So trying to decide what to do about photopass for our tickets. We have 10 day passes (from NZ) and our days will be split across 14 days.

The Photopass 1 week is $78 per week. Max pass would be $10 a day for 1 of us making it $100 total.

Is there any issues doing this? Will it cause any hassles with fastpass having 1 person using Maxpass and 4 using regular fastpass?

Hi. We too have a 10 day pass and are heading over in January. Do you not have to take the 10 days consecutively? We haven't got our paper work yet so unable to read the fine print.
Look forward to hearing from you :)

I know you probably don't want to have to pay the extra money, but I will suggest that Maxpass is worth every penny on the days you plan on doing a lot of rides. It is very convenient to be able to book a FP for another attraction wile standing in the return line for your current FP, not to mention you can get a lot more done that way.

I dont disagree but for 10 days for 5 people it isnt on the cards for my family.

Right, I am not saying you need it every day, but maybe pick a couple of days where everyone has it, might make things a bit more enjoyable, especially bsuier days like Sundays and/or holidays.

Just a heads up, depending on when you are going, Disney just announced a limited time ticket offer that if valid from January 7, 2019 to May 23, 2019 (except April 14-22, 2019). So expect high level of crowds during this period, especially starting about the second week of April, as there will be a lot of spring breaks beginning at that time and the last two weeks of the promo will be insane, to the point where the parks will close due to capacity by noon to 2 PM for a good chunk of those two weeks.

I agree, we are family of 4 coming from NZ in September/October, it would be an extra $400 for max pass for all the days.

We will do a couple of days max pass, but most of our other days we will only spend a few hours in the parks first thing then go do other things.

We are living in NZ too. And the cost is before the conversion.

The front of the line passes at Universal ended up being the reason we stopped going, it wasn't worth it to go without them, and the cost wasn't justifiable with it. I feel the same at DL, if I cant enjoy the parks without MP then the value has been lost for me, especially we I can get something similar (arguably better) for free at WDW

Its why I said arguably, I like having the prebookings for the rides.
Gotcha! It’s a matter of opinion of course, but I just got way more rides in with MaxPass then at WDW. At the world all 1st tier rides were only available if I could pre book them, so we were lucky to ride them once. Never got a FP for Seven Drawfs Mine Train at all. I don’t find that at DL, but again, my opinion.

Ah, we were really successful with it, I dont know if it was that we stayed on site (you might have as well) and had a longer stay which allowed us to book for our whole trip at the mark for our whole trip. But for sure if you are staying offsite for a short stay, or booking "last minute" its wouldnt be great.
But for those of us that dont rope drop it was great.
