Can I just say thanks for the overnighters who DIDN'T make me read 50 pages last night.....10 was good.

To JHalkias: I am happy to hear that the prognosis for your brother is good. I will keep him in my prayers.

I have had a horrible weekend, too much to get into, but they have started the preliminary hearing for the guy who killed my husband and the testimony is being splashed all over the headlines here and everyone is asking me about it. The grand jury is convening in May, which will hear this case I assume, unless it gets some put off for some reason. We will be gone starting May 9th. I just want to avoid as much of the media exposure for now because I don't think that we are strong enough for it yet.

I have also jammed my thumb and it hurts!! It turned a bit blue and is swollen. It is a little better this morning, but all the movement from typing does make it hurt a bit.

I want to get on this cruise and laugh and smile. I think that having some fun will help me more than anything.

Tammy

Hugs and prayers to you and your kids, Tammy.

Here are some of the friends who are just waiting to see you!

Hey Nan!!

If you like me after you meet me....can I tag along to Japan????

wow, the Flower and Garden show sounds great. This is the first year in a while that we haven't been! :( Maybe we'll have to take a day trip.

Are you arriving early before the cruise? You could pop in then. I'm really looking forward to seeing Epcot at this time.

Anybody check for room assignments this morning?

You should know you don't need to ask that question!!!

The answer to the next one would be NO, no room assignment!:sad2:

I have always believed that we all have a certain number of days on this earth, we don't know how many that is. In my beliefs, only God knows. I have to believe that it was my DH's time to go. I have to believe that my DH had a wife and two children who loved him dearly, and he will be missed by many many people. My best friend told me that I was married for 18 years to a man that I loved and loved me back. She said I was lucky to have had him and that not everyone can say that. She wasn't being mean, just trying to get me to cherish the love that we had and concentrate on that rather than the loss that I feel. Some days I can. Other days I can't.

Sorry to be so serious. Go give your kids and your spouse a big hug and tell them that you love them! I guess that is the point of this post.

Thanks for listening...

Tammy, my heart goes out to you. I lost my father very suddenly and tragically. I, too, believe I shouldn't let a day go by without telling those I love how special they are to me. Thanks for the reminder.

John....glad to hear he made it through surgery well and that it did not spread to his liver. It sounds like it will be a long road, but that his prognosis is looking good. Will keep you all in my thoughts. It is probably good that the cruise is 30ish days away so you can make sure he is all settled in his routine before you head out for 15 glorious days of R&R, great fun and Disney!

OK...what the heck are you all doing? 171 pages since Friday late night???? I miss Sat & Sun and you all go wacko on me.

I doubt I'll catch up before you're on the next thread, but I'll try. Super busy today at work but wanted to say HI. I'm back on page 23, skimming like crazy, but have too much work here to get any further probably.

Super fun weekend though! It was finally warm enough to do outside stuff! So on Saturday, after one of Tyler's classmate's birthday party, I took him to a playdate at a park with another classmate. Sunday we spent the day at the Detroit Zoo. :cool1:

Hi Holly,
It sounds like you and Tyler had a fun weekend!

Ian has created a store, kind of like the CafePress store, where you can get shirts, etc. with some designs he came up with. Here's the link:

Good to hear from you!

you guys were chatty last night.
gaylean, loved the pics, Brooke has long hair! Makes me wish Samantha had not hacked hers off.
We watched Next last night with Nicholas Cage and jessica Biel...good movie I thought.

I thought we were good last night. I still couldn't sleep after I got off but I refused to come back because I needed to rest. I have only cut Brooke's hair once. I will give her a trim before the cruise because it is uneven now.

Tammy: Thank you for sharing. Sharing must help to try and make sense of such a tragic situation. I hope that the media coverage stays low for you and your kids....that must be so difficult. Stepping foot on the Magic will be such a relief to you and your kids. I could not imagine being in your situation, and from your words believe you and your children are very strong and amazing.

Thanks for the reminder to cherish every day/moment...that is a well needed reminder for most!

Okay, I read the story. Seems that the robber was kicking the office door while my DH, a bartender and a cook were trying to keep the door closed. He fired multiple rounds through the door while yelling, Give me the money!. My DH was hit by one of the shots and later died. No one else was hit. The bartender pulled my husband into a back room after he was shot away from the robber.

Even if we do only have a certain amount of days on earth it still hurts to lose someone so special. I can't even imagine what you are going through. I think about your situation often and it does make me cherrish what I have now because I know it won't last forever. Your husband has impacted us all in some way or another. My prayers are with you and your family.

Marilyn, we are coming in late Friday night so no Epcot for us!

Well that is understandable given the length of the cruise and post stay. At least you can get a day there some other time - or next year.

Have to say we are planning a WDW trip next year so we will have longer to enjoy it.

32 days!

I bet gydell got her room assigned today! :)

I wonder?:lmao:
