Wanted to let you and all the other DISers know that we are closing down our Wine Shop this weekend... for good.:sad2: We will more than likely still be selling wine on our website, unless we can sell it all this weekend.

We want to thank you and John and our other DIS friends for your support. We just couldn't survive the economy, bad landlord, and other issues.

We hope to see you all soon!!

We are booked for Tortola in June of 2009. Can't do September as Alex will be starting High School:scared1: (Just shoot me now...)

Karen, Ted and Alex

Karen, I'm sorry to hear this but as Woody said, better things must certainly lie ahead for you. Thanks so much for all you did to make the Champagne Girls event something I'll never forget! I hope we can meet in person some day!

Well, I've just returned from 2 days of attempting to lecture/teach while having a nasty sinus infection.....

Hope you feel better soon, Kelly!

We did get through all of the Lost, Ugly Betty, Grey's anatomy, Dancing w/ stars and several other show (still have Moonlight waiting for me.) It was fun to just watch our favorite shows. :)

I've only had my DVR less than 24 hrs. and I can see why everybody loves them! I recorded a couple of movies that were showing on HBO yesterday.

I'm done for today and ready for the big Lost tonight. Jonathan was supposed to do a big presentation tonight and they cancelled because it conflicted with Lost and there were way too many industry parents at the school. :lmao: :lmao: Only in LA. :lmao:

That's funny!

btw, xrays showed no pnemonia so I'm relived. Got my antibotics and I've been sleeping this afternoon.

It's nice to see everyone checking in and doing so well. Love to hear about what everyone thought and what their favorite things were.

We didn't do laundry on board (ha no suprise with 8 pieces of luggage) and had a little clean to take home. Next time I cut down by one bag, just one bag not one person :rotfl2:

time for my late late afternoon nap. check back later.

Nan, how are you today?

I don't how many of you all know I was directly across fromt he laundry on the 6th floor.

Dear Lisa:

Thank you for speaking with me.

As promised, I would like to confirm that upon your November 22, 2008,
arrival on the Disney Magic, we will apply a $200 credit toward your
onboard account, which may be used toward any merchandise or services
purchased onboard our cruise ship or at Disney's Castaway Cay. Your
reservation has been appropriately noted to include this credit. If you
have any further questions, please feel free to call me at 407-566-7309.

Again, we deeply regret any disappointment and hope that this will not
affect your regard for Disney Cruise Line. It continues to remain our
goal to exceed our guests' expectations, and we look forward to
welcoming you aboard soon.

Sincerely,

Joseph Paris
Executive Correspondent

Disney Cruise Line

Good for you, Lisa, to not give up until they did something!

We are back!! What can I say - it was fantastic!

Marilyn, it's great to "hear" your voice!;) Glad you made it home without incident!

I was wondering about that also. Sounds like everyone else went straight to bed that night too! (or to the bars....)

We were having WAY too much fun at my birthday celebration, remember??? While others closed the bars, we closed the dining room! :rotfl2:

One more day of work and training. Hopefully I can get my work caught up next week. NO WAY am I going in this weekend without being able to get time-and-a-half...too much stuff to do at home!
.....time to hit the shower.....
.

Jackie, I'm going to be dog-sitting next week and will down in the valley part of the time. I'll call you--maybe we can get together?

I've been working on getting my pictures on line and then will try to get my thoughts together for my trip report. I took over 1500 pics and am trying to delete SOME. We'll see how I do.

Hope everyone is having a good Friday.....can't believe we've been off the ship not even for a week....does it seem alot longer to anyone else besides me????

I was just thinking about that this morning..."This time last week, we were..." :( It does seem longer ago than a week.

Sometimes I feel like I should still be on the ship going to Topsiders or a show or something and sometimes it seems like we have been home forever.
Carol

Same here. I've bookmarked the kitties' web site but haven't read it yet. It looks really cute! I see you're a fellow Mac user!

I don't like my siggie anymore, it looks bare!

