Looking for the rest of this trip report? Here it is:
Pre-Trip Report
Da Crew: Me, 22 year old stud
Graduated from Pace University in New York City
Emily: Younger sister
Naomi: Youngest sister who's afraid of roller coasters
Mom & Dad: Those people with all the money.
Lodging: Hotel Royal Plaza at Downtown Disney
Duration: 5/26 - 5/29
Transportation: Song Airlines from Hartford, CT
Our flight didn't leave until 7:00PM that night and when you've got a trip as special as those to Disney World, leaving late that day is just plain torture. I'm sure to other people that's fine, but to us "Disney freaks", it just creates the longest day possible. I spent the day buying some last minute things I needed (guess who forgot to pack their bathing suit?) and finally, finally, finally, we went to the airport. Takeoff was delayed about 30 minutes due to the plane coming in late. The actual flight was very bumpy. There was a string of storms down the East Coast and it was mostly turbulent until we got to above Georgia or so.
We landed at about 10:30 and took the airport monorail to the main part of the airport. We got our baggage(which was waiting for us, which we found odd), got the rental car and headed out. It was about midnight by this point and we were all hungry so decided to make a late night stop at Waffle House. Now, for us northerners, Waffle House is a real delicassy. You may laugh, but they're fast and their hashbrowns can make me drool even right now. Mmmmm.....hashbrowns. So after indulging ourselves, we finally made it to our hotel, the Hotel Royal Plaza in the Downtown Disney Village. Checked in, got our rooms, put our stuff down and went to bed because we needed all the energy we could muster for our first day of Disney!
Things I Learned
- The music trivia game on Song is very hard. Best advice I can give you is although the questions do not repeat on your flight, they will repeat on your flight back so you can impress everyone on your way home with all your music knowledge
- Waffle House is the best
Please send some my way
Tomorrow....Blizzard Beach!
