There are going to be alot of kids carry booze into the terminal, sigh....

Pj

Well, I haven't done that one, but on the 10 day Christmas Cruise for 2004, I think the one family from Florida (from the disboards, Jim maybe?) carried like 31 bottles of wine in their backpacks. Him, his wife and all his kids had backpacks with all the wine in them!

Well DCL this morning said to me that a box of wine COULD be a carry on. So we shall see what happens at port I suppose. I wonder if they will enforce the no coolers rules now though?

I am hestitant to call to see what answer I get - we can carry on wine, but not put it in our luggage?

It is Outback Steakhouse Aussie Cheese Fries with Ranch Dressing

I knew it!! That was going to be my guess - why? - BECAUSE IT'S MY FAVORITE THING THERE! Well, that and Sydney's Sinful Sundae!!

 that will be me! John is a pretty strong guy, and now that he has been working out a lot, there is no reason he can't be loaded down!:thumbsup2

Still can't believe this. Makes no sense at all but confirms that credit card companies will make up all kinds of rules to put in the little tiny fine print to try to swindle people out of money.

As if they didn't do this all along!!! :rotfl: It reminds me of the Amex card I got in college... all I wanted was the free umbrella they were giving away!!! :rotfl2:

Up here in chilly NorCal my heater is set at a toasty 72 all the time. I don't mind the bill as much as I mind the cold. :rotfl: I am a total WIMP!

Well, seeing as it was 24 last night... BUT.. I'm in shorts at least running around the house so that must mean that spring is indeed coming soon!!!

I am thinking about buying new bags, who had this sale going if you don't mind sharing?:flower3:

Marr.... Buy Lands End... can't kill them and if you do... they are guaranteed... period... I had them replace ones because the zipper failed (it was my girlfriends diaper bag I bought for her shower...)

Lisa,

This is the first cruise that we are going to spend some extra money. In the past, although they were only 4-night cruise, we only spent money on the tips and that was it.

This upcoming cruise is the first one where we're be spending money beyond the tips.
.

So that's why you're sticking around with me!!! It's those Fruity Fatty Boozy drinks I keep mentioning!!! :rotfl:

Hmmm ... Points?:rotfl:
.

You have GOT to be KIDDING!!!

I still check every once in awhile . . .

I bet this was posted as I was told to keep it down while reading HP - because "Donny" was singing "Puppy Love" on TV . . .

Ok... Where's the SWOONING smiley!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

I can heartily recommend the hot stone treatment! mmmmmm did that on the TA last year!

I got it!!! Can't wait!!! :yay:

Linda, you missed out your Mexican outfit!!:rotfl:

I'm sure that won't be the only thing I'll be forgetting.

Of course, we are all being told this and then we will get to the port and the porters will be wondering where all our luggage is.

I wonder if we can ask someone on a cruise before us to scope it out with the porters at the terminal and see what they can find out for us.

now I am shaking in my boots...no carry on booze?

I noticed that you posted on the main site. Did you find anything out? I don't know if we can afford this cruise if we have to buy all of our drinks on board!!!:scared1:
Kathie

So are you taking the plastic bottle in the carry on and see what happens???

I had hoped to pack the wine so I did not need to carry it with me in the carry-on - but pooh - now what to do.

I assume we will hear more before May...

there used to be a porter who posted....I think his name was Bob....wonder if he will check in anytime soon?

I just called back WOW they must LOVE me huh

I was told the carry on which by the way they call a day bag for some reason can be up to 9x14x22 but really do you thing anyone will try to measure our bags? I don't think so.

....patiently waiting for pics from the DIS meet.....
Time to throw on my glad rags and meet Cheri for lunch!! Our own mini, mini meet! I wonder if we (the Sisters) will be able to talk her into sharing Claim Jumper's mondo chocolate cake for dessert? Whadda ya think? :thumbsup2

..later kids...

.

It was so much fun to get together with "the sisters!" However, I was a little disappointed in my red velvet cupcake--not very red and not very velvety. Next time I want what you guys had!

For you DSLR people -
Is it a waste to buy the 18-135mm? Am looking for my "daily" lens.
TIA!

Back when I was shooting film and used a Minolta, that size lens was about what I used. I thought it was perfect for daily use--not too bulky, but versatile.

Okay I hope this works! Here's the photos of my daughters and their cars!!! I will keep looking for a photo of me with them!!! (Can you tell I'm the photographer?:confused3 )

Very clever!

V. I enjoyed the pics of the birthday party, too!

Here are some of the pics from yesterday's Breakfast Meet.
Sorry about the size, but Photobucket changed the resize edit and is SO Slow

YOU ANIMALS! We can't let you go anywhere!!!:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Like I said I bet portside they wont really refuse a bag. Where in the heck would they expect us to put it. Plus many are doing WDW then the cruise then DL. So if you need extra bags they should allow it since you paid so dang much for the trip.

I love my hot stone treatment it's my favorite:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

on embarkation day DCL is going to put all the GTY's in a room and let us fight for our room numbers:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
actually there will be 1 less room than people in gty, kinda like musical chairs. so there will be i group still in the real life boats LOL

I have seen the carry-on coolers in the past and I have taken wine in my carry-on suitcase in the past. This was as of December 2007 - however.

We may need to wait for some returning cruisers to see what is happening.

Disney had told me in the past that they had the luggage restrictions - 2 bags per person, although the Carnival site has no such restrictions, I am looking for that Coast Guard requirement....

and the big Absolut bottle comes in plastic.....;) no breaking!

hmmm, vodka and coke with lime. I was thinking of picking up the 1 pint plastic bottle of a vodka and a rum maybe, that would be good for a couple of weeks on a ship. I hope we can still bring at least the plastic bottles.

I think this has to do with the xray machines that we will put our bags through at the doors.
