OK, I'm taking the plunge and starting this journal in hopes it helps me some!

I'm Maryann, I'm 32 (soon to be 33 this month - UGH) and I have become super unhealthy/obese the last couple of years. Life has taken some very unexpected twists and turns and I am ready to gain control for good. I'm a boredom, stress and social eater which is NOT a good combo.

My exercise program has been zilch the last couple years as well. I'm embarrassed to write this stuff, but figure might as well get it all out, right?! This last trip to Disney in July really hammered home the fact that I'm in horrible shape. I have no endurance anymore and it's really limiting my activities and happiness.

I'm short, only 5' so I really can't hide a lot of extra weight on my frame. I'm not quite to the point of disclosing my weight/inches on here, but it's safe to say I'm in plus size clothes and am NOT carrying this extra weight well. I have joint issues that are being aggravated by this as well and high blood pressure is a family issue so I really need to get control.

SO, here goes! I hope I can make this work this time and become a happier person!
 
Thought I'd post because this is a step for me. ;) I've been wanting to join the health club by me for a while, but it was kind of pricey. SO I've been using it as an excuse to put it off. :rolleyes1

I finally decided yesterday to suck it up so I went to the city recreation center to check it out. I was really surprised how nice it was, full gym, track, basketball and raquetball courts. A full year w/ unlimited use was only $75!!! (and the guy at the front was a serious hottie)

I'm pretty excited, I'm going for my first time tomorrow. They're offering a "Boot Camp" that starts next week and I'm thinking about joining. It's 2 days a week for 4 weeks, 6:45 am - 7:30 am and is designed as a "kick start". I'm just trying to get up the confidence that I can actually do it!

That's great that you were able to get a full year's membership at the rec for $75! :Pinkbounc The Boot Camp sounds like a great way to get started. You CAN do this Maryann! :cheer2: Your WISH friends will be cheering you on to VICTORY! :Pinkbounc

No exercise today, but I have done MUCH better w/ my eating the last few days. I haven't gotten to the point of writing everything down yet. I can definitely tell I'm eating better - especially at night. My tummy doesn't bother me in bed anymore and I don't have that bloated feeling.

I'm going to the Farmers Market tomorrow morning to stock up on fruits and veggies for the week. :dance3:
 

Hi, just want to wish you well.
I too am on the short side and need to loose allot of weight. You are right, you can't hide it when you are short. Keep writing in your journal. It really helps to stay on plan.
