirement why not look out of CA...state tax is the top of my list of reasons to look elsewhere out of state. If we find something within the next few years we can go to HMB because it's close enough to get to clients at a phone call notice...BB would be too far for that I'm afraid. And too far from family and friends for now. I don't think we'd do the 2nd house again, it just wasn't worth it for us, our weekends are too full of the kids stuff right now.

Oh my gosh, it happened to me this morning too, I was on migrane meds again (paul was driving us to theater) and I freaked....thank heavens it was the car being really smart and WRONG!!!

ok, really going to bed now see ya all tomorrow :goodvibes

I love that schedule! Is it a public school? My sister lives in Hawaii and her step sons go to school year round with a few 2 week breaks through the year. Thought that was a great schedule.
Yep, public school...go figure! We do like the schedule for vacations.

Hello everyone. We're just back fromv cruising 10 days on the NCL Dawn. I hope everyone is well!
Welcome home...looking forward to reading your trip report when you're ready!:)

We're home! Don't know if I should be excited about that. Had a great time.
Welcome home!

whenever I give an immunization, both of us are usually crying! :sad2: I do have a spray which I put on first which makes it a bit number, but nothing great.
Our pediatrician used the numbing spray but apparently (given by the shrill) it didn't work. It was quite a sit, glad it's behind us.

We had a busy day yesterday and today so I was "off" the boards...but welcome home to everyone who's been gone! Glad everyone had a great weekend!

Good morning.

love that...'scathingly brilliant'.....:thumbsup2 must tell Mark that!
Glad John's Mum was better Maz, where does she live?
How about the 'champagne sippers' for you girls?;) :cool1:

John's mum lives in Basingstoke - that is where John is from - a Southerner!!!

I love Haley Mills!! Love the original (and new) Parent Trap....I also love Summer Magic....my favorite Haley Mills movie!

I remember the first Parent Trap with Hayley Mills. We all wanted to be just like her. Recently she has joined a TV series here set in S. Africa called Wild at Heart. She is the main female character's mother and is excellent. Trouble is now she is in her 60's, so I no longer want to be like her!!:confused3

Been gone most of the day, so catching up!

Our DVR has been busy taping this all day and we are watching the DCL one right now!! It is very updated, even included a teaser on the new ships!!!

WDW is on right now! They are showing the castle suit right now!!princess:

Karen

I wish they showed all the Disney programmes on our channels!:sad2:

After Trouble With Angels, I begged and pleaded to be sent 'away' to school! Not very likely to happen to a millworkers daughter!

After the Parent Trap we all wanted to go away to summer camp like you all did!!!:rotfl:

Vanessa,

Thanks for posting the pictures, (now I don't have to!) and thanks for sharing time with us. We really enjoyed your company, and yup, we were taking off at about 3:30 . . . got group A, we were the third ones in line at the gate, so we got to sit near the front of the plane, immediately behind all the people with under 6 year old screaming kids who get to courtesy board. Off the plane at 5:30, but not home until almost 9 (stopped for dinner on the way home from Cleveland).

Loved all the pictures and reports. Wish we could have been there.

Sitting behind all the people with screaming children on the plane would have had me joining in!:scared1:

Glad you are home safe.

Now, the board is back to going down at 8.20am our time. It caught me out this morning. Very strange.
