Forgot to add: I've just always been one of those rare low maintenance gals. :thumbsup2

Marilyn and Cork, I just heard from my TA. She was able to put in the 8 PM request for me but not anyone else. I know that Cork emailed DU but I can't remember if you were able to do all of us or not. If not, Marilyn, I am afraid you will have to contact your TA. :flower3:

BOTH! Not me though. My style is to throw a bunch of clothes in a suitcase the night before, right before I head to bed. Grab my bathroom stuff in the morning after my shower and toss that in. Tyler does the same, plus some books & a few favorite toys, and I double-check his stuff. That's it! Simple and stress-free.

We'll buy things in preparation for the trip. After all the tuxes are only being bought for the cruise, though the choice to buy them now, rather than waiting was driven more by choices becoming limited as prom season approached, rather than any great need to have the tuxes in our hot hands now.

I sometimes find myself wondering about living in the future too much. My mother always used to say, "Live today. Stop planning your life away."

For us, I can't imagine packing now. I mean more or less we know what we'll be taking. A week before, we'll make sure that the summer clothing is washed, and then we'll pack the night before we leave.

If I do any major advanced prep it's more about electronic stuff, making sure I've assembled all the right cables, chargers, memory cards etc, let we forget anything.

Otherwise, it's all really simple. Count stuff out and put it in a suitcase.

Still, I come back to living too much in the future? I also sometime wonder whether the actual event can be anticlimactic after all of the anticipation?

(Yes I know this is not my usually fluffy banter)

Welcome over here Susie, I was just bragging about your white boards for the midship door monitors on the TA cruise.
I am willing to do the boards again. I did 5 last time because we didn't have many people on deck 1. Do we have people on deck 1 this time? Have people volunteered yet to host one of the boards? Mid deck is probably the best location.

Good morning everyone! Well, today was the day...I started a fitness boot camp...and that it was. At one point, I almost threw up-it passed but it was my first time and she said that does happen to many people. Thursday should be much better. I can tell this will get me back into shape. I may not be in perfect shape by sailing but a lot better than where I'm at today. My arms already hurt. Walking tomorrow should prove to be interesting...:lmao:

Ok all - in lieu of a conversation I overread on here a few days ago, I just wanted to post this here. I hope I don't get into trouble, I just thought if I enjoyed it - maybe so would others - and also keep our soldiers in mind - I have chosen to sponsor 2 soldiers for a year - I started in December and have made a pledge to continue for this year. They don't want much - just a line or two here and there. If anyone is interested in something like this - please feel free to PM me and I can give you more info.

Some of you may have already seen it - I hadn't but I think it bears showing - if allowed.

Darn - no patriotic smiley here.

I have always thought that was a great video!

WOW! I'd love to do something like that, but thought that only existed in reality tv shows. ;) I guess I'll do some checking around and see if there's anything like that in my city. :cool1:

ok, so how do I take video with my Canon and then how can I upload it, and what format will it be in? The book has me a bit baffled.....

There are two ways to take video with your Canon.

1) You can simply push the red button on the back of the camera regardless of what mode you are in. When you push the button, it will start to record. Push the button again and it will stop recording. In the bottom right hand corner it will start a countdown as to how much time you have recorded (or have left to record on the memory card).

2) The other method is a little more convoluted as you have to take the rotary dial on the top (the one with AUTO on it) and turn it so that it points to the movie camera. Then use your shutter release to start and stop the video recording.

Remember that each time you record video it will have to stop and write it to the card before you can do anything else with the camera (take pictures or record more video).

I personally prefer method #1 as the camera is easily set to take a photo once you are done. And it is so much easier than messing around with the dial.

As for uploading the video to your computer - it is the same method as uploading pics. Just put your card in the card reader and use whatever program you want to to upload the pics and vids to whatever spot on your computer you have set it for. I just use the Windows XP Scanner and Camera Wizard as it is simple for me. The movies will be in *.avi format.

I hope that helps.

Ok, just catching up....

