Nice picture. Seal Beach is one of my old stomping grounds. Not too much stomping though, because I was 8, 9 & 10 y/o when we lived at Sunset Beach, on the Island, before Huntington Harbor. Is what we used to call RAY BAY still there? We used to body surf there. Had to slide our feet because there were a lot of Stingrays there. It was between the jetties, by the old power plant. Memories. (sigh).

Sorry DrHug - more of a Huntington Beach type of girl - I've only been here a couple of times -all those times by the pier to take soccer pictures although I did see this awesome surf shop with some nice placards - might have to go back there and check them out. Also, a lot of Jamba Juice, Cold Stone and Baskin Robbins as well as a Chicago type pizza place. The Italian restaurant was still closed else I would have stopped there. Oh yeah - the police satellite on the pier was interesting enough. When that happen?

Just thought I would thank everyone for their prayers and pixie dust. My cousin's husband went home Wednesday and is doing pretty good. He apparently has a condition that is affecting the sack around his heart. Apparently it doesn't squeeze the heart enough to allow enough oxygen which makes the heart think it is having a heart attack. At least that is what I think his dsil (my cousin, Cynde, across the street who was staying with them) said. When it comes to medical issues I am lost. When they got him to Riverside they couldn't find any blood clots so don't know what that was all about. Anyway, Cynde came home today and said that he is doing much better. Thanks again.

OK, I had to share this! Myhusband and daughter's pirate outfits arrived and I made them try them on!

They both look fab!!

My DH does flamework (working with glass rods and a torch). I asked him to make me a little fish to wear this Sunday night, hoping that it will bring us luck trying to make ressie for Palo's tea . This is his first attempt, will fine tune it later.

I have named him Little Blue.

I love it. Your DH is very talented.

It was a blast - we had toenails trimmed on 2, ears cleaned on 2, bloodwork and urinalysis on 1, shots on 2, and blood pressure checked on 1. None of them are currently speaking to us!

They put us in a really nice exam room with a couch and enclosed patio so the cats could watch outside while we waited.

I presume it is the cats you are talking about there!!!!!

Yes it is. I like to "watch tv while I scrap". It has to be something I don't really have to watch though so I normally watch the Disney Channel.

That makes sense. I sometimes play something on one of my monitors while working in the other.

A sincere note to all of our 105 & 90 Dayers....

We the small group of poor unfortunate 75 dayers will be venturing into fish infested waters as of midnight on the 25th...

We are a smaller group than all of you lucky CC members of the past. We have yet to experience the Magic of the Magic... The Wonder of the Wonder...the... Mickey bars delivered to our room 24 hours a day...

We are jumping into virgin waters (don't laugh Nan... ) We are set to fight the fish fight...to survive to the very last fish or until we all fall asleep at our keyboards...

We will of course learn from all of your experiences and injest lots of caffeine and sugar...wear our warmest jammies and try not to wake the entire neighborhood if I get even the first number of my reservation entered before the site goes down...

It is my sincere hope that you will all be gentle with us when you also try to fight to get those elusive Palo ressies on the very first time we can actually do more than dream about it.

Please leave us in our caffeine and Smarties induced Haze to fight the fishes alone...

Please give us newbies a chance...

oh of course, it's just so strange for someone who doesn't live like this to understand.

Today we met with her therapist. It was good, but also very sad. We had our behaviour of sparing the kids from her reinforced. That was a big saving issue for me. I have been feeling guilt over keeping the kids from her (they can't be with her alone or overnight) I just don't feel safe with that. The sad info was that she concluded that MIL isn't ready to change and that there is a real risk that she could be sucessful at suicide. That is down right scary. But there is nothing that we can do other than rescue her in the moment.

That is so hard but you do have to protect your children.

Actually I think most of us are here to make friends so sitting with strangers is not so creepy to us. I do think if you get sat with people you do not like you can ask to be moved. Who knows you may meet some great friends and be thankful you got sat with them for dinner. This week I met two ladies that I had only met through this thread. Total strangers otherwise and I tell you they were two of the sweetest nicest people I have met in ages! I am sitting with them at dinner and know I am going to have a blast! I can already see us being great friends.

Maybe you guys can attend a Dis meet beforehand and meet some people possibly making a connection and find another couple or two you would like to eat with? If you are creeped out eating with just one other couple maybe you should really ask to be sat at a LARGE group table. That way there will be no one on one pressure to talk as much. I think if you give it a shot you will find it is not creepy like you think.

I was kinda shy on the boards but this cruise I figured screw it! I jumped right in and haven't looked back.

This is cute! It makes me sad though I had a dolphin necklace like this once but one day when I layed it down it shattered. I LOVE the fish though.

Tomorrow, I get to get gussied up and go to a fancy school auction with a wine tasting...yummy! I am going to preview one of the dresses I plan to wear on the ship. It's supposed to be pouring, which will not work with heels....hope it clears up!

Hey post a pic of your "preview" of your dress. It won't help you tomorrow since I am posting so very late but I think these work great for making sure you do not slip and slide in the rain. All their products work great with high heels in my opinion.

This Morning, I was laughing when I opened the birthday card from my brother, it said Sister, I've planned a fun-filled cruise in the Mediterranean for your birthday, when I opened it and it said Can you water my plants while I'm away? with a cat dressed up tropical!!

Look like my family know I love Disney Cruise,

Anyway, today is my birthday, and I am going out with my 7 friends for lunch then go to bar for champagne.

I will be out all day until tonight.

Taylor is the same with me and her dad. I think it's the impatient dad thing our kids fathers have. Taylors dad can get frustrated easily and tell her that she needs to get over it w/o working on the prob. Oh well, I'm just glad they have someone to talk too...

Yes good to have at least one line of communication open for them. At least you guys know your kids will come to you if they feel they need someone to talk to.
