We have only been to DW once, and quite honestly we had no idea what we were doing the first time. So, this time, we wanted to make sure we did some research. "Some" turned into "a lot", and I think we are over thinking it now. Can someone tell me if we should change our MK day around?

We were planning on doing:
May 1: MK
May 2: HS
May 3: AK
But after doing more research, we noticed WDW is recommending AK over MK for May 1. So should we flip flop AK and MK days?

We have no FPs yet because we are staying off site this time and are not 30 days out yet. So it would be easy to switch but we are not sure if it really matters...?

Is there a reason? I know Monday is AK is open an hour early, so I would think both Sunday and Tieaday would be less crowded

AK is more of a half day park. So you could technically hop over to magic kingdom around 1pm or 2pm if you have park hoppers.

Except that maybe Rivers of Light and the nighttime safari might be running by May. If so you might want to stay late for them.

Although hopefully the new Rivers of Light evening show and night activities like the night safari will be started by then!

We'll be there same time, but different park days. :)

I considered swapping out 5/1 Epcot and 5/2 AK after the 8 am EMH was added on the 2nd for AK, but I thought that weekends at AK may become more popular, especially with locals after the new evening activities open up, than current crowd projections report. Sunday evening would be "safer" than a Friday or Saturday evening, though, of course.

I was thinking the same thing. Sunday might be more crowded because of the locals taking advantage of the new evening activities at AK

I guess it depends on how well it's been advertised locally--it could be new enough that it's less busy at first? This would only be the second weekend of new activities though so if it's known I'd think it'd be popular!

MK is busier on the weekends than week days typically though. Do you have park hoppers?

I don't see how people say ak is a half day park. Honestly with everything taken out of hs that is going to be more of a half day park.

With the new ak stuff starting no one knows what ak will be like for crowds we try to avoid mk and hs on weekends
