Ok, so I want to get Photoshop Elements.
I take it that this is different then Photoshop? ::yes::?

Yes, if you are just doing some simple touch ups and doing digital scrapping it will keep you happy. Cheaper and a much easier software to learn.

Count me as another fan of PSE!! I'm still working with PSE 4 though. BUt am enjoying it.

However, I did find another FREE photo touchup software that I just downloaded and am waiting for some time to play around with.

Paint.net

http://www.getpaint.net/

It is an open source software and it has a pretty good Graphical interface. As I said I haven't played with it much yet, but I did try out the photo softening effect and really liked the results. Unfortunately, I didn't save anything to show but I did like it enough to keep it on my computer for another time when I can really look at it in-depth.

This link will show you some of the photoshop elements work I have toyed around with.
My Flickr "Photoshops"

(I do have to add one caveat: some of the stuff I did on there was when I first learning and sometimes I used Paint Shop Pro or others - so not all of them are PSE).

Marilyn  sometimes I get into that birthday funk too. Hopefully it will pass. I'll be thinking of you on that day my March birthday friend, mine is the next week on the 30th. One time I was lucky to share it with Easter, when I was 11. Not sure if it will ever happen again :confused3

Thanks Nan. I am feeling better now - usually just a very short pathetic feel sorry for myself time and I am over it!!

I used to always get Easter Eggs for my birthday when I was little and it was a pain. I used to go in and eat the back half and make sure it didn't look like it had been touched!!!!!!:rolleyes1

I have never managed to have Mother's Day on my birthday though. (Ours is usually in March - traditionally half way between Shrove Tuesday and Easter). Well, unless it was before I was actually a mother that is and it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I usually tell the children not to bother with buying flowers for Mother's Day, or my birthday if it is near, as they are far too expensive

I remember we talked about this last year. We have been chatting for over a year now so we will be repeating ourselves a bit!!!:lmao:

I love Photoshop Elements, under $100 and lots of freedom.

There are some really simple tutorials on line to get you started. And most of the "papers" and "elements" I collect for free from designer blog giveaways. I also collect templates that allow me to add in my papers and elements, a photo or two, can be done a page in about 15 minutes or so.

Love this site, so helpful and she creates some beautiful freebies, http://mistycatodesigns.blogspot.com/2007/03/layered-template-tutorial.html

Andrea does a template of the day (most days), love her work
http://scrapandrea.blogspot.com/

For the daily freebie search, these;
http://ikeagoddess.blogspot.com/
http://digifree.blogspot.com/
http://seebeesfreebies.blogspot.com/ has Disney themed freebie kits.

Alot of these have many pages so be sure to look at the older posts.

I loved paper scrapping, and will combine Linda's project with some digital work as well.

Marr, we are good, every 6 months or so the site's bandwidth is exceeded, takes a day or so and it comes back.

Our cars are named...

Mine...Honda Minivan Topanga (that was Wilson's in utero name)
(our best friends have it's twin, Vandango)

Paul's Honda Ridgeline Fandango

Our '55 Speedster, Little Red Car Vroom Vroom Vroom (you kinda have to sing this name)

Little Red wants to be a Mazda when it grows up????

Since I am lurking I thought I would just jump in and say 'hi'. I feel so out of the loop. We have gotten a foot of snow here during the last two days and I am loving it!:goodvibes

8 inches here!!! & after the nice guy came to clear my driveway... I love it too!!!

I'll bring the RUM :lmao: :lmao:

(and I thought it was 3500 a week when I glaced at it)

Do I bring the Tequilla???

it was that flood of sunflower seeds to the producers, did ya hear about it?

I heard it was peanuts... :confused3

Did I tell you about the $100 mickey shirt I bought from someone in the front of the stroller rental area at Dland....sad story, a woman obessed with getting that matching shirt...Paul sniped at me not to buy him anymore of those stupid matching shirts, so the kids and I had a matching set, we wore it for my birthday dinner and he felt really left out, then we saw this guy at Dland and exchanged emails the guy lived in San Jose and we met at the mall and he gave me the shirt and me $100. I had to have it!! And Paul had no reply...:sad2: He has never complained about the matching shirts since nor will he again....

