I love this ride. I think it is so fun. It's more fun for me during the day, rather than night, which is usually the other way around. I prefer Splash Mountain at night. But the Matterhorn is awesome. Both sides of the ride are cool. I think I like the Fantasyland side a little better though. And it's one of the classics, which makes it that much better.

I love Splash at night too, but I prefer Matterhorn at night, it's awesome and I like the Tomorrowland side much better because of that dip.

Uhhh, I like Fantasyland side and Tomorrowland side the same, and night and day the same. :) We always ride both day and night, and usually end up on the TLand side in the day because the line is shorter. After they merge the lines at night we usually choose the FLand side.

Matterhorn is just too jerky for me. I usually ride it once per trip and that is enough for me. I have heard about one side being faster but can anyone tell me if one side is smoother?

Neither side is "smoother" than the other, but the Fantasyland side is less intense (IMO). For that reason, I prefer the Tomorrowland side. I also love riding Matterhorn at night. It's just so much better.

We were able to watch it during the fireworks and that was really neat. I did the same with Splash Mt. at WDW and it is a neat experience. I have never ridden the TL side we must go too late or early because it is always closed.