Marilyn, I say "Once a Champagne Girl, always a Champagne Girl!" My pink Tink is staying!

I want it to be this time last year.

I want to book another cruise with all the same people so I can put that on there. I had so much fun at the champagne tasting. I wish I didn't have to go to dinner. That truly was one of the best memories for me.

We for sure should plan a get together soon. I did see some chatter a day or so ago about a party at my house. :rotfl: But seriously... we do need to plan on something.

Bubba just asked me if we could go to the park this weekend. But alas, we have so much laundry still to do and since the $300 store was closed on monday, we still need to restock the kitchen. We can only get there on Sat or Sun. Looks like you guys are going on friday. But we are planning on maybe next weekend.

I just renewed my annual pass so I'm up for a Ship of Thieves DL Reunion meet! Wish I lived an hour away instead of 6 hours away!

Hi Marilyn, I'm not so great today, seems now I've got a bit of blood in my cough. I think I'm not drinking enough, so I better up my intake of fluids today.

Yes, that ballroom was a bust. I was hoping for some dancing with my DH that night, but alas.

Sorry to hear that many of you are sad. When I find myself feeling wistful, I look at pictures to cheer me up. Good Memories and more fun times ahead.:moped:

Well, please take care and get well.

We are still in CA. We will spend a few more hours at DL today and then we will have to head home. The shuttle is picking us up at the hotel at 6 this evening. We are thinking we will just spend from noon to 5 at DL and see what shows we can see. We have not yet seen the Dapper Dans this trip and we love to listen to the music in New Orleans Square. We did finally get to ride on Lillie Belle yesterday. What a treat!

Hi Angie. Wish we were still ther with you, but at least our marathon trip home is over now i suppose.

A wise lady on the elevator on the ship told me to not be sad it is over, but rather happy that it happened. I thought that was a wonderful way to look at it. :thumbsup2

That is an excellent saying and so true.

Hope you feel better soon! We both have a cough that doesn't want to go away - but isn't getting any worse either - just very annoying!

I think we might go to DL on the 13th. Any chance you guys will be around there then?

Lisa, I started with that cough half way into the cruise! The antibiotics I brought with me knocked it out. The last day I started coming down with a cold--I can tell the difference by how it feels. I think I only have another day or two before I'm over that.

Hi Nan. How are you feeling? It was funny about the ballroom night as we spent so long discussing it and what might happen, and it was just a damp squib!

Marilyn, you have the BEST expressions!

Samantha's graduation is tomorrow. I hope we make it. Ok, it's a moving on party - i can't help but think now starts life - homework, responsibility, etc. Ah, to stay little forever.

I really miss being on the cruise.

It seems like once they start school it's just a blink until you're staring high school in the face! Enjoy these days. My nephew is 10 and he's such a blast to be with! But every time I see him or talk to him on the phone he's more and more grown up. I talked to him last night (after about a month) and he sounds so grown up!

I'm so glad I shot all the pictures I did! There's way too many to ever share with other people, but I love looking at them myself. And I've downloaded a lot of the pics people have posted, too!

They are out on 6-11. She is miserable but she insists on going. This week she has had a field trip, performance at the assembly, girl scout meeting and today is the last share day. She loves school anyway but especially this week.

I always felt sorry for kids who were sick at the end of school. The last week or two always has a lot of fun stuff going on.

Angie, it sounds like you're having a great time! I love to have time at DL to just walk around. Glad you got to ride the Lillie Belle. Have you ever ridden in the wheel house of the Mark Twain or behind the engineers on one of the trains? Those two things are on my "bucket list".

A wise lady on the elevator on the ship told me to not be sad it is over, but rather happy that it happened. I thought that was a wonderful way to look at it. :thumbsup2

She is right. We should be happy we were all able to take this special trip and enjoy all the friendships that were made and renewed.

This is the way to look at it. Be glad it happened! Good reminders.:lovestruc

Cheri, you just let us know when ever you schedule allows you to come over and we will be there.:thumbsup2

I signed up for the AP lottery to ride Toy Story before it opens. If I get it, it would be the second week of June. I don't know if I'd actually make the trip just for that, but I figured I might as well give it a go and see what happens! I'll let you know!

We got home last night and I haven't had time to read the posts since the cruise. It was nice to meet all the people that we were able to meet. Sorry some of you are sick. We did spend 4 days at DL and decided that we do like WDW much better! Better food and less crowds! The DL hotel is in great need of many repairs. I can't believe the way that Disney has let it go! I am trying to get 3 weeks of laundry done since I have company coming in on Wednesday and lots of appointments on Monday and Tuesday. I booked a dummy date so I can't wait to see where the ship is going in 2010!

Hi Gydell,
I'm so glad I had a chance to meet you and visit a little at FishLips since I hardly saw you on the ship! Hope we can cruise together another time!:goodvibes

We went up but no one was there. Didn't hear anything about it but it looked like maybe it had rained - decks were all wet.

It was too cold for Ballroom Under the Stars outside, so it was moved to Rockin' Bar D but DCL didn't publicize that. We were one of only three couples there, along with Nikki the dance instructor. We had a good time, but we were disappointed that there weren't more people. I think DCL really dropped the ball on that one. Brent didn't mention the ballroom dancing at all at the early Disney Dreams show. :confused3 There were also a couple of really cute kids who came by all dressed up & ready to dance (I think I saw Holly and Tyler peek in), but cast members made them leave because it was after 9:00 pm. That was too bad because they would have been able to participate if the venue hadn't changed.

And perhaps inlcude Northern California in that trip???

Miss you guys!!

Hope you enjoy Vegas!!! Wish we were there with you!

Karen, Ted and Alex

Karen:

So sorry to hear about the shop:hug: This is a rough time for so many.

THANK YOU for all the hard work you did putting together the info for the champagne girls!!!! I wish I could have stayed through the whole thing, but I had a massage booked and just couldn't pass that up :goodvibes What I did taste and see of your video was wonderful!

We are back!! What can I say - it was fantastic! I think I managed to meet most of you, but didn't manage to spend time with you all. Could be you were all out partying when I was in bed! You were all great, and perhaps someday we will get to meet again. I think you all helped make the cruise so special.
!

Marilyn: Glad you made it home safely! It was wonderful to meet you (in our matching shoes :thumbsup2 ). I think I only managed to meet half of the people from the list.....again, were did the time go?! :confused3

I think we are all depressed and I'm letting it move on to the other parts of my life. I know it's because I'm off the ship but keep wondering if it is something else.

I have been soooooooo exhausted through the days. I am falling asleep really early every night and (listen up Lisa.....) dragging myself out of bed in the am...which is so not like me. I wonder if I did pick up something on the ship or if I am really just so sad that this trip is over! :(

death warmed over is my current condition. :( The good news is no appetite, great for losing weight.:rolleyes1

Well hope you get your appetite back soon, but enjoy the weight loss in the meantime. I never ever lose my appetite.:confused3

I look back and say the same - where did it go? When i think about what we did there is so much spare time we must just have lounged about or something!!!:confused3

I'm sure you'll be fine with a little help from the BRAT diet and Charmine!

Party sounds good and DL. My b-day is 6-16.

hey, that is Jaide's bday too! More geminis in the group! I am a gemini as well, but I think we already had this conversation......

A wise lady on the elevator on the ship told me to not be sad it is over, but rather happy that it happened. I thought that was a wonderful way to look at it. :thumbsup2

That is a great way to look at it. And, I agree with Nan...looking at the pics help. I have gotten quite a few laughs looking at Mark and Scott in their pics with that crazy juggler! :rotfl2:

I can't get over it. We all need to book another cruise together. That's the only way!

I think I eat more when I'm sick, unless it's a stomach flew.
