I am trying to help my foster son with math.

Here is the
:
total is 781.00 dollars for the trip.

He needs to break down total in

1/3 of balance
1/2 of balance
Paid in Full

I am drawing a blank at the moment. I am not give him answer. But do need to know how come with so I can show him come with the answer if that makes sense.

I hope this will make sense. Since I don't have a calclutor handy, let's assume the cost of the trip is $99.

1/3 of $99 = $33, so $33 paid, balance is $66.

Then you essentially pay half of the $66, leaving a balance of $33.

And, the final payment is $33, leaving a balance of $0.

This is illustrating that the payments are being made in 1/3's of the cost of the trip.

So in your example, the first payment is 260.33, the balance is $520.67.

Next payment is 1/2 of the balance, which is 260.34, leaving a balance of $260.33.

Hope this makes sense!

1/3 of balance is $260.33 as the down payment.

This leaves a new balance of $520.67

Half of the new balance is again $260.33

Which leaves $260.34 to be the final payment.

All he needs to do is take it in steps.

I think I got. It's been so long since done this kind of math. Thank You.
