MaryWDW's planning journal....UPDATED 6/10!!!

Okay, so it's been awhile since I've updated this, so I figured I'd post a few more things I've done - if for no other reason, to make me feel as though I've accomplished something! :goodvibes

First of all, I have booked Rev. Kevin Knox for our ceremony!!! This was one of my biggest concerns: finding someone who was available that I thought would be a good fit. I feel very relieved that I've got him confirmed! :thumbsup2

I met with my WP, Jennifer (LOVE her!) and did my $75 cake tasting - so worth it b/c I picked totally different flavors than I would have if I didn't taste them first. I'm having chocolate cake w/ white chocolate mousse filling. My "anniversary layer" will have chocolate cake w/ Bailey's mousse filling. :woohoo:

I have had a few conversations/e-mails w/ Rosie from Floral and have worked those details out. I'm not a big flower person, and I am sort of watching my budget (I'd like to save a few $ where I can so that I can have characters, if possible!) So for my bouquet I'm having black magic roses in the tussy mussy holder. It will be all roses with white stephanotis, with crystals in the center of the blooms. I will have 6 hidden mickeys in the bouquet. She sent me this pic, just so I can see the color of the black magic roses......
blackmagicDisneyaccents.jpg

It's a little bigger than what I'll have, and it isn't a tussy mussy, nor does it have stephanotis.....I'm sort of wondering why I bothered posting this pic!!!! They're pretty though!!! :lmao:
My sisters are my only BM's, so they will carry white petite rose bouquets with a hidden mickey on the stem ribbon.
DF will have a red rose boutonniere w/ stephanotis and my dad will have a white rose boutonniere.
My 2 nephews will be escorting me down the aisle. They will get boutonnieres like this pic, only in white w/ small carnations:
Mickeybout.jpg

How cute is it?!?!?!? A Mickey boutonniere! I know they'll get a kick out of it (I did anyway!). Rosie sent me that pic and I was so happy with it! I asked if she could do a larger one as a corsage for my mom with a bow on the top (like a Minnie) and she said sure! I know my mom will love that.

The ceremony is at SBP and I don't really want to spend much to decorate it, but I thought something might be nice. Rosie said that she can do swags like these, but we'll use red bows in the center as opposed to the floral arrangements that this pic shows:

I've also opted to put red rose petals on the unity candle table - just for color.
I've ordered the Mickey crystal Unity candle set from Rosie AND the Mickey purse!!! I can't wait to have that thing!

I set up my honeymoon photo shoot for the Monday after the wedding (the wedding is on a Friday) at 9 AM at the MK.

I bought (or I should say, my sister bought b/c my Wal-Mart down here didn't have them) these bubbles to use at the end of the ceremony rather than regular wedding bubbles. I was sort of ambivalent about doing bubbles or a petal toss, but when I saw these posted, I knew I needed them!!!!!!

I bought 5 of these (just the Mickey ones - they're all boys) from the Disney Store to give to the kids as favors at our post-ceremony dinner at 'Ohana:

I am planning on getting a few other things and putting it all in bagsfor each of them - I saw some cute "tiki" t-shirts at the Disney Store on sale for 4.99 each - I need to get their sizes and then I'm going back!!!!!

I just won the bid for this garter on eBay....I'm only getting the white one - not the black thing (not sure what I'd need it for, apparently it's an arm-band thing for the groom:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 )

That's pretty much it for now!!!!

Okay...why is it that some of these pics are HUGE and others are teeny tiny?????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

love the colour of your roses, and the mickey carnations, very cute! thats the first time I've seen anything like that and the Minnie idea for your mum is great!
I am also looking at the photo of SBP with swags with interest, I am also going to be a SBP bride, and I was adamant it didn't need any decorations, but now I'm not so sure....... (I can just see this wedding budget going up and up!!!)

You've done a fantastic job with your planning Mary! You are getting married a little over a month before me-- we are SBP @ 2:30 as well. I was like you as far as decorating SBP. I didn't want to, but I loved some of the photos Rosie sent. I LOVE the Mickey carnation. I'll have to talk to Rosie about having one for my nephew!

Have you gone to buy your dress yet? I love the one you originally selected! Congratulations!! Good luck with your planning! :)

I have bought the dress! It's the one I posted earlier. The same with the BM dresses - I've settled on that dress in the apple color. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! I figured I'd post the boutonniere b/c I thought others might be interested in getting them!
Actually, the swags w/ the bows aren't that bad, budget-wise - a little over $100 - more than the $0 I was planning on spending.....but oh well! ;)

YAY! It's about time! :rotfl:

I'm so in love with the little Mickey flowers!!!

Me too :) I can't wait to see my nephew's faces when they put them on!
After you asked if I had a planning journal the other day, I figured I'd better resurrect it with an update!!!

