Are there any other crazys like me that have coordinating character shirts for their family? Me, my husband, son and daughter will be in disneyland for 5 days and we having matching stuff for each day. For example
Day 1. Mickey & Minnie tees
Day 2 different characters from wreck it Ralph tees
Day3.buzz lightyear(DH) green alien(me) and Jessie and woody for children
Day 4. Pirate Mickey &Minnie tees
Day5 Star Wars tees
We're planning at being at the park right at opening, staying until 2ish. Taking a break(we're staying at pph) and then going back until close or were exhausted.
I have more outfits for the kids to change since they'll probably get dirty or sweaty like tink& peterpan, cars themed outfits, Ariel and nemo for Ariel's grotto.i know it's more common at disney world but I couldn't help my self. I know I'm a little corny lol

Always, yes. It looks better for pictures and it kinda helps me pack by settling on just one outfit per day!

I Love this idea, when my kids were little I always dressed them alike. Now I am waiting for Grandkids to do the same with;)

Amen to both points! Plus, it helps some people recognize my biracial family as just that--a family unit. Also helps when a little one goes off on a tear and helpful people turn around and can instantly recognize us as the "Owners" of the mad toddler making a beeline for MJJ to point out where he went or to point us out to him. When we made an impromptu visit to the BBB, the photos later looked great with my three Knights in their three different (so *coordinated*, not matching) Lightning shirts.

When doing research for our first trip to WDW for Dec 2011, after reading many trip reports, I noticed that the photos with matching tees always looked so nice. So for our WDW trip I made matching tees for most days (something I never would have done at DL before).
All our photos looked so nice with the matching tees and we got lots of complements on many of the tee designs... some folks even asking which gift shop they could by them in! (a lot of the designs were from the DISign/DIS board's here and used AMY Mickeys Iron on sheets). The other bonus that was unforseen until there... each morning I would just say to my boys and hubby "we are wearing the blue shirt tomorrow" or whichever one for that park/day. We all liked it because it made getting ready that much easier.

Plus our pictures turned out looking so nice!

When I talked about doing it for our DLR trip this past November DS(12) told me "No mom thats a WDW thing not a DLR thing." I was shut down until we go to WDW again!

But it is true that you see it much more at WDW than at DLR.

I did this for my kids- all the girls had matching shirts and the boys had matching shirts, and they would all be the same color. (for example, my girls might wear red minnie mouse shirts and the boys would wear red mickey mouse shirts) I thought it made it nice and easy to spot our kids when they got mixed into the crowds a bit. DH and I tended to coordinate our colors with the kids because it looked nice for pictures, and helped the kids to spot us the same way we could spot them. We saw lots of groups with matching shirts while we were there; I thought it was really fun to see!

No way my husband would go with the coordinated shirts. Cute idea though. Maybe if it was all Star Wars shirts :p

My husband and I are doing this for our upcoming trip.
We have a: mickey/minnie outfit
Monsters inc.
Woody and buzz lightyear
Belle and prince Adam
And then a free day for him for matching all week :b

I am guessing you all have young kids?

I pointed out all the matching t-shirts around the parks to my DD on our last trip and I think she would quite literally throw up if we insisted she wear a matching t-shirt as us to the parks. Well at least she would look like she is about to in the pictures! :upsidedow She is at "that" age.

Mine are 5&7. So they have no choice lol

Nope no kids for us :(
But I can see how it would be easier to get younger kids to match hahah

My siblings would die if they had to match clothes with anyone.

We are doing matching t-shirts. Will post a pic when we are all wearing them together...

My daughter just turned 9 and we still wear matching shirts to Disneyland sometimes.

We are going to WDW in June and are planning to bring a couple of matching shirts. We even got matching jackets to wear on the plane to Orlando. The jackets say,"I'm going to Walt Disney World Resort."

Nope, my DS's were 14 and 10 when we did the matching tee's. I just made sure to pick out designs that they were into like Star Wars, ect, and one day they wore these cool Muppet spoof shirts that I got from Target (Muppets crossing Abbey Rd ala the Beatles) and so on.

Ha ha, I was thinking the same thing. DH would be a NO go. :rotfl: for certain.
I do try to match us in that we coordinate color/style wise though. And I always pick bright colors that are easier to spot. Dh wore black one day and it was awful.
I would definitely consider doing matching for the kids. But probably not my thing either.

We wear matching dorky, floppy sunblocking hats - does that count? And very similar high-tech, long-sleeved shirts.

Although, we're all short, so we've kicked around shirts that say "Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarfs are not Happy." We'd just end up wearing them under our long-sleeved sunblocking shirts, which would spoil the fun.

Unless you sunblocking shirts are snug, then maybe you could wear the tees over them. We do this during the cooler months!

...but only one out of seven actually considers himself Grumpy...

We totally did this on our trip (our kids are almost-3, 5, and 6, so they had no issue with it, and my DH actually enjoyed it!) and it was so much easier to keep track of everyone, and find each other. We split up a lot with rider-swap and stuff, so this was a big plus. The first day we wore these shirts, and they were a huge hit. We got comments all day, and never had ANY trouble finding anyone. :)

We wore red Disney-themed shirts the second day (combination homemade, Wal-mart, and Disney Store), and grey Mickey/Disney shirts (Disney Store) the last day. It might just become a condition of -going- to Disneyland in the future... we'll see. :)
