OK, Yeah I'm dreaming here, but what is the "maximum" number of points one can buy. Also, can each spouse purchase that maximum??

Carol:

My understanding that a single named entity may have an aggregate of 5,000 points, with an individual resort total of 2,000 DVC points.

Mrs. & Mr. Smith could own 5,000 DVC Points.
Mrs. Mary Smith could own 5,000 DVC Points.
Mr. John Smith could own 5,000 DVC Points.
The Smith Company could own 5,000 DVC Points.

I don't know if for Disney purposes, Mr. & Mrs. John Smith are different entities than Mrs. & Mr. Smith. I would think not, but if computers are involved, perhaps so!

Thanks Tony,

Going by your example I could also envision

Mrs. Smith Company owning 5,000 points
Mr. Smith Company owning 5,000 points

Thanks for posting this! Now I know what to do when I win the lottery! ;)

That's true through DVC directly but other than using ROFR, there would be no limits on resale. It's per owner though a joint ownership would count against each member.

At that point Mr and Mrs Smith are better off buying a home near WDW.

Not necissarily at all (I can't spell, sorry).

No maintenance issues, No Utilities (directly), Professional security, Free transportation, Mostly Top-notch, happy employees, No annoying neighboors (at least not for too long), No annoying doggies, barking at 4AM, No doggie dropings to step in, lots of cool Lizards and FROGS!!!!!!

'Free' Maid service every 8 days, 'Free' Maid service-LITE, every 8 days, 4 days offset from the full service. Someone, washes my sheets, towels and takes out the trash (more often then my kids do now!)

Hurricane insurance included!

Why pay for 'Assisted Living Services' anywhere but here?

Plus, I will die, or my DW will Kill me long before 2054.

I just looked at wholly owned condo's in HH. It would be cheaper to take a fractional and get enough for an entire year than buy a condo. The yearly costs might catch up to you eventually though.