Okay...so I bought the tiki t-shirts!!! :thumbsup2 I have 5 kids coming to the wedding (my 2 nephews and 3 cousins = all boys, ages, 5, 8, 8, 11, 12) all are Disney regulars also so it should be easy to find Disney-things to put in a gift bag as their favors. I got these shirts at the Disney Store for $4.99 each. They fit into the 'Ohana thing pretty well!!
Here's Mickey!!!

tikimshirt.jpg

And for the youngest one, I got a Buzz shirt - he's his favorite....
tikibshirt.jpg

I'll be putting these and the previously posted tiki cups in a gift bag with some other stuff I haven't gotten yet. I'm trying to stick to a Disney and/or tiki theme....I'll probably get some Mickey lollipops or Goofy taffy....a pin or 2.....I've got time!

When I was up at WDW last month, I bought this picture:
signinpic.jpg

I'm going to get a wider mat for it and have it set up at SBP (hopefully) for each guest to "autograph" in lieu of using a guest book. Then I'll frame it and hang it in the house!

I purchased a new camera yesterday, so as you can see, I've been taking pics of everything!!!! :woohoo:

That's all I've got so far!:wave2:

Ooooh! I love your "guest book"!! Very fun idea! Glad you found a new camera...now where did your siggy pic go??? :)

Thank you! I figure w/ so few guests I don't need a whole book - and this is something we can look at forever!
I don't have a sig. pic....I guess I need to work on that :rolleyes1 I don't have very many pics of me and DF together to pick from. I will make it a point to find some or take some!!!!!

Everything looks great! I love the Mickey drink thingies for the kids after Ohana!
Thanks! I think they're too cute.....I just wish they were marked down a little more at the Disney Store!

The mickey boutinniere is so clever! Do you know how much they charge for it? :confused3

Thanks!

Hey fellow Jersey girl! (I'm from NJ, I've lived in FL for about 4 years now).
I forget exactly how much, I might have it written down at home....but I know it was around $12 or so....maybe $10.50?? It's certainly not much more than a regular boutonniere - and it's WAY cuter, IMO! :thumbsup2
When is your wedding??? If you're having an Intimate, you can always check w/ Rosie - she's VERY helpful!

Thanks for the info! My wedding is April 22, 2008 but I want it in the wedding pavilion so I have to wait until August to book which stinks! I am trying to get ideas together for now and I will certainly ask Rosie about this when the time comes!

PS- Where in NJ did you live? I'm in Bergen County but did live in Orlando for 2 years.

Don't worry, the 2 months will fly by before you know it!! Rosie is the best - she does the floral for all of the Intimates (and arranges photography, characters, etc.). She's so nice.
I grew up in Middlesex County, but I lived in Union County for a few years before I moved down here. I also lived in Clermont, FL for about 6 months..... we move around a little! ;)

Love the planning journal so far! I LOVE the Tiki things, they will be fantastic and go down a treat at 'Ohana! The Mickey boutonniere is so cute!!

Can't wait for more!

The Wedding....

The wedding is scheduled for November 9, 2007 at 2:30 PM at Sea Breeze Point. Our planner is Jennifer O'Leary - I've only spoken w/ her once, but she seems very nice!
I'm going to have my 2 sisters as my matron and maid of honor. I am thinking that my 2 nephews will escort me down the aisle - but I'd like to clear that w/ my parents first. I think it would be nicer if they could sit with the few guests we have and watch us walk down.
I am hoping to get reservations at 'Ohana for after the ceremony.....here is the little invitation I am sending out for the "post-wedding dinner":

I think it's absolutely adorable - BIG thanks to Amy from the DISigns board!!!!

At the end of this month, I'm heading up to NJ for my nephew's Communion. The day before, my mom and I are going to David's Bridal to purchase my dress.....I've already been to the one down here to try some on by myself, but my mother really wants to buy my dress, so we're going to go and I guess I'll try a few on, but this is the one I want:

dress.jpg

I realized after recently reading Maggie's TR that it's the same one.....excellent taste Maggimus!!! :thumbsup2

I've previously posted my favor idea, but here they are again....
coasters.jpg

It's a coaster set - each "puzzle piece" is a coaster, but when you put it together you get a Mickey trivet!!! I thought it was cute, and the price ($5.99/set) wasn't too bad either!!! I plan on wrapping them up (once I know what colors I'll be using) and I'm really hoping to find a Mickey ribbon to tie around it once it's wrapped....so far, no luck finding anything simple....just one that's too cartoon-y. (If that makes sense?)

I don't have any clue about the BM dresses, it's just my 2 sisters - but my one sister wants to wear a dress that she can use a "regular" bra with.....
I'm hoping that when I go up to NJ this month, we'll pick something out - and then I'll know what colors we'll be using! I do know that I'd like a tea-length dress for them....any suggestions????

That's pretty much it for now......I'm hoping to head up to WDW in May to do a cake tasting (my planner said I could do it, for a price of course ;) )....if/when I do, I'll be sure to post a mini-TR!!! ( I LOVE reading TR's, by the way!!!! I have the feeling that writing one will be just as fun)

Oh I love the Stitch Invite it's so cute!!!! Congratulations on your wedding!
