Mastercard free $20 gift card promotion; UPDATE Post #6

It states on their site that they do not count anything prior to signing up, so it has to be after.

I am just concerned because there are only 7 or 8 days left and I want to be sure all my purchases count, like my Sprint payment.

However, I guess what I really *could* do is to just buy $400 in Costco gift cards for my January groceries.

This is my mileage card, and all of our Christmas purchases went on it. I don't really recall when I signed up (it was within the last couple weeks though) and so I don't know if they counted purchases from the start date of the program (prior to me signing up) or not.

Is this for online purchases only? Do you just go to the website's of whatever store you want to buy an online card at?

Yes, it's only for online purchases made after you sign up. You have to use the card that you registered to make your online purchases. In my case, it was disneystore.com and the grocery store website. I got an email letting me know that I had met the requirements shortly afterward.

I registered at 10:00 a.m. so I plan to make an online gift card purchase tomorrow for $200.00 so I should be ok--I will be sure to make it 24 hours after I registered.

I did not wait 24 hours, but I did go back on to see if I was registered already and it said, "This card is already registered." That was about 20 minutes after I registered.

My $200 in online purchases consisted of 4 $50 gift cards. Three were for the grocery stores close to where the kids go to college and one was for a Disney gift card. So, gift card purchases counted.

DawnM, I don't know whether online bill payments would work. I think that it would depend on how it gets processed since all of these transactions are looked at by computers at Mastercard to determine if they qualify.

We're doing 10 days at WDW in January and a 7 night on the Fantasy in June. It'll get used for sure!

Extra bonus if the $20 Mastercard offer comes through.

just booked my plane ticket for the way out ( went SW, free luggage and can get credit if price goes down). Now hopefully will get the $20 as well. Have plane tickets(purchase return trip already, deposit on POP Century, deposit on cruise, guess we're really going now. Looks like I might not be doing much between now and June but, it will be worth it

Yes, it has to actually post to your account.

The other one (DHs) hasn't gone through yet on my MC account, so I figure that is why I haven't received an email yet.

Oh, and BTW, my Sprint bill payment did count!

I was wondering this, too, but eventually got my email.

There is a "Contact Us" number on the website.

I still haven't received any confirmation of my 2nd MC, but I see that the charges were actually processed fully on December 30th (even though I ordered around Dec. 23rd!)

Hopefully it is just going to take a little extra time because of the holidays and I will get an email very soon.

I was wondering this as well. I contacted them by email yesterday and intially received a very quick response. They asked for some detailed additional information (which I have provided) but, I have still not heard back. My transaction was purchased on 12/22 but didnt post until 12/26

I made my purchases on the 31st and I got a confirmation email today. It said I'll get the $20 card in 1-2 weeks. We are leaving in for Disney in two weeks so I hope I get it before then!

I never did get the 2nd MC confirmation (DH's MC.) I have no idea why. It all cleared within the time frame.
