My DD3 has fallen in love with Mary Poppins. Does anyone know if any of the theme park shops may have any Mary Poppins items? I was thinking about a kids version of the umbrella with the parrot. She'd love a white dress like hers, but I doubt that's in high demand so she's probably out of luck with that one.

If there is any MP merchandise, it would probably be in the UK pavilion in Epcot. You can meet Mary Poppins there and she often has her white and red dress on!

:debswalk:

Thanks...We'll definitely be checking out the UK pavilion.

Last year we caught Mary and Bert in Town Square at MK in the morning. It was before DD's love affair began with the movie and she was scared of Bert for whatever reason. Bless his heart, he finally won her over with some bubbles he was carrying along. Do they still make regularly appearances in the square?

Anyone else seen any merchandise at any other locations?

You might come across some Mary Poppins on Broadway merchandise. I know I've seen t-shirts, hats, etc.. in the park shops. The umbrella I believe is only sold at the theater on Broadway. It was $40 for an adult size, they didn't have childrens. It was beautiful!

I have seen many little girls in the parks with the white dress. I believe they're custom made and purchase from ebay. They're very detailed!

Mary Poppins and Bert are also found at 1900 Park Fare breakfast at the GF.

We saw her Nov at CRT for breakfast too. My DS5 asked her where were the children? She said they're out flying a kite with their father now stand up straight, don't slouch for the photograph! :rotfl2: She was a riot!!:rotfl:

You'll find her! She's around! Oh, we also saw her and Bert in Town Square near the Barber Shop in MK. Early morning, just as the park was opening.

We bought the child size umbrella when we saw the Broadway show last year for about $20 and I so wish that I had bought the adult size. I borrow dd's and get sooo many compliments. I hope it is available in the parks!

If you do Disney Movie Rewards, the umbrella is available as one of the items you can "purchase" with your reward points. I think it's just over 1,000 points.

Also, if you're willing to pay for it, customized (and from the looks of it, high-quality) children's Mary Poppins costumes can be purchased on eBay.

Unfortunately, there is very little Mary Poppins merchandise available in the parks. I asked a CM why there there weren't more MP-themed things available and was told it is because Disney has a very limited merchandising contract with the owners of the Mary Poppins name, something to do with it being a series of books before Disney made it a movie. So we likely won't ever see too many Mary Poppins things, despite its popularity and the 45th anniversary. :sad2:

When I went in Nov 2007 all I found was a book of the original stories(non-Disney) at the toy store in the UK at Epcot(still available there I believe). In Nov 2008 I found the book again, a couple pins and a really nice mug. I bought the mug at the Main Street Confectionery at MK, but I also saw it a few other stores in the other parks.

(picture from ebay) There are silhouettes of the chimney sweepers dancing on the rooftops on the other side

We bought a barbie type doll of MP one year at Downtown Disney. Do they still have those??

you can get Mary Poppins stuff for your Mr Potato Head at Once Upon A Toy including the Umbrella

I bought the mug pictured at WoD in DTD last month - I use it every day! I was 7 when MP first came out and it has been a fav of mine since then. I was so happy to find this!

My first ever trip to DW I bought a ceramic knick knack of mary holding an umbrella - in her costume that she arrives at the Bank household - my Grandma took me to this movie, so it was special for us both - at a garage sale she found the same size knick knack (ceramic) but in the chimney sweep costume!! :goodvibes

I was surprised that Mary gets to appear at Princess Meals - but there is NOTHING but a pin in the parks! (later the mug came out)

It makes sense that it has to do with copyright/licensing... well Disney got rights to Oswald back, maybe someday Mary can once again appear in the stores to take my money!!

Here's a really bad picture - you can see the Mary's behind the Santa Angels - Each trip I would come back with a knick knack - now I think of them as dust collectors!

My dd was also scared of Bert when we saw them at DL when dd was 3. I'm not sure why, he doesn't look particularly scary and he was the only character all week that she was afraid of. He tried to win her over by singing to her but she just put her hands over her ears so she couldn't hear him.
