On January 5th we always have "Rosca de reyes", hot chocolate and tamales for dinner,

Caroly, technically you are almost 2 months early, lol, we celebrate on May 10th, then again I might have had a blond moment before and put March instead of May.

Carolyn, I will be happy to personally escort Aurora to your home, lol, Estrella would definetly enjoy coming too.

Like hot chocolate, love tamales...I'd be set!

May 10th, got it. I'm sure you posted correctly. I was probably trying to speedDIS again.

Aurora!! Your ironing lady is named Aurora??!! Oh, DD would be be in heaven! (Pink heaven, though, sorry Thea!) And, I'll make a note: no McDonald's for Estrella! (You mean, she's never had a Happy Meal toy??)

Carolyn

I am so mixed on the Snape issue....deep down I think trust him, but every time I start a new book I think he is a very bad man. So, in the long run....Trust Snape I guess. Can't wait for the last book or the next movie, both in July!!! :cool1: I just hope she doesn't kill Harry off in the last book, it would be so sad.

I hope she doesn't, either!! Oh, man, DS would be devastated if Harry's killed off in the last book. Oh, ok, I'd probably bawl like a baby, too...

Carolyn

Can we get an 'ordinary' table then?

I would like to. I think it'll be more fun doing it together. We can see if we get any more people and what date we're going to choose and then we can just have one person make the ressie for all of us.

I HAD the spray tan with me on our last cruise...DH used it (he's going to kill me for letting you know this...he reads these boards and sometimes posts), but I didn't use it because I was tan in 1 day. Greek! Good tanning skin. Got darker everyday.

I LOVE to pamper on vacation, that's what it's all about right! I would love to have gotten a massage too (DH did the one with the hot stones and loved it), but I have a lot of inflamation and if I get a massage it hurts, it does not feel good anymore. So last cruise I tried a facial. I didn't like it. I think Noel mentioned getting a scalp treatment...I think I'll try that one!

I have never gotten an adjustment, I'm not sure if I could do it without pain. DH and me don't do coasters unless they're lame. But I would be happy to take your picture for you on you rides. DD and DSIL are addicted to coasters and so are DGS's. We watch and wave and take pictures.
:wave2:

DH tans very quickly...I stay white, don't tan and don't burn. Nice not to burn, but bummer that I am always white. So, the spray tan works for me. Only sad thing is I am tanner in the first of my vacation pics than I am in the end :lmao:
I have 3 massage therapists in my office, so I get spoiled getting massages regularly. I used to have one a week for years, but have slowed my habit down to 1 a month. It can be hard to handle massages if you have a lot of inflammation...if you find someone to do gentle swedish and you drink a TON of water before and after it might make it more manageable. A lot of my fibromyalgia patients do that.

Since the Aurora thing was brought up again...I was watching Cinderella 3 with DD's on Friday night. In the previews there is a new Princess series coming to DVD with the "first ever" new Aurora segment. In it, she wore a dress that was pink on top and blue on the bottom. I giggled to myself thinking that was one way to solve the "better in pink or blue" issue! :rotfl2:

mmmmmmmm, tamales. I love tamales. DH makes some good ones, but not very often since they are so time consuming to make.

Love the Star kitty picture. Here's what my handsome 16 year old cat A.J. is doing right now:
AJSnoozing.jpg

He sleeps so much now that I hardly ever see his eyes. But I do remember they are amazing. They actually are different rings of color (blue, green, gold) blending into one another.

He's started doing the craziest thing. He'll sit in the middle of the floor and look down... and just sit there staring at the floor for the longest time. It's like he's trying to remember why he's there or where he's going. Can't help it but it reminds me of Holly's boss!! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: OH MY GOSH! That's hilarious! But the problem is that now, next time I see my boss wandering around looking lost, I'll probably picture your cat and start laughing at him! :lmao:

Well, I said 'southern' for Angel as I know she comes from the south end of London, which has a very strong accent, but now lives in Berkshire(a county), some miles away. They would be different accents and I am not sure which way she will speak.

I live up north, about 230 miles away from Angel, in the county of Yorkshire. I guess I could have said I have a Northern accent!

Counties are like your States, though they are not governing bodies. I think that is the right term. You have State and Federal law don't you? We just have central government, though local councils look after local issues.

I don't feel I have explained things well. I think Angel is better at these things!!

Makes perfect sense to me! :goodvibes

You explained it beautifully....Yorkshire is a county which is the same as our states and it's north of London.

We have Federal, State and Local governments. Central government and local councils are different from us...how does that work out for you? Is it easier to get things done?

I am not very up on these issues really. We do pay local 'council tax' which is based on the price of our property. These pay for road maintenance, schools, police, public parks and gardens. libraries etc. We pay taxes through various means to central government who run the country. Like you, how well they do that is a contentious issue!!! They make all the laws, whereas I think some of your laws are state and differ from state to state. There is much more to it all I know!! We did used to have County Councils but they got rid of them.

Wow, I sound so serious!!! I am not at all in to politics. Now shopping, that is another thing entirely!:cheer2:

Linda (Seaulater) also has a great system for keeping everyone up to date once we're onboard. Where is Linda anyway? I haven't seen her here in awhile. Anyway, she has generously offered to print a mini-navigator with the master list you are all so graciously gathering. The mini navigator also includes the various activities we have lined up (Bunco, group photo, tea, brunch, etc.). She does this as her sail away gift. Anywhooo, she also has some system for keeping DISers updated as to cabin changes. Something about having a deck monitor on each deck where folks can check in for changes. I'm not sure how it all works, but she's done this on previous cruises and seems to have it all worked out. I'm glad all of you list keepers and navigator makers are here to keep us organized. :thumbsup2
Me too! I'm the most unorganized person I know. When we leave for work in the morning, I usually have to run back in the house for 1 or 2 things, then often also have to turn around after I've driven down the road because I remember something else I forgot. Then I quite often reach Tyler's day care and discover I forgot his lunch! It's a wonder I ever make it to work! Not good qualities for a secretary. :rotfl: I need my own secretary!

I hope she doesn't, either!! Oh, man, DS would be devastated if Harry's killed off in the last book. Oh, ok, I'd probably bawl like a baby, too...

Carolyn

I was bawling like a baby when Dumbledore was killed. That one was very hard for DS. I think he's almost expecting Harry to be killed in the final book, so he's bracing for it. I don't know if JK could get away with doing that. Think of the uproar. She has said that 2 characters will be killed in the final book....

We've never gone to the midnight release parties, but I think I might let the boys go to this one, DS9 anyway. We'll see.

Better add in TiggersPal too. We grew up on 'tea time' with Mom and the neighbor ladies. As a matter of fact, I'm VERY happy sitting around a table with a cup of tea in hand. ::yes::

OK, back to work for me.....still have to send the PM(s) with info for the lists. I'll try and grab another break around 4pm......

later kids!

TiggersPal is SIS right? She has been added for tea. Thanks.

Mornings around here are a zoo. You'd think I would just start getting everything started 15 minutes earlier and avoid the chaos, but no. We carpool with the neighbors, and she does the morning drop-off while I do the afternoon pick-up. Works much better for me since I only have to get the two boys ready and out the door while I can still be in my pj's. Mornings that I'm actually working are complete chaos.:scared:

I was crying when Syrius Black (sp?) died. :sad1: Then again with Dumbledore.:sad1: I remember reading about Black when we were driving home from Seaside, OR and DH thinking I was pathetic at how badly I was crying over a book :lmao:

I have taken DD8 to the midnight parties 2x now with another mom and her DD. It is a fun Mom/daughter time and the girls love seeing how everyone dresses up and really gets into HP. More than anything, they love the fact that they are usually still awake at 1 AM!

LOL....Bring more spray and do it again...

It's NICE to be spoiled!

It can be hard to handle massages if you have a lot of inflammation...if you find someone to do gentle swedish and you drink a TON of water before and after it might make it more manageable. A lot of my fibromyalgia patients do that.

I have A LOT of inflammation....average high is 20, mine ranges between 60-80. I have fibromyalgia, edema and connective tissue disease. It would have to be a REALLY GENTLE swedish massage. DH puts suntan lotion on me and he cannot press to rub it in...must touch lightly on the surface only. Kind of defeats the purpose of a massage.

Oh well, just have to get the scalp massage. That feels relaxing.
:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for this info! I've always been afraid to get a massage because of my fibromyalgia. I've got all 18 pressure points. I call them my F-spots because if you poke me there I say the F word*!

*Normally I never use swear words ... except when I'm watching the Vikings.

Two?? Oh, man...I'll break it to DS. He has been known to break down after finishing the last book in a series, just because it's over. What'll he do if Harry or Ron of Hermione bite it? (As for Dumbledore...honestly, I kept thinking that they would revive him somehow...page after page after page...finally, it sunk in...)

Kind of :offtopic: I plan on searching the DIS later tonight, but thought I would ask our great group first....
anyone used any of the babysitting services while at WDW to go out for some fun (:drinking1 ;) ) and alone adult time?

I used Fairy Godmother's in 05 (and had great results), but don't see much about them anymore. What about Kid's Nite Out or the clubs in the hotels? Our friends will be there the first week of our trip and we want to take them to PI for a night while the 4 kids stay back at OKW.

Any advice or tips or experiences to note?
Thanks

As presidente Calderón said recently, some of the best and most hardworking people are the ones inmigrating to the US, so he must be a great guy.

From what I see so far, he really is a hard-working guy.

And the truth is that most houses and people in Mexico are very clean. The bathrooms are cleaned every day and the kitchen floors are mopped at least once every day.

That is wonderful, but it made me laugh because that explains why after coming to my house, he asked me to come over to his place! :rotfl2: Housekeeping just isn't a priority for me and since I don't have a basement, my bedroom is sort of like a storage room with a bed in it. And Tyler has clutter all over the living room. Gee, he must have been cringing inside! :scared1: But he must be a good sport about it since he kept calling me! :rotfl2:

And even the poorest people will take a bath every day, and it is not always easy. One of the secretaries at my office didn´t have running hot water, only cold, so everyday she would heat water for her and her dd so they would be clean, even if it meant scooping water on them with a cup.

Now that's dedication! What a great woman she is!

Oh yeah, after crying about how her heart was broken in the tiniest pieces, dd forgave Cordelia, and she too, is back to her playful puppy self too.

Awwww, how sweet!

Wow, some parents have the nerve to sit and let their kids run wild and will get mad at you for sticking up to your child!!!

I am that mother too, who will not let another child bully, and will tell the child directly, sorry, if the mother doesn´t like it, then come and supervise your kid.

I wish there were more mothers like you and I!

Don´t worry, sometimes those hard working men do learn how to look after themselves, and it sounds like Alejandro is one of them!

:thumbsup2

You all must be doing some great parenting for really thinking about Tyler and what is best for him. I agree that he is a very lucky boy to have all those people who love him.

We try! :goodvibes

Julie, do you know of a good English/Spanish translation website? I want to be able to look up how to say things ahead of time that I want to talk about with Alejandro. And to look up things I heard him say to his cousin or friend so I know what they're talking about....well, I might not want to know what they say always! :rotfl:
