Exactly! Me, I throw it in there, I mean, you don't really need to see out the back window do you?

Now I have to put it by the door and he does the rest.

I put it in the car, Dennis takes it out and repacks it "the right way." :worship: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Yes, the John in this house packs the boot(trunk) too - usually all fits like a jigsaw!:lmao:

Is your DH not covering the election stuff? I would think that would be prime spot to cover and be home at the same time, no?

You would think so, wouldn't you? But in GE's (NBC's parent company) infinite wisdom they flew in staffers from the Burbank bureau instead of employing a freelancer who LIVES RIGHT HERE! You know how it is--staff salaries are out of one budget and freelancers are out of another--yada, yada, yada. In fact, DH did work a great deal before they announced the severe cutbacks and moratorium on hiring freelancers on Dec. 10. He spent a week on Obama's bus tour and came away very impressed. He spent lesser amounts of time with other candidates.

Honestly, it was nice to have him home more over Christmas, but DH was pretty ticked over the whole principle of the thing. No worries. He ends up with more work than he can handle most of the time anyway. When stuff like this happens, though, it always reminds him how tenuous his work situation really is, being strictly freelance with no contract, etc. Luckily, he also owns his own production company in Florida, so all is good.

Just pay the $25 over-weight fee and then you don't have to find somewhere to ship from.

That is so true because by the time you find a Post Office and everything your time plus your package cost could easily be over $25 - especially if you are mailing heavy things.

I think I will budget in $25 for the return flight and be done with it and not worry about that one BIG suitcase that we have.

There is 4 of us and my goal is to take 6 cases full and 2 duffles folded into the suitcases for "extra's" coming home.

Sounds like Scott and I will get along just fine. Love that description BTW - Tetris Screen!:lmao:
.

Ok, so why is it that all the men are so "particular" ("PC" terminology:lmao: ) about how a car is packed? I agree V, who needs to see out the back window:rotfl2: !But hey, the way I look at it, one less thing I know I have to do:cool1:

I sent off a postcard to Gydell's DGS about my Gingerbread Man sighting.

Thanks!

That sounds like my DH. He packs the car and has a bag left and says it won't fit. I have to go out and redo the car and show him it all fits with room to spare!

Someone might have answered, but I'm doing this right click thing....my recollection is that it was going to be individual costs. Lisa

I think it is indiviual cost too. On our las t cruise we had lanyards with the date and cruise name on it. They were great and thin. Then on the end we had tags with our dis name and our logo. I will take a pic and post tonight. I can as the guy where he ordered from and see how much they cost.

Son is okay, just can't do karate, no running, jumping, etc. for the next week. Deb did explain fish extenders, didn't know the fish was a mail box. I will let my wife pursue this.

There is also a link to a photo of a fish extender if you go to the first post of this thread.

It's snowing!

In Atlanta? That's rare. I remember when I taught school there and the kids would get soooo excited the one day or so that we would actually get snow. I remember one day it started snowing and recess was still an hour away. I just knew this might be our only chance to run around in the snow, so I took the kids outside. The headmaster wasn't too happy with me. :rotfl: But sure enough, by the time recess rolled around it had quite snowing and they would have missed it all. It's snowing here, too, but that's not news. We'll get 2-4 inches tonight. Probably won't get a snow day for the kids tomorrow, though.

Those look great. Thanks for doing the research on this. I, for one, would like to have lanyards for our group. It's especially helpful to have our name and Dis name, but I know that's a whole lot more work for whoever is putting them together.

Time to head off and think about supper. I've got double meetings tonight--one for the school carnival and one at the community theater--so I thought I'd better get caught up on the day's posts now. Might check in late tonight. Bye all.

For those of you flying Airtran check your prices, the fares went a little lower today. I got $10 credit on my dh's flight to MCO.

You would think we were going to have a blizzard! The stores are empting their milk and bread aisles. It's not really suppose to stick but the freezing rain all night might get us!

Jill - those lanyards are amazing! I would certainly be interested in getting some if WE end up doing this.

There's a pink Mickey Mouse and a Winnie the Pooh on E-bay now, under hanging organizers.
