Mattea Roach on Jeopardy

I'm happy for her that she's won a good amount to set her off well for her future, but I don't see her lasting much longer. I was glad she admitted she's going to have tough competition in the TOC. The one thing I did find irritating yesterday is her saying "no" after she got a question wrong. I think that would be distracting to the other players who then have a chance to answer.
Agree. That and the little deliberations she goes through with the daily double wagers annoy me. Just say the amount!

We really thought last night was it for Mattea but I think she was just as surprised as everyone else. I just love Jeopardy. It is the one thing that I need in my weekday.
We've been watching the finals on Youtube, but we caught it live yesterday.Really thought that was it for her,but we shocked that the other contestant couldn't come up with the answer. Most exciting!

The tournament of champions is going to be pretty good this year. Do you every think Ken Jennings is thinking omg these questions are so easy and I could beat these players in a heart beat? I do prefer Mayim as host though.

Ahhhhh......yay :D....but it felt like she was a little too happy at the end.

It was time. I liked her in the beginning but I feel the show gets a little boring when someone wins over and over. Actually I like the old rule where you were done after 5 wins in a row.

The challenger got lucky being from Georgia. I flew out of Hartsfield Jackson airport last weekend and didn’t come up with the answer. I do think Mattea is right when she said that Amy will annihilate her in the TOC.

I agree the TOC is going to be interesting. I think Ken Jennings is thinking I'm glad I didn't have to deal with all these great contestants.

As for Mayim, I would be very happy if she never hosted again.

I think this is what irritated me about her, too much commentary as she went along. You’re not the host, it’s not your show, just answer the questions. I know some people commented it was probably nervous chatter. But it came across as cocky/ arrogant, not nervous.

Me too. I think the longer you’re on, the more advantage you have. For one thing, I really think the longer champions get an unfair advantage with using the buzzer. You can see so many times other players trying to click in. But after several games the champion has the timing down & gets in a rhythm & can ring in at the perfect time. And that just gets better for them over time. In addition, they get more comfortable just being on stage. You can tell, because, like Mattea, the comments & chatter start happening.

You are absolutely correct on this. I saw this in person when my wife was a contestant. (yes I'll brag whenever I get the chance):-) There's a brief time after the host stops talking and the signal lights come on where you have to buzz in. Players were coached "if you see the light, you're too late"
