Math Investigations

I was looking at the math book for my 3rd grade DGS. They use Math Investigations. It sure looks like a different way to teach math. Any parents or teachers in the DIS world use/like this? Do the students have success with this process?

The school system I work in uses this curriculum. As I teach Special Ed Preschool I have not completed the trainings for it, but it seems to be widely well accepted by the elementary grade teachers. It is far more manipulative and hands-on based than math as our generation experienced it. I think its' success with your child will be dependent upon your child's learning style.
