How about the time my best friend cut out a dress pattern on the loop pile carpeting. Yep, she cut throught the loops of the carpeting in a perfect outline of several of the dress pieces.

Kids and adults do the darndest things. :)

And did she ever put together the carpet dress???:rotfl2:

I'm up for the Hummer, my kids would be besides themselves with a Hummer, so I'd prefer to stick with that, but ultimately will do whatever is decided. I appreciate the effort Kaylee, so I won't complain about the end result. Tell me where to be and how much to pay and we'll be there! :thumbsup2

Agree 100%

I was thinking if you're OK with it Monica, we'd all pay you in advance and you could bring them with you to the ship and hand them out at the beginning of the cruise. Seems like it would save you the trouble of shipping them out. Bottom line, I'm good with whatever is decided. In terms of price, 'd say under $10 for all 4 would be reasonable.

Again agree 100%, or maybe we can each pay you in advance and maybe you could ship a bunch to one of us who will be riding with a bunch of others from the airport and get done with about 50 bracelets at the same time.

Proud Mom Moment!

Ok, I have to brag a bit about my DD. I am staying up in Bodega to finish up some projects, etc. and wonderful DH went home (even thought he hates to leave it up here) and they are in charge of tonight's routine and the morning routine tomorrow.

Anyhoo, DD just called to let me know that she had cleaned her room, got all of her school work together, (she had been out sick on Wednesday and Thursday and had make up work) her clean PE uniform and was checking in with me to see what she needed to prep for the morning!!

She even made more points by telling me that it was tough being mom, lots to remember, and that she missed me!!:cutie:

What a sweet kid!! Every now and then she really reminds me of how amazing she is!!:lovestruc

Karen
Awwww....how sweet! :lovestruc What a good girl!

We used to go there every visit for nachos! We loved the nachos in that restaurant:). I do miss the area and hope to visit soon.

Oh yeah! I also loved the buffalo burgers and the HUGE oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (and I think they had walnuts in them too). Haven't been there since 1995, so I'm not sure if the menu is the same. Thinking of visiting again either the end of May or October to take advantage of their before or after season specials. I miss it so much! So many great memories with the people I worked with and lived with in the dorms there. :goodvibes

There is a stretch of Roberts between Little River Turnpike and Braddock.

We live west of Baltimore in a little burg called Eldersburg.

I know Eldersburg....very lovely town!! Long and Foster is an account of mine..I need to visit their offices. I deal with Joe DeLuca in Eldersburg.

Who was the buyer?

I do not understand the questions....who was the buyer of what??

I grew up in Burke! Graduated from Lake Braddock (if I had lived a few more blocks over, I'd have gone to Robinson).

I also lived in Montgomery Village for 4 years.....wow, small world.

My DH grew up in NoVA and sometimes think he knew every teenage in Arlington and Fairfax!! Montgomery Village is a nice community!!

DrHug's first job was at 10 years old, he set up a ride and then sold tickets and ran the brake that stopped the ride at the carnival that came for the fair. The job only lasted 2 weeks, the carnies wanted to take him and his 13 yo friend with them for the summer on their canival tour. His parents said NO! Wonder why. :confused3

Oh my gosh! Ummm......SCARY!

His next job was at 12 yo setting pins at the bowling alley. Now I expect that not many, if any, of you remember when there was not an automated pin setter. They had people who where down there at the end of the alley who would grab the pins and throw them into the rack that would come down and set them. He covered as many as 4 lanes, jumping back and forth over the racks, hoping to not get hit with a ball coming his way.:worried: He worked from after school until midnight. Wonder why his grades suffered. He got fired when he refused to stay until 2 am one night (a school night) when some guys wanted to stay and bowl. :(

I'm sorry, but I'm picturing a cartoon with a little hamster running back and forth like crazy, dodging bowling balls! :rotfl2:

Ack!!! How frustrating for you! I know they won't do it, again. (She types, hopefully, as her own permanent marker incident was last week with a Green sharpie on a light wood table.... Oh, and oldest once made a road with markers on the tan carpet IN A RENTAL home....)

Feel your pain...

Carolyn
Oh my gosh! I'm SO not ready for those wonderful experiences! :faint:

Who was the buyer?

OK, on the last cruise, I did a lot of proof reading and spell-checking of other's posts - almost to distraction. I quit after a while, but some are just too good to pass up.

Re-read your post that I quoted . . . verrrrry carefully.

Bad news...:sad1: They don't have the largest limo bus in Orlando. It is in Miami or something. Anyhoo, we can get this:

If I recall, a lot of the people signing up for the Hummers were coming without their children? We could take some youngsters in this one and maybe the the Hummer be more for adults? I think I will be booking this - we are a family of 6 so we have room for 2-4 more families, depending on the size of the family. If ends up just us, my kids will have a blast so no worries! It is $400/one way (I forgot to ask if that included tip - he thought I was pretty crazy calling so early!). Anyway, let's assume it didn't - add $60 so $460. If we got 20 people, it would be $23/each person.
So - if any families want to join us - PM me and let me know! Lisa

CORRECTION! Don't PM me about the transportation. You should PM Fourmcds. Kaylee is organizing all of it! I will look into the Brunch option at the Hyatt once we get closer. Thank you! Lisa

I'm staging a revolt. We're running away to Maui on Wednesday. Wanna come? I don't even look at my gas bill. We have budget billing and pay the same every month, so I save myself the heart attack and just don't look. We have a 3 story, 100+ year old house with old drafty windows, so the shock of this month's bill just might kill me. :crazy2:
Wednesday? Lets leave Tuesday and just stay there until winter's completely gone! :thumbsup2

I try not to look at my bill either, but eventually have to when they start calling me asking for their money! :rotfl2:

Dr. Hug sounds like quite a guy! Lots of initiative!

I remember the bowling alley in my little town had guys who were pin setters. There was also a "tip ball"--a tennis ball with a slit cut in it so you could put some $$ in it and then throw down the alley to the pin setters. I bet Dr. Hug cleaned up on the tips if he was covering 4 lanes!:goodvibes

DH was a pin setter, too!! In East Toledo...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I didn't catch it the first time either....just went back to read her post again. Good catch, John!

Just back from our EOY Manager's dinner at the Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain. What an awesome resort! We ate outdoors at sunset (80 degrees at 5pm). The terrace we were seated overlooked Mummy Mountain forward and Camelback Mountain behind us. It was a very nice event.

First job for Leslie at age 15 - lifeguard at Bear Valley resort in Tehachapi, CA.

First real job was as a GTF at the University of Oregon.

First job for Shawn at age 17 - prep at Mary's Pizza Shack. Those in the North Bay might have heard of this local chain. Cut the tip of his finger off on a deli slicer. Someone got a little more than pepperoni on their pizza that night! All the talk of Bodega Bay and the Russian River brings back many memories of high school.

Second job was at Robinson's at Fashion Island in Newport Beach (LiserAnn, too many things in common!)

It can be annoying Holly, so I try not to do it too often . . .

But like I said, some I just can't pass up pretending to be clever.

I am the guy who while driving is looking at all the signs on the roadside, and checking spelling, grammar, and syntax - I also read every sign while driving. Can really annoy Amy sometimes . . .

Another option on the bracelets is that we just order our own. We did that on the last cruise and it worked good. We all had to pay shipping but if I remember right is was not that expensive because the bracelets are so light. I don't know just a thought.

My typing is never very good.....very, very fast ....but never very accurate.
Today, while fixing my lunch, I cut off the top of my finger...left hand middle finger......the huge bandage makes my typing even worse.
OUCH!!

OK, so I have over 400 days to convert you all to the digital age . . . two of our friends on our last cruise were just like this . . . we got them both iPods and converted them.

YES! I was Ipodless and totally clueless. Now I LOVE it!!!! I don't have to blare the CD player at one end of the house to hear the music while I clean the rest of the house...neighbors will really love that when the weather warms up & the windows are opened. ;) It took me way too long to get the nerve up to try it honestly...but now that I can download music to it I am going to be using this ALL THE TIME!!! :thumbsup2 Thank you again!!!! :cool1: :flower3:
