MASS political telephone calls............

It's ok to talk about the excess calls you are recieving from both sides.
It would NOT be ok to say something about one candidate over the other etc.

Thanks, Alex, for clearing that up! :thumbsup2

As the OP, I was just stating that how annoying these calls are from MA to my CA home to continually remind me "to get to the polls early".....:headache:

The phone calls are making s crazy too! I came home yesterday to 9 (yes NINE) new messages. SO annoying! I cannot wait for this election to be over.

OP, did you register to vote in Cali or are you still registered in Ma? If you are on the list, then they will call ya.

I wish I knew how they got my number. I ahve been working nights, and the phone calls keep waking me up when I am trying to sleep!

OMG I can't believe I got a call from Pat Boone!! Who the heck would even think about using him

Thanks Alex...

On the other side of this, I was contacted and asked if I WOULD make calls for this election... Thing is - I also do not live in this state....

Momrek06 - my thread title was actually - "name name (Hillary's husband) just called me!" So I wasn't endorsing any politician at all - just making a comment that it was funny he was calling me. I was actually quite surprised that it got yanked and I got the reprimand/points. Guess it depends on the moderator who is around when the threads are.

All registered. We register here in CA in July 2008, right after we moved here so we could vote in the 2008 Presidential election. Sooo, we are not even MA voters anymore. :headache:

Yup...the excessive phone calling... the ads one after another which are repetitive are now quite annoying. Thankfully, it will all end tomorrow at
8:00 pm. It is especially annoying since we know who we are voting for and don't need further encouragement.

BTW, momrek06~ our DS moved to San Diego this past October. His fiancee is from San Diego and we will be headed there this summer for the wedding. Looking forward to many visits out there to see him and enjoy the beautiful climate.

Unsolicited calls definitely is on the "Top 10 Things In Life" that annoy the heck out of me..:headache:

If I didn't need a telephone for emergencies; needing to contact my various doctors offices; and things of that nature, I would not have ANY telephone at all..:headache:

Oh, wow, sorry about you getting your thread deleted w/points. :sad1:

OT, absolutely, we are excited!!! My DS lives in Pacific Beach and LOVES it there...we are moving to SD/North County which is still about 34-40 minutes to the heart of SD. A job offer my DH could not refuse. We will miss Orange Cty but not the cost. :headache: SD County is so much more reasonable and just as lovely with the beaches and the ocean!!! :yay:

I'm so glad we don't have a landline- we've gotten NO calls on our cells!

Well, it is funny you mention this...we still have our MA cells...yes indeed. We have had these cell #'s for yearrrrrs....yet NO calls to the cell at all. THAT I could understand....but to my CA landline....odd. :headache:

It is infuriating! I am home today on the MLK holiday and I have had five messages so far...probably more to come during dinner! It's not ever been like this for any other election.

The banner ad I am seeing above this text box is for one of the candidates. :confused3 Ads by google must not know that we can't talk politics here!

The calls are out of control. But don't let them sway you from getting out there and voting!

Oh! That must be the one that started playing before my voice mail started recording! I couldn't figure out who was calling! Thanks, Alex!!!

For that matter, I don't even remember which candidate the voice was supporting...

What? You mean - you can't be swayed, less than thirteen hours before the polls open? What is this world coming to? :rotfl2:

I just had a nice little discussion with the UPS guy (can you believe, they're working today?). He got a recorded call yesterday from "Patrick" - where Patrick mispronounced the name of the candidate he's supporting!!! Please. If you can't get your candidate's name right, isn't the call wasted... except, maybe, for its entertainment (read: joke) value?

Yesterday (Sunday) I got to hang up on two Presidents...Bill Clinton and Obama:lmao::rotfl2:...we must have received at least 15 calls over the weekend...craziest election I've ever been around for...now I just hope....wins:lmao:

We live in Southern NH, originally from MA though. My mother has had a ton of calls as well. I am really tired of all of the commercials and tomorrow can't get here fast enough.

Hmmmm....DH and I are both registered voters in MA, but we haven't received a single political phone call for either candidate. We do have an unpublished number, but I'm guessing that some of you do too, and are still receiving these calls.

The Mayor, I agree completely about this being the craziest election evah! Can't wait to see how it turns out! popcorn::

Does anyone know how to get your name taken OFF the political phone lists? I mean they keep passing my number on and on and I am not sure how to make it end!

You CAN'T, because guess what? Political calls are exempt! Yay! :cool2: Aren't they just the special little snowflakes getting to exempt themselves?

But oh YEAH, I remember the last big election in my state that had national ramifications...sheesh, I was getting multiple robo-calls daily that I could NOT disconnect. Oh, and to make it all so very VERY special they were from all my new best nationally-known political friends. Oh goody.

Funny enough, now that the election is over, they're ignoring me again .

agnes!

OK, spoke to soon when I said they were not calling my cellphone that still has my MASS # on it. When we moved to CA we all just kept our cell#'s as everyone knew our #'s.

WELL, last night 202-747-7306 WASH DC kept coming up on my cell. :headache:

Calls are back on the landline this a.m. Who is ANDY and who is STEPHANIE calling my house???????
