can you see illuminations from matsunoma? i would like to try this place out and thought maybe we could hit it at night if there was a view.

also, i'm assuming they take ps's right?

thanks! :)

Last I heard they didn't take reservations. It's a place to have drinks and appetizers. The food and drink are good, though. Love the tempura and california rolls.

You can see part of Illuminations but will miss alot due to trees, buildings, etc. I'd much rather go outside....you'll get much more out of it. They have better viewing at Rose and Crown or the Cantina in Mexico.

I remember the last time I saw Illuminations was on the deck of the Japanese pavillion, right in front of Matsunoma lounge. It was pretty much wall to wall people on that deck, although it was a fairly average attendance time at WDW. I remember turning around, seeing the windows of Matsunoma lounge and all the people sitting in there and thinking to myself "Boy, if those people came at this time, hoping to see Illuminations, they must be pretty p****d at us!" And where I was was a recommended viewing spot, not at all illegal! So I think you'd end up disappointed if you went to Matsunoma hoping to see Illuminations.

thanks. :) we've seen illuminations many times (from rose and crown and at a desert party, among other places), so i think i will still try this place for sushi. :)

We were just there this past Mother's Day weekend. I don't think they take PS's. The hostess just told us to go and sit down. We weren't terribly hungry, so we ordered some sushi and tempura, it was good. We also got to sit next to the window, and would have had a great view of Illuminations. But we decided to go find a spot nearer to the lagoon. DH and I enjoyed it, while DD slept in her stroller. However, when we went the waitresses seemed very busy and our server barely got the chance to come to our table once.
