75 days until our first Disney family vacation!!! We're starting to plan out the matching shirts were going to wear on the first day. Anyone have pics of what they have done? Would love to see and hear some suggestions. Thanks!!

Here's our plan (we don't have pics yet!):

MK: Red tee shirts I made (using Cricut) with black mickey heads and white Waltograph names
EP: Dr. Who shirts for DH & I, other Mickey shirts I found at Kohl's for boys
AK: Zoo tee shirts for the boys, Up tee shirts I found for DH & I at Hot Topic
DHS: Star Wars tees for all of us
SeaWorld: Blue tee shirts I made (using Cricut) with Seaworld Rescue Logo on them (my favorite of all)
Legoland: Lego shirts for boys, Batman shirts for DH & I

So, I made a few, bought a few, and recycled some we already had (Star Wars, Lego, Zoo, etc.)

I also made navy blue sweatshirts with Nemo (we are staying in a Nemo room) and walt Disney World logos on them for the plane and any later/cooler nights.

Good luck~ My family absolutely refused to do this after the oldest was 10. This year we saw some families wearing matching clothes and they said they were SO GLAD I didn't make them do that anymore.

We don't have pics because Im starting to pack and they're packed away but we have special shirts for AK day and Epcot day and the kids have a special outfit for their 1st MK day because they're doing Pirates League. AK day each person has picked out tees or tanks with animals on it and Epcot everybody has a minnie or mickey silhouette with a USA flag in it. DS has a pirate shirt and DD has a teal fish-like mermaid tee dress for their pirate league day.

We just tried to get some made by two different online companies, and both companies denied our designs for copyright infringement because we had a llama wearing Mickey ears on the shirts. One of the companies was custom ink, I can't remember the other one. Just wanted to warn you that this may be an issue if you decide to design your own shirt online. Here is what we came up with, we had to draw the Mickey ears on ourselves with a fabric marker: (on the back is a list of all the available characters to meet. The front says "The Great Character Escapade" because we were trying to see as many characters as possible in a single day. We saw 47!!!) image.jpg

We have white t-shirts with Elmer's glue swirl mickey heads let dry then did spray tie-die on them, washed and the glue came out... so cool the kiddos 12, 10 and 2 loved it along with 4 adults. We also have gray shirts with black fabric that we cut and used heat bond to iron them to the shirt, added bows for the girls. Our last shirts are multi colored that we did wax paper screen printing, kiddos got to pick an image that I could cut out as a silhouette, iron on to shirt and used fabric paint. I will post photos soon.

We had a sort of family reunion at Disney, there were eleven of us and my sister decided that we'd wear matching shirts to AK (the idea being that we were a Wilderness Explorers troop.) She chose bright neon green, which was a surprise when she handed them out. Turned out that was a useful decision as it was easy to spot a kid wandering too far from the rest of us. Also when the six year old and I made a detour on the way to Festival of the Lion King and ended up entering about 15 minutes after the rest of the group the CMs at the door took one look at us and said "your party is over there." Don't be afraid of colors you'll never wear in real life! :rainbow:

No pics, sorry. But we have lots of coordinating shirts, and wear a few each trip. My boys are 2 and 5, so they will still mostly wear what I put them in!

We have: baymax for us all
everyone wears something star wars
buzz lightyear
3 woodies and a Jessie
Things 1&2, mother & father of all things
All wear superman (I feel goofy in this!)
Coordinating inside out shirts (with 2 angers b/c we're short a boy character!)

Those are all I can think of for now.

We wear some of them every trip, but I do feel more comfortable with the more costumey ones around Halloween/MNSSHP time!
