MasterChef Season 4

I don't know how any of that food could have been warm for those kids to eat last night. Pasta gets cold fast. I think the red team won because of Gordon telling them to make the chicken sweet. But he also helped the other team saying get rid of the meatballs.

I think the other contestants were hard on the captains last night. I bet it was hard in that setting, I would give them a break. And Jordan saving himself, it was immunity. If this was survivor and someone didn't use it we think they were crazy.

Would have hated the challenge, I can't make cupcakes, mine turn out like the girl that went home. :lmao: Now if was the cookies I would have been all over that. Mind you I watched The American Bake
Competition show last night and they baked cookies I probably would have gotten though either....

Loved how Gordon only needed a half our to make his dish.

Still liking Jordan the best....I was so glad he succeeded without his mixer & he didn't make a big deal out of it either.

I like Jordan too. Had he not saved himself, they would have judged him that much harder than the others. The comparison to Survivor is a good one. OF COURSE he should have used his immunity.

I like all the J guys- Jordan, James, Johnny. Luca went up in my book a little after he conceded that Jordan made a good cupcake despite the curve ball. I'm starting to go off Krissi a bit because she seems to hate everyone. If it was just her versus Natasha, ok. Her versus everyone is not so cute. I had liked Andrea, but oh well. I think a man will win this year.

I don't like the Survivor comparison....

It should be more about the cooking.
These are people wanting to get paid big-time, and be know for their food and culinary abilities. Not about all the drama between the contestants.

And, to be a head chef, one has to be a manager, a team leader...
Like the one person said... That is like the captain not going down with his ship. I did NOT like that he took advantage of his immunity.

I am glad that he did well with his cupcakes.
But, I thought Luca's move was well played!!!!

I am a bit of a foodie.
Luca's seafood dish looked AMAZING. And the judges could not come up with enough superlatives. To me, THAT is what it is all about. I would have loved to be able to try that dish!

And, OMG, the two worst cheesecakes....
NOT the end product of a good chef who knows how to work with and prepare foods. EEEEWWW!!!!!

The best cheesecakes seemed like they would be SO good.

PS: I thought the school lunch thing was just BAD...
Those kids were young...
Many of them were just running for the nearest group, or their favorite color, or with their friends.

By all observation, the kids were eating WAY more of the pasta dish...
But then, in the whole stampede thing, the pasta lost??????

That group was robbed.

Yep, very well played. I am so glad Luca came back and auditioned. His plate looked amazing.

I saw a side to Jordan last night that rubbed me wrong. In particular his comments toward Luca for being 'cocky' or something to that effect after Luca removed his mixer. Jordan should've expected what was coming to him after he saved his own butt. He's lucky it was just a mixer being taken away.

THEN after Luca praised his cupcakes, Jordan continues to talk smack and act like a jerk. Dude needs to keep his attitude in check.

The neon cupcakes looked DISGUSTING. I thought for sure she was going home.

These are home cooks though and some are still learning. They could be a good cook and have something go wrong with something they cook all the time and be out. He just wanted to stay one more week.

And for his remarks I took them as playful remarks, I find Krissi more brash then Jordan and Luca.

Totally agree. I liked Jordan initially - but last night, he turned me off, big time.

I just got done watching the episode where Beth and Chrissi were in the bottom two and had to cook off. I definitely think Beth got robbed! The only reason they let her go instead of Chrissi was that they wanted to keep Chrissi around for the ratings. Being from Massachusetts, I was rooting for Johnny until he made something with maple syrup (can't remember what).

I have no idea who I'm rooting for anymore. Maybe Bethy? No one's really standing out for me yet.

I'm still on Team Jordan! He messed up once on salmon, but for the most part, his food is constantly phenomenal! Plus, his artistry on the plating is beautiful.

Yep, I am not getting the cooks who want to do their own thing, and just throw in ingredients that they are familiar with. And, they just ignore tradition and what might really make a good dish.

The one guy decided to do like a southwestern peppers, which ruined the recipe.
He really got reamed by Ramsay on that one.

Maple syrup... REALLY!!!!!

I am all for adding a bit of your own style and trying to improve something.
But, you don't ignore what the dish is supposed to be!!!

It really is kind of lame when you think about it.
It is like, instead of focusing on how to expertly season and prepare chicken.. the clueless housewife who doesn't know how to cook, throws some pineapple on top and thinks she should be so applauded for her 'Hawaiian Chicken'. :rotfl2:
