No, the quote she used "Take me to bed or lose me forever" is from Top Gun. Carole (Meg Ryan) says it to her huband "Goose" (Anthony Edwards) in the scene where they (Tom Cruise, Anthony Edwards, Meg Ryan, Kelly McGillis) are all sitting around a piano drinking and singing.

Thus the pic of "Goose" with a thumbs up.

That was such a sad part.

NHo shopping today everyone is gonna go off and do other things! I know Nan is booked solid til the cruise but maybe Steph and I can get together and shop before then.

Would someone like to start posting a summary (like Laura used to) every 25-30 pages or so? Maybe we could get them on page 25, 50, 75, etc.

Believe me you had more fun in Maui. There hasn't been much going on this thread. Ian posted a link to order a shirt for the canal crossing. I think someone said it was page 149.

Would he be allowed to do some kind of survey for his project? We used to allow the kids at our school to do surveys, as long as they followed the steps of the scientific method. For instance, a very simple one would be "What is the favorite type of gum among the students in my class?" Make your hypothesis, tell why you predict that, then do a survey of all the kids. Write up your results, make a graph to illustrate, then discuss your findings.

I'll email their teachers this week and start to find out the details. I'm an over planner so I wanna know. My kids are on spring break this week, so perhaps I won't hear from the teachers until next week.

I don't know her. She was gone before I was here but she lived in the town I grew up in. Which is still only a few miles from me. I just thought that was interesting. Where is she?

she is battleing breast cancer. we aren't sure where she is. a flower arrangment was sent a while back, but we don't even know if she got it. sad we miss her witty comments.

Back from shopping. Got three pairs slacks, one top, one t-shirt dress type coverup and a pair of crocs. Total cash outlay .....$33. Gotta love those holiday gift cards!

The stop at Lens Crafters was a bust. They won't make only ONE lens. So I'm going to have to bite the bullet, get a new eye exam and new glasses before the cruise. Was hoping to put off that expense till the fall. I'll at least keep the frames I have. Oh well.................

Think I'll squeeze in a power nap, cause I have to stay up a little late for Jane Austen.

You remember the scene in the Blues Brothers where the El is going by, well, I have a funny story about that.

We had just bought the house, and we used to live on the second floor. You saw the El from our back kitchen windows. There's a big tree in the back, so the windows were blocked from the neighbors, but you could seen the El out the back window, and the windows in the back porch.

One Sunday morning, I get up, wander into the kitchen (butt naked) to make coffee. I'm standing with my back to windows, filling up the coffee maker, etc.

I suddenly have the eerie feeling of being watched. I turn around, and the El is stopped outside my windows. They're doing work on the tracks!

I guess the folks in that car got a show to go al ong with their El ride!
