Masks at MCO

thanks everyone. I’m trying to find a cancel for any reason insurance in the uk. I gave normal travel insurance but it won’t cover this
When we cruised over a decade ago I used this trip insurance broker who spoke to me in person and helped me find insurance that would cover my son's pre-existing medical condition in case of problems: https://tripinsurancestore.com. I don't know if they can sell policies to those outside the USA but that's what I'm talking about. Even if they can't sell you a policy you might try emailing them to see if they can refer you to a British agent who can and provides that type of service. I'm guessing the policies they sell are for US citizens only. I was impressed with their help at the time and haven't had to buy insurance since..but I did contact them back in 2020 when we were planning to fly to London in March to get insurance quotes (I have no affiliation with them). I was working with them to get something (to cover medical evacuations) when covid hit (so I never bought and we didn't travel). There are some very fiddly rules about the insurance has to cover the full cost of the trip and so on. I don't know how it is over there but trip insurance rules in the USA seemed geared to find a way not to have to pay out your losses unless you're careful.

There are numerous websites that will shop multiple plans and help you find exactly what you need. I tried a specific one here and apparently that site isn't allowed.

Maybe worth noting that the US mask mandates were always wimpy on what was physically required, as opposed to the rest of the world. Paper masks and cloth masks were always allowed. Some airlines have rules like no neck gaiters or no one way valves, but they all have different requirements. Over time these have changed, like Delta now allows a two-layer gaiter, and United just says "no bandanas"

Well as its been extended again and i cant find a single UK insurance company that will do a "cancel for any reason" the best bet is to cancel the trip if there is even a whiff of any kind of mandate. Of course that leaves me in trouble if it comes back in the 8 weeks between paying and going.

Only other option is to lose the dining credit, $250 spending and all the other perks i got it deal and bin the holiday off.

Sad times indeed.

I guess i can still hope border force get back in contact and offer advise.

If they extend it beyond May 3rd we will have to cancel (reschedule) AGAIN. I think this is the 5th time. We have tried and tried but our daughter just cannot tolerate wearing a mask for longer than 20 minutes without a break and no way will she tolerate one in the TSA line if she can't use her chewy tube. *sigh* I really thought by May we would finally be able to travel by air.
