Matterhorn is fine, if not better with the new cars!

Can't believe how wrong everyone was about the new Matterhorn cars. I'm 6"1', 165 lbs., relatively long legs, and I sat in the 2nd seat in the first card. I kept my legs pressed up against the sides and pressed my feet firmly forward. I stayed in place the whole time, and was quite comfortable. It was nicer than I remember for sure.

Glad you liked it. I'm still bummed because I know DD4 would go on it with the old double occupancy cars, but I'm pretty sure she won't now. It's not that she's afraid of the ride itself, she's afraid of the Yeti. If I could share a car with her I could get her eyes covered before we passed him :(

Hmm, no, people are not wrong about their experiances with the new sleds.

They are telling you how they felt, and for them, that is the truth of how they felt. Now, that was not your experiance, and I am happy for you!

Everyone has their own take, and how they experiance the ride, it may not jive with anyone else's viewpoint, but it's not wrong per se.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the ride with the new seats, I for one will not ride the matterhorn because of how uncomfortable I find the new sleds, but that is my experiance.

Nope. I'm happy to again report that they were all wrong!

You might have been fine, but you're a stick at 6'1" and 165lbs! Most of us dont have your physique. :confused3

I'm more upset that they didnt replace the track. Its as jerky and bumpy as ever. If THAT was improved, I think people (myself included) would not be focusing on the seats as much. They still should have at least made more leg room.

I'm really looking forward to riding it and seeing for myself:). I have had some great memories of the ride and am interested in comparing the experiences.

Glad the OP enjoyed the ride.

These two words (jerky/bumpy) made me think of that wooden coaster at the Knott's.

I'll take the Matterhorn any day over that ride!!

With the new sleds it seems the ride is more of a challenge for certain people.

Does age or physique create the challenge? Just wondering????

I'll find out on our next trip. I'll let you know. My physique is lacking and I'm late 50's early 60's.

With all the hype over the Matterhorn, I can't wait to judge for myself.

i thought it was supposed to be jerky and bumpy - that was part of the bobsled mystique. if not, the ride is worse than i thought. i hated it.

When dd was little, one of the ladies over in the princess fantasy faire area told her a story about the yeti being her friend, but he can't speak "human", and that his roar is really just him trying to say hi. She asked my dd to go ride and say hi to him for her. So, still, multiple trips later, we wave to the yeti and yell hi when we pass.

Funny! I was on the Happiest Haunts Tour last month and that was a story the tour guide told us prior to riding the Matterhorn. She was directing it towards the one little boy in our group that was quite nervous about riding it. He did ride it....he liked it too. Me...not so much. lol

As long as you aren't seated in the first seat you fit just fine as an adult of an average height. Your opinion may change if you ever sit in the first seat. I'm 5'8" tall and average weight for my height and my knees were in my chest the whole ride and it was pretty darn uncomfortable. After one ride in the first seat I requested the second or third each time and enjoyed all aspects of it except for getting out of the seats. I am in my early 60's so maybe it's just my age that makes exiting more difficult. LOL

Very true.

And the ride feels different for each person's particular body.

Yep. The CM told me that it's supposed to be like that.

I kept my legs pressed up against the sides and pressed my feet firmly forward. I stayed in place the whole time, and was quite comfortable.

You could do those things because of YOUR body type. You're narrow and long and your legs COULD do that. I'm 5'3 with more of my height in my upper half than my lower. I canNOT do what you did. I canNOT stay still in my seat, it's physically impossible, I'm moving all around.

I still have the ghost of a bruise on my leg from Matterhorn from riding in JULY. It was a massive, massive bruise, very deep and awful. That ride was extremely uncomfortable for me, because I cannot stabilize myself on the ride.

Your truth is true for you and YOUR body type. Other people have their own experiences, which aren't wrong for them.

I actually thought it was a tad less bumpy than before. I'm 5'3" so leg room is not an issue for me. Still, it is bumpier than I like. If I was designing the new Matterhorn cars I would have put memory foam on the seats!

Oh I already play games with her about him. We look at pictures and reenact them "hey! I'm a yeti!" "hey! My feet are frozen and I can't move!". But as much fun as we have, she still says no.

No, we are not wrong, you fit, I do not. Do not try to tell me my feelings and experiences are wrong because you are not me.

LOL My girls always yell HI and wave at Harold as we pass by. LOL

Some type of padding would be great! lol
I am 5' 4" about 140 lbs, I'm not big, I'm not small, I'm just average and I was sliding all over the place in that seat. But that wasn't the worst part, for me the worst part was getting out of the seat. LOL I had the hardest time standing up to crawl out, I don't know why, I'm in good shape but man, it was hard to get out of that bobsled. I'll still ride, I just won't ride it as much as I did before. :)

Who would have guessed that the Matterhorn would become as divisive as American politics? :confused3

I think you guys are taking the OP's comments a little too seriously, lol.
