Mater at Pixar

Picture of Mater in the Pixar parking lot in Emeryville. Sorry for the bad quality but there was a scuffle and the camera pictures were confiscated. Luckily that took the attention away from my cell phone and I got this at least.
You can barely just see Lightning McQueen behind him but I didn't get a shot of that with the cell. I'll try to get a recording of them talking soon but they're keeping an eye out for me now.

LOL, you stumbled on to what the whole campus is a-buzz about. It isn't the King and the paint job is a mix of colors. The blue is a darker color than the Dinoco team scheme anyway.
It looks like a new character or just a generic race mate for McQueen. We haven’t heard this one talking but he's been turned around so whatever sensors they're using might not be triggering.
I was trying to sneak a picture of his front and the inside of Mater (trying to see how his moving eyes work) before Johnny law came down on me.
They're in the process of moving them so I think I'm out of luck for a better picture.
I'll ask around as I'm sure there are other cell snaps on campus.

That blue spoiler is 100% from a 2004-2006 Subaru WRX STi. Looks like the entire back end is Subaru.

I saw Mater and Lightning at Hollywood studios and they were really cool. Lightning revved when I petted him!
They are coming out with a new Cars 2 so the blue car could be a new character. Or just a regular non-animated car.

It was all in good humor really. Two security guards were usually hovering in front of them. When we'd walked by them, coming in from the parking lot, one would walk with you and remind you no pictures.
The second day coming in I brought my POS and was going to try a couple long distance shots. However, there was only one guard and I timed it so that while he was escorting another group I whipped it out and took some pictures. I should have immediately hid it and went on my way but I got greedy and whipped out my cell phone because I wanted to send out some pictures from it.
They were just temporarily placing the vehicles there when they first brought them in. I'm sure they expected some pictures to leak out but from what I've heard they were going to put a little show together for all the employees. Maybe they were trying to minimize exposure till then. It all begs to question why they just didn't put a tarp over them?
No show yet and they are not parked there anymore. The bad weather excuse has run its course and we were kinda hoping something would happen today.

I would say it had a rally car vibe. It didn't scream Subaru to me as it was much more rounded (Cartoonish). You can see the rear pillar is much thinner. Definitely the same spoiler though.

I agree that if they didn't want the information leaked out at all they could have just put a tarp over it.
