Has anyone had their reception here? My planner just sent me a few pics of it and suggested it because I'm starting to question Ariel's. I like ballrooms but wanted something light and airy since it's an early wedding. This room has windows and looks pretty in the pictures.

Does anyone know if there is a dance floor? Any pics? Anyone used it before?

Thanks in advance! Any input would be wondeful!!! :goodvibes

hello
i did not have my wedding at marvin but i did hace my prereception at st kames hall and aptio which is the same thing as marvin except without the patio. i think it was very beautiful . it does not have the tall ceiling like the ballroom does but honestly i think it is very pretty and the window are so nice and the chandeliers are great.

That's actually what I had initially asked about but she said it was too small for my reception ( I want to have my reception in a room with windows, not just pre-reception). I actually asked about it because I saw your pictures somewhere and though they were beautiful! Thanks for sharing. :)

So they put down a dance floor if there's not one built in? Does it cost extra?

Thanks for the help!

thank you! i have to agree with the planer on not using it for the main reception. it is beautiful but i can see it feeling small during the reception. i wanted windows also so i felt it made for a good mix!
the dance floor from what i know. you do not get a bill for that i want to say it is part of the general location fee?!?
you can not tell it was put down but they do it because depending on the event they need it in diffrent places and such. it is big dont worry hehe
let me know if i can help with anything else. and good luck choosing location i cant wait to hear what yo choose

you know i was thinking .. (sorry i am a tlaker today) how may peiple are atending? i have seen ful receptions in that room and now that i think about it it looked nice.

We had our cocktail hour in Marvin Gardens. I wanted to St James so we could have the patio, but we had too many people. I also had a welcome dinner at Ariel's. Marvin Gardens is pretty, but I think Ariel's definitely has more of a light and airy feel to it.
For dance floors, I thnk they come as part of the DJ package. I'm not sure, but I think that is how ours worked.

We were planning on doing an ipod setup instead of DJ to save money...

now I'm starting to think I should just go with Ariel's!! Gosh I drive myself crazy! :headache:
