I need some help to decide what zoo to go to with our kids dd6 and ds2 tomorrow. We have been to Roger Williams in Providence but they are in the middle of a huge regrade and alot of stuff was closed the last time we went, We have also been to Southwick ( last year) The other 2 are Stone Zoo or Franklin Park Zoo but I havent been to either..

We love Southwick but since we were just there last summer, Im afraid dd6 might be bored but She does like the deer forest...

any suggestions?

Buttonwood Park Zoo in new Bedford. I've never been but have been told it's a very nice small zoo.

We only live about 20 minutes from Buttonwood, so we have been there a million times,, It is tiny but nice to for my 2 year old but a little too small for the 6 year old

How about Davis Farmland in Sterling? Lots of animals and play area for kids. Lots to do all day.

I like Roger Williams best. Franklin is not that great. Ive never been to Stone Zoo.

I would choose Franklin Park over Stone Zoo; I haven't heard anything great about Stone Zoo. I love the gorillas at Franklin Park...very cool to watch.

Have you been to Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro? It's nice but really small. They also have a water play area for little kids.

The Stone Zoo is absolutely terrible. How about Southwick Zoo? Many people drive there from southern NH and rave it about. Especially after having been to the Franklin Park and Stone Zoos.

Personally, I LOVE the Franklin Park Zoo. It shaped where you can just go in a big circle and see everything in just a few hours. And their butterfly house is awesome. If you go make sure you wear a yellow shirt, the butterflies will be all over you. There's a cool bird area, and There's a great big cat area, I got up close and personal with the lion once. Another cool gem is as you're walking into the big cat area, look up in the tree and you'll see a dead gazelle hanging on the limb! It's not real of course, it just shows you what leopards do with their prey. It's very real looking though! They also have wild dogs, zebras and ostriches as you first enter, a really great petting zoo for your DS2, YOU MUST see the prairie dogs...Franklin Park is my favorite and it's really lovely. I recommend it for an afternoon activity.

Southwick is always good. Personally, I could probably go to the same zoo everyday and never get bored, I LOVE the zoo. But everyone is different. I just don't know if your daughter would be bored going again, I wouldn't. :confused3

I live 10 minutes away from Roger Williams Zoo, so we've been there tons of time.

I was there last month, with my best friend and her family. New exhbits for the elephants and giraffes (you can get VERY close to the giraffes now!), as well as a new bald eagle exhbit.

It's a pretty cool zoo, overall, but there is a lack of...that juh nuh say qua. (excuse my horrible French; I've taken Spanish for the past 4 years, LOL!)

Franklin Park Zoo is nice, as is Southwicks. Haven't been to either in several, several years, but a family friend of ours goes to Southwicks often, and they love it.
