Thanks everybody for telling me to ask about a bounceback offer and the number to call WHILE checked in. Just got back from first ever trip to WDW (LOVED IT!) and we just did 2 days for the princess marathon. I loved it so much that I immediately called and had the bounceback offer applied to a reservation I had made for Nov. when I bring kids and hub. We did not have a flyer in the room (value music) either. I called and told her that I was a current guest and would like to either apply the offer to my upcoming trip I already had on the books or I'd cancel and start over, whatever would work.
Well...it took and I'm so happy:cloud9: But...once I got home and out of my Disney fog, I worked the numbers and things just don't make a lot of sense. I believe it's for 40% off at the deluxes but maybe it doesn't include every single day? I tried it different ways to figure it out and nothing really adds up right. um:confused:
basically, the original was for Nov 15-22 at Poly, garden room, 7 day passes with hopper and it came to 4588.80. After the bounceback, it's now 3641.48. It's wonderful yes, saving almost $950 but I'm just being OCD and would like to know exactly how it worked out like that. I went over the receipt thing and it doesn't show insurance or anything tricky added. I thought maybe it was only 40% days 15-19 (since that was what was reported as being not blacked out) and then reg. prices on 20 and 21 but I worked that and that's not right. Then i figured 40% off all the nights and the money I'm saving is a less that what that would have been. It's weird. I actually did not get a flyer in the room so i don't have anything in print saying what my discount was which is part of the problem. Plus, the first lady I spoke with said it was just for 5 of the nights at discounted rate but other CM said it included all 7 of my nights:confused:
either way, It's officially booked and I am saving almost 950 bucks so I probably shouldn't question it and leave it be, lol But...you know how it is, you just want to see exactly how it was all figured in to the penny.

November 20th and 21st are blacked out. The code was applied to your reservation but would only have affected the first 5 nights.

What is your confirmation letter showing exactly? Does it have a breakdown at all? If not, did you subtract the price of the tickets with tax and then subtract the rack rate for those last 2 nights with tax? Show us the math you've actually done so we can help you figure it out.

If two of the days are in blackout, those days would be at full price for that room. Did you check online to see what the actually full price cost was for those days, maybe you don't have the right price for your figures? (Put in a pretend reservation for those nights, room only, and it should show you).

thanks for your help guys. I figured it out, it was that pesky tax that messed up all my figures. I was originally just subtracting 40% from the total w/ taxes included instead of pre-tax or whatever. anyhoo...it all adds up now. It's always those taxes messing with my brain!:upsidedow

NV. I made a mistake on the number of hoppers (2 adults and 2 kids, right?). If so, the numbers work out.
