Good thing I've got the tee shirt because I'm still in the Lifeboat! So that's what I'm wearing to the terminal along with my diser green shorts. That will make a great picture when getting onboard.

Yes, I will have a bathing suit on under and I will be going straight to Signals bar by the pool and sit at my favorite table and just say ahhhhhhhhh! We have arrived! Let the fun begin!

I previously posted about an excellent History Channel DVD "Modern Marvels, Panama Canal." It's done quite well and is very insightful. Panama Canal DVD

Woody

Thanks Woody,
We have seen it several times. Sometimes he is glued to the television during this program, other times he wanders in and out of the room. There is a lot of good stuff out there.

Venetia.....first let me say happy belated birthday wishes and hopes and dreams for Bubba. Hope he had a special celebration and that it continues for a month long.

Next, I called DCL and told them about doing a memorial service on Mother's Day on CC. I asked if Disney would have any objections to us organizing for a prayer and putting flowers in the water. I was told that I should speak with guest services when I get onboard and make the arrangements with them. They will help set something up for us. But we probably won't be allowed to take the flowers off the ship with us and we would have to find a private place to do the ceremony so that we don't possibly offend other people. Maybe we could light some candles instead. I think that would be nice. Maybe we could have the ceremony onboard early before going on shore. Either way, maybe you and I should coordinate and meet at guest services after the life safety drill on day one. What do you think?

For all the newbies, both Venetia and I lost our mothers this summer, just two days apart. We were both on these boards when it happened and we shared it with everyone here and supported each other throughout the event. This will be our first Mother's Day without our mom's, so we wanted to do something in rememberance of them. We'll be on CC. Everybody who wants to is welcome to join us.

Jackie, was it you who had posted that great poem at the time? Maybe we could just read that. If you have it, can you post it again. I'll copy and print it out this time so we have it available.

Thanks for the bday wishes for Bubba. He was going to post his thank you's to everyone last night, but he forgot his password and could not log on.

I will be right there with you at GS. I thought the flower idea might not fly. Maybe we could do something on secret deck 7, in the am before we go ashore. I like the poem idea, and maybe everyone who wants can share a memory that we each have of our mothers.

iam doing typon lagoon

I wanted to do that but DH doesn't like water parks

You could visit Downtown Disney.

Woody

That we will definatley do.

I lasted only 2 mornings getting up with the kids. This morning I woke them and told them to get me after they ate breakfast and got dressed...yes I took them to school in my jammies and bathrobe. Came home and slept until 9:30. I HATE MORNINGS, except on VACATION!!! Then I wake up at the crack of dawn...funny huh?

I didn't wake up until 11am today:scared1: . I was sick most of this week and was catching I guess.

DW is invited for lunch at Club 33 tomorrow, so I'll tag along to spend the day at Disneyland and California Adventure.

I asked DW to go out on a balcony during lunch and toss me a bread roll or two.

Woody

That sounds awesome! Take some pics. Our wedding videographer is a memember of Club 33 and said we could call him when we want to go.

exccccccccccccccussse me.....DH does not want to do Epcot - he needs to speak to my DH - he loves Epcot - Why not do AK in the morning and then stop at the Tusker House bar and watch the shows for a while. Take the water ride on the way out to cool off and get wet....Epcot in the afternnin to take advantge of the tickets - Spaceship Earth is now open again. Canada is revised for the show. Mexico added Donald for the little ones - and then, there is the flowers and topieries and, well, beer....

He likes Epcot but if he can only choose one park that wouldn't be it. We go to WDW at least once a year. We don't have kids . We just didn't want to pay for a one day ticket. We are staying at the Dolphin and I think we will go play mini-golf, do to DTD, and go see some of the hotels. We still might do a park it depends, I know someoe who works at MK and Epcot I am hoping they will hang out with us for the day if so we will do what they want.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: That made me day!

Tom, thanks for posting the reply from DCL.

There was only me online for our own reservation that night and it took me 5and quarter hours to get just one reservation so does that mean all the linked folk trying to book at once blocked everybody else?

Are you not linked with anyone for dinner?

I was given a book today, The Panama Canal, by Bob Considine. Written for the school age child. She discovered that our library is limited in information on the panama canal, so she's going to do some research on kid friendly books.

My daughters teacher has given me the ok to use this report/power point as her may book report. So we are a go.

Maybe we should have a "school" day on the canal day? Whaddaya think? We can do the whole report on canal day up on the deck of the ship. Brainstorming with the kids, taking pictures of the locks. Writing up the presentation on paper? Not too long, but with all the kids participating, we should have the infomation for the report quickly. I'll volunteer to read up about the canal and I'm sure there are other adults who are canal buffs who'd help guide the discussion?

Discuss and post feedback.

I don't have children there, but I think that is a really fantastic idea and I am sure parents would agree.

Not sure that I should admit this - but my dh is Auburnguy. He finally posted and that will probably be the last time you hear from him until the cruise!

I had a sneaking suspicion that was Bill, I should have asked....Tell him he gets his hat filled right behind me and I'm cat 4.... :scared1: :lmao:

If you mean mine, yes its new. I found it yesterday, If you click on it, it will take you to the website. They have lots of cute ones there.:)

I do a run/walk combo and we have said that we would organize a group who wants to meet to run/walk deck 4. We'll organize that a little closer to the cruise. You are welcome to join if you are a morning person:thumbsup2

The boys and I like to walk, so I may join you if I am not too tied over from the "Shots around the Ship" or the LBB Meeting the night prior!:drinking1