Lisa/Calmom... As i remember, you must cancel 3 days before sailing for excursions and 3 days before treatment for spa. BUT thats trying to remember from last year. Here's what I did for our med cruise because I was vasillating so much...booked everything before to save the space. Cancelled a couple of ones I wasn't sure of before we left for barcelona, then rebooking at port, confirming the cancellation policy if I changed my mind.

Woody/Kelly..the ride home was quiet, but nice. All was resolved before we left and both fell asleep for much of the ride. So I sang off key and really loud! If I couldn't sleep, neither should they!

Nan- After this adult trip, I am totally thinking I should make this a bi-annual thing. One year take the kid and one year go with another adult or even by myself. I was so nice to not have the whining and begging and have to get little ones ready or watch disney channel all night long! Although, I did see they had a build a bear thing through the hotel and my dd would have loved that...oh well. I did get her replacement mickey earrings so she'll be styling on the cruise.

My request was added on Sunday.:)

Had to ask are you chatty in person?

He's an excellent conversationalist!

Most people don't know where their rooms are located as of now, but I'll volunteer for deck 6.

WillogbyClan...yes, contact lillygator for the aruba info.

and it was nice to meet Woody and Kelly. After leaving you two, I picked up my cousin on main street and went over to pacific wharf to have my broccoli/cheddar bread bowl, YUMMY! Then we went on screamin' single rider line and walked right on all of us in the same car, perfect! Then we did some souvenier shopping and got in the car and headed home. I should have done buzz one more time...since I got my high score this trip...194000! No kid turning my car around, making me miss! I love buzz...such a fun ride.

Try googling "fitness boot camps" and include your town/city name. It was really intense...and, I can't believe I'm saying this because I hate exercising, it was FUN!!!!

Good news!

Yes, it was fun to do grown up rides without worrying about anything else.

Also, for those of you first timers to disneyland, there is an attraction as you walk in on the right side called 50 years of magic/disneyland. It's just a museum but it's very interesting. Gives some great info on the park and changes and it has a scale model of space mountain. I took the 21 year old who was with us and he just stared at that model for 15 min. trying to figure it out. We walked out with him saying, "but the building doesn't look that big, how do they do that?"

HELP!

What time should I have the shuttle pick us up at the Port in LA??

Any ideas??? I'm completely lost.

I know I'd love it because if I'm forced, I'll do much better with exercise. I just did a search and all I found was a 1-day, 75 minute "boot camp" session with some guy named Rocco. :guilty: I'll look at surrounding areas too and see what comes up. It would be just what I need to kick start my motivation to start getting back into shape. :thumbsup2

How long does yours last and for how many days? And how long is each session?

Nope, she is sort of playing two guys right now and it may come back to bite her. Her problem is - she has NO self esteem, she is such a pretty girl and thinks that these two guys are it as far as what she has to choose from!??! I keep telling her to shop around, there are much more fish in the sea!

DH is August 3rd as well

Heck at her age the idea should be that one will find you. No need to settle, when it is right it will happen. When I was younger I seemed to end up with the fixer upper boyfriends. You know they would be great if they fixed this or fixed that. LOL Before I had kids I mommied my boyfriends. Sometimes it takes longer to see that nobody should settle for less. I have since learned my lesson. :rotfl: No mamas boys for me thanks.

The money thing about her not understanding. I am sure she will have no clue until she gets a taste of the real world biting her in the butt. Living on your own spending your own money is a wake up call to a lot of twentysomethings when they move out.

I'm going T/Th/Sat (she also has M/W/F) and it's one hour. I'm taking the 12 week one but she offers 4, 8 and 12 week sessions. 12 weeks was a better deal and also comes with the option to sign up for maintenance at a great reduced fee.

well besides my cold, I had a terribly realistic dream and cannot go back to sleep. Someone was after me, stalked me to my office and had a gun, I shot him in the head but he didn't die and when he got better he kept coming after me.

OMG that's horrible! Were you watching something scary on tv or something before?
