I am not in a concierge or the GF, but would love to be able to get a massage or two or three while at the world--anywhere I can go?

thanks:D

You do'nt need to be concierge to get a massage. The GF Spa offers the full spa experience, as does the Spa at the DI. If you simply want a massage, they can take care fo you at the YC/BC, BWI, AKL and CSR. I'm pretty sure you can also get one at the CR. I strongly suggest booking in advance.

IMO, the "average person" can't really afford the Disney spa prices. :) A quick check of the price list on another website shows a 25 minute massage for roughly $50 +tip, and 50 minutes at ~ $100 +tip.

Will you have a rental car? You might check out some of the local offsite day spas / beauty salons, and see what their prices are. Try one of the online Yellow Pages services to find the names and numbers - PM me if you need a link, I know forum links to commercial sites are a no-no.

Edited because I'm a *moron* - I just responded to another of your threads where you specifically mentioned that you would have a car. :jester: Duh!

I disagree with this statement. I think that's it's a matter of how you want to spend your money. I'm far from rich, yet I can always scrape together the coins to get a massage when I want one. OK, maybe not whenever I want one, because that would be every day, but a few times a year... :)

I agree-a massage is a necessity for me--i am 35% disabled and it really helps me keep going when I am in pain. Thanks for all the helpful advise!

I just do without something else, it is that important!

I'm sorry - I (definitely!) wasn't trying to suggest that anyone was too poor to afford a massage, just that an "average person" might want to pay less than the Disney prices for their vacation massage. :)

You don't have to be in Concierge to take advantage of the spa facilities. They have spa and massage facilities at the Grand Floridian and Disney Institute. Pretty much almost any of the deluxe resorts can accomodate you, as well.

As for cost, yes they are a bit high, but I have heard they are well worth it. Usually I am in such a state of go, go, go, I never stop long enough to indulge. But, one of these days I will!

I'm quite sure that the Swan/Dolphin also has massage. I was going to do it last December but I just didn't get around to it.
Maybe this December I will try to do it.
