We all had houses on Campus, there were 6 Women's Fraternities and one Sorority, AGD, and I think 13 men's Frats. Never understood why we chose to use the term Women's Fraternity, I know that is what we were founded as, instead of Sorority. Canadians had no clue what a women's frat was and there was little or no girls who were referred by alumnea. We have a very strong University run Residence program, about 20,000 beds for 55,000 students. Alot of us were commuter students.

I know, I never understood that either but I still referred to it as a sorority otherwise people didn't know what I was talking about!

UCI is also a very large commuter school which is why at UCI the greek system was so strong...you needed something to get involved with to feel connected.

:rotfl: I would clean the house through and tidy cupboards etc before the cleaning lady came if I had one!!!

I'm sorry, but if I paid somebody to clean my house, she'd be the one cleaning everything. ;) I thought that was the point of having a cleaning lady! :rotfl:

Just popping in to say good morning before I take DS9 to the dentist. I forgot to tell you all that he knocked out a good portion of both of his front teeth (about 1/3 of each one) on our very first day of vacation in Hawaii on a waterslide. We rushed him to a dentist who said he would be able to keep what remained of his teeth, thank goodness. We waited until we got home to have them bonded, however, so we could have it done by his regular dentist. Hopefully, he will have his usual bright smile back by lunchtime.:beach:
Poor little guy! He must have been in horrible pain!

Well, at 21 believe it or not, it was shocking, especially when this one guy got up on our table and shoved his thonged behind into my face....to which I did put $1 bill, following the prescribed tradition that I was informed of!!! :rotfl: It was a sight to see, that's for sure.....
OOoooooohh.....me likey! :woohoo:

Went once. Adults should bring aspirin.

Woody

Or, adult beverages...or, better yet, pay someone to take their kids. (Sorry, Holly, I know you and Tyler love it...just makes me anxious to even consider going...)

Well, Chuck E. Cheese does sell beer. :thumbsup2

Got registered for my classes for next semester! Now I just have to come up with thousands of dollars for next term by the end of April. Got screwed by school. Before I took this semester off, I called and asked about the procedure for doing so. I was told to submit something in writing saying I was only taking the semester off and that I'd be registering for classes the following semester. That's it. Well, about 3 weeks ago I got a letter in the mail from school saying, "We regret to inform you....." that basically since I took a semester off, it reflects negatively on my academic progress and I'm therefore ineligible for Federal student loans until I attend at least one semester to prove satisfactory academic progress. :headache: Huh? I'm 1/3 of the way done....not in my first term. Seems to me I have satisfactory progress. I'm not academic probation or anything either. Sure...right...I have $8,000 sitting around gathering dust that I can pay for this semester with....yeah....easy as pie....NOT!!! Had they told me about this when I inquired about taking a term off, I never would have. Oh well.....lesson learned.....NO taking a semester off.

OK....done venting. Sorry. But on a happier note, I was able to get most of the classes I wanted. Surprising because so many filled up before my assigned registration time.

Everybody enjoy your day! I'm off to the gym and then out with a few girls for a drink and dinner! :woohoo:

Angie/John, want to fill Holly in on my need for earplugs and sleep-mask when hanging with you all?

PJ couch surfs! Sharing a cabin on the Magic requires earplugs for the snoring and sleep-mask so she doesn't get  with the sight of John1 or DrHug in their skivvies. :lmao: We do not want to scar the poor girl for life! :lmao:

OK, so how does a rolling case end up with a hatchet in it?:confused3

None of the stuff I listed in my original post do I trust to pack away. Do you really trust expensive camera stuff to TSA? And since my luggage has been lost on more than one occasion (last time a belt broke at Orlando, and I did not get luggage for a day) I can't trust my cpap to checked luggage.

Trust me, I am VERY careful with my computer, camera and gadget stuff. Drives Amy crazy. Some guys are like that with cars or golf clubs, I am like that with gadgets. My laptop has a cloth between the keyboard and display, a sleeve, and a padded zippered case before it makes it into the bag.

Drives me crazy too!! :scared:

My stuff weighs too much! Must have wheels!

The Samsonite thing would be ideal if just a tad bit bigger. It is one with four wheels, so I don't even have to tilt it to roll it.

Just have Amy carry it, then it won't be too heavy for you. ;) I just hate it when he takes the big bag! :lmao: :lmao:

I'm so frustrated with LOST right now. I want answers and all they're giving me is more things to question. In fact, so many more/new details that I'm forgetting older details! UGH!!!! Gimme somethin'!!!!

So, another night of a good show...but no answers, just more questions! But, it was a great episode!!!!

For my 21st bday several of my sorority sisters took me to CHIPPENDALES...oh gosh, what a ridiculous night and I ended it by praying to the procelain god..........awful! 21 years later and I can still remember how awful it was.........

never been to a chippendales show, but spent enough time over my years at praying there :sad2:
:

Here's shot of DH with my two boys....he's in the back (check out his facial expression), my oldest boy is hidden behind the woman in red, and the very top of the head of my youngest (who was just 4 at the time) can barely be seen behind the woman in red....but really my DH's expression is what got me laughing.................
]

Great picture! Love those priceless shots. Reminds me of one of DD on Splash. I will have to search for it and try and post it. It fits perfectly with our children/fear of rides discussion. I think everyone in the photo place was laughing with DD at how hysterical she looked (read terrified there).

I LOVED Bosom Buddies!! Well written, loads of talent!:thumbsup2

Karen

Karen: I think I just saw the first season of that show on DVD at Target. I could be wrong.

Some interesting members,
Sara Blakely, Florida State, founder and owner of SPANX
Leeza Gibons, South Carolina
Katie Couric, Virginia
Maria Cribbs Owens, Baylor, Brigadier General United States Air Force
JoAnna Garcia, Florida State, she stars on REBA, the oldest daughter
Senator Elizabeth Dole, Duke

:lmao: :lmao: No matter what we discuss it always comes back to Spanx or shoes Doesn't it? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm sorry, but if I paid somebody to clean my house, she'd be the one cleaning everything. ;) I thought that was the point of having a cleaning lady! :rotfl:

I pick up personal stuff that is on my desk and stuff like that. I lay out the sheets so she can change the beds and put the laundry in the laundry room. Our house doesn't really get that dirty with the two of us so it is mostly dusting, floors and bathroom to be mopped, counter to be cleaned and vaccuming. Takes the two girls about 3.5 hours every two weeks and afterward my house looks and smells wonderful!!

:surfweb:

OK, before I go do "other" important things, I wanted to post another shot that my DD took of herself in Bodega. The sunset behind her is the view from our porch!!

Karen: Another beautiful picture of your beautiful daughter!:)

DH can't make it that late so I have to summarize it for him the next day. i wish they would show it again on Saturday's like they did last season for awhile.

Don't forget everyone - new Grey's Anatomy tonight - preview during Lost last night make it look good. (Of course they are reshowing tomorrow at 8pm if you miss it tonight.)

Off to work...

YEAH! Did anyone catch October Road last week?, I think it has potential to be a good show. I enjoyed it, but not as much as Grey's!

Just popping in to say good morning before I take DS9 to the dentist. I forgot to tell you all that he knocked out a good portion of both of his front teeth (about 1/3 of each one) on our very first day of vacation in Hawaii on a waterslide. We waited until we got home to have them bonded, however, so we could have it done by his regular dentist. Hopefully, he will have his usual bright smile back by lunchtime.:beach:

I hope he is back to his smiley face again! It is so hard when something happens to those front teeth. DD5 jumped in our hot tub and landed on her face (you know, one of those rules we have that kids never seem to want to listen to "No jumping in the hot tub"). I wasn't in it and just heard DH screaming for me as blood was pouring out of her mouth. I might also add this was the day before her Preschool class pictures (of course). When all was cleaned up, she ended up just chipping her 1 front tooth and cutting her lip. The dentist said she did no nerve damage. She has been my little Chip (like the cup from Beauty and the beast) ever since.

Good afternoon Maz :) Morning to everyone else!;)

I've just had lunch with my dd as its her 19th birthday tomorrow and she has a free afternoon today :) It was lovely to spend some time with her.

She shares her birthday with me! Say Happy Birthday to her from me won't you!:bday: :cake: :bday:

Just popping in to say hi and to wish Becky and Granmaz an early Happy Birthday from a fellow March 23rd Birthday Gal. :tink: :bday:

We leave at 4:30 am tomorrow and won't be back until late on Tuesday. Beware the EB Pirates.

I'll never be able to get caught up  Have a great weekend all!

Oh and I have a secret to share, while my legal name is Corrine, my DH and friends call me Cork.