& we thought V and ebay was a hit!!! (but I think she has MUCH more fun!!! of course she doesn't get to meet strange men in front of DL...;) )

I have no problem with matching..it's cute. My daughter has never been into it ..even as a baby, she would spit up on the matching outfit before we even would get out the door.

Touche'!!:rotfl2:

On Monday night we went to the trampoline place for a Boy Scout reward night for scouts selling over $1K of popcorn for their sales this year. That afternoon I got a scout magazine in mail, so while Wilson was off bouncing around I glanced thru it and FOUND HIS PICTURE!!!! Last year he also made this same party and he and 2 other friends had a totally cute pic taken by the photographer at the event. It was so cool. All the county can see his smiling face on the Tiger Cub page. I'll try to scan it, and post later. Just a proud mama moment :lovestruc

The prince now has publicity???? How appropriate!!!

we are, stay with us for one night at DISNEYLAND!!!!! We have planssssssssss.....

We do????

Wow only 40 mins and 12 pages to catch up from this morning. I hope everyone who went to DL on this very nice day, had a great time. I had to take groceries to a friend who is a shut-in this evening and now I have to continue preping tonight for quarter close on friday. I will try to keep up this evening.

Can someone send a pretty CM over to lifeboat 3 with another mug of beer for me?

Sure I'll make the call, what is your SR #, oops lifeboat # :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Nan's got it... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well, if the rum is all gone when I get there - I plan on bringing onboard some ginger ale - you never know how the seas are going to be!

Drink the rum... you'll feel better...

I had my hair done in Walnut Creek and the one I drive past in Concord has been gone for a while. :sad2:

I drove through there when I used to visit my sister when she lived out in Ripon!!! My favorite X stitich shop is in Modesto... I should visit again soon!!!

disneylover5 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space.

Lisa, please clear some space when you have time....

Her royal messages are being taken by the royal scribe... She's just SO popular!!! I feel a jealous fit coming on... Where are my smelling salts?????

Depending on how my young men are doing, I might just come home on Sat when we get off the ship, unpack, do a quick wash and then come down to play at DL with my guys. They like doing DL and with the special access pass, we can usually do all that they want to do in a single day. 2 men with special needs + 1 father = 9 others that can accompany us as we rush around and do the park in a day!

Humm have to give it some thought and check the purse strings. Might just be a good carrot if they start acting up while onboard.

Hey... we'll be there if you want to come and visit!!!

You two are bad bad girls...I'm going to call dvc tomorrow and see if they have a room...if they do, I'll be in. So there. Happy now, my cat will be sad that it will be longer, but she'll be used to being alone.

But can you afford the bill for the party she's throwing while you are away???

Ah, scrapbooking. I'm not sure I would ever do any, but I think I will go to Linda's class anyway to see how I get on.

Come... we'll order drinks... my pictures will come out slanted, but I'll have had FUN!!

I wrote to DCL this week to find out if I could get nutritional information for food/menu items on the cruise.

I explained that I was following Weight Watchers, and I would like to be able to calculate points values.

I did not say that I was a WW meeting leader.

I received this response this week:

" 2/27/08

Dear Ian,

Thank you for booking a Disney Cruise Line Vacation!

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a nutritional breakdown for the foods offered on the ship. However, please feel free to bring your listings with you in order to evaluate the foods once onboard.

In addition, you can get an idea of the nutritional value by checking out the sample menus for the restaurants you will dine in each night for dinner.

A list of sample menus for all main restaurants can be found by visiting our website at www.disneycruise.com. From the main page select Onboard Dining. Next, select Animator's Palate, Triton's, Lumiere's, Parrot Cay or Palo. Then, scroll down and click on View a Sample menu to
launch the menu.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you! Have a Magical Day!"

I'm not a surprised. I think it was worth a shot. I'm still corresponding with guest services about WDW food. The correspondence started this past August and they keep "losing" my emails.

I'm not upset, very mildly surprised as I would have thought they'd have a good handle on this info. I just wanted the info so I could make more informed choices throughout the day and figure out how to spend my points.

But still they were pleasant, and the writer of the email was obviously familiar with the Weight Watchers program.

.

I'M EATING WITH A WW LEADER??????

Oh man.... I'm sitting at the other end of the table!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
