I am compelled to tell you our story here... on 1/15 it was the 15th anniversary of losing my home, everything I own (down to my shoes, baby pictures and 6 cats) to a Christmas Tree fire. It (obviously) took me years to deal with it, but I met my husband because of it. On the second anniversary of the fire my friend insisted I go out with her and not sit home to think about it. She set me up with the man I ended up marrying. For years peopel asked me why my stuff was still up that late.... well, I was busy working on the show Full House, I had been sick, I need help getting it out, everything was off of it, but the power strip under the tree exploded and lit it up like a cannon. So, fast forward to this year. We've been really busy this year. I said DH Please make sure that Xmas tree is down and out of the house by the 15th, I can't have it up on the 15th (yes, us and all of our friends have really good artificial trees - much like many of you.) The night of the 14th DH leaves on a business trip and it is still up (apparently he didn't notice it standing in the corner of the room!) There I am on the 14th with DD4 taking it down and laying it on the floor. YESTERDAY HE BAGGED IT UP AND PUT IT IN THE GARAGE!!!!!!

Next year, it comes down on Sunday January 4th (mark my words!!!!)
