maximizing kids play free tickets?

We are booked for October under the kids play free promotion. We are staying 7 nights and 8 days and currently have the 7 day base tickets.

However, now I get to thinking and don't know if this is even possible......

Under the package, the kids tickets are free. So, does anyone know if I can upgrade our tickets to the 10 day pass with water park option and no expiration?

It is an extra $590 for dh and I to upgrade. So, does that mean the kids tickets will upgrade for nothing? We would use the unused portion next summer. That would give us 10 park days and 10 water park days correct?

Or do we have to be staying the same number of nights as the tickets indicate?

You can do the 10 regular days for free as that's what I did last May and will be doingnext month but you will have to pay extra for the no expiration and park hopper.

The free tickets are base tickets only. If you want to upgrade to PH or non-expiration, you'll have to pay for that/those option(s) on all tickets.

We were there in May with the same promo. We added an extra day and had to pay for the kids. I think the free ticket was just what was originally booked. You probably will have to pay for the extra days.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #19, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

You can upgrade the tickets. Their value will be the same as if you had purchased the base tickets. To add hopping, WPF&M, days, and/or No Expire You would pay the difference between the value of the issued tickets and what you are upgrading to, plus 6.5% sales tax.
