In Atlanta? That's rare. I remember when I taught school there and the kids would get soooo excited the one day or so that we would actually get snow. I remember one day it started snowing and recess was still an hour away. I just knew this might be our only chance to run around in the snow, so I took the kids outside. The headmaster wasn't too happy with me.But sure enough, by the time recess rolled around it had quite snowing and they would have missed it all. It's snowing here, too, but that's not news. We'll get 2-4 inches tonight. Probably won't get a snow day for the kids tomorrow, though.
2-4 inches wouldn't give us a snow day either. Our schools usually only close when we get about 9 inches or more.
I wish I could think of something to say to make it better, I'm sorry you and Tyler are having such a tough time, but you are on the road to getting help. We're all friends here, that means sharing the good times and the bad
Thanks so much! Thanks so much!You know something? I never thought about the timing of me not being able to go to school this semester. You're so right! If I'd been in classes, I never would have succeeded with all the stress of dealing with Tyler's issues. Thanks for pointing that out to me!Oh Holly, how scary! We know Tyler is not a freak....we know about the sweet kind caring considerate and loving person that he is. He just needs some medical attention right now for all the things that he does not have control of in his life. Thankfully he is beginning to get that attention now. You're doing all the right things to help him and it will payoff, just have to give it some time since it's so new for him still.
You are a remarkable person for dealing so well with it all. You could easily panic out, but you don't. You always have us here to vent with, anytime day or night. You know how I believe that things happen for a reason.....I think that you're not able to be in school this semester for a reason. Tyler needs you and you are now freed up to be able to focus on getting him the help that he needs. Tyler's father is the one in denial, but he seems to come around eventually.....just give him a little more time.
Just remember, Tyler is not the only kid this ever happened to.....the professionals see this kind of stuff everyday....they will fix it, just give them a chance.
