MAW and Character Greets

I know the GKTW buttons aren't for use at Character greeting areas, but I'm wondering what to do about the Character greetings that have Fastpass... Does the button in fact work at those locations? (I'm specifically thinking of Elsa and Anna.) We won't get our tickets until we arrive in Florida, so there's no chance of actually getting a fastpass. Would we just need to join the standby line?

Gktw will issue you a genie pass that you where on a lanyard around your neck. Absolutely use it for all charactereet and greets, even those eithout fasspass. We were there in february, twice the character was done and turning other guests away, we just flashed our genie pass and they waited for us. At rapunzel we said dancing with her wad part of my daughters wish, and she danced the entire dance just like in the movie twice! There was no fast pass for anna elsa when we were there and the line was 3 hours long! But we were moved right to the front. We saw almost every character there was, my daughter enjoyed them as much as rides. It will be a challenge without that genie pass on our next trip, thats for sure.
