Hello everyone looking for some advice. Currently we have 2 studios at ssr 1/6-1/8 and a 2 bedroom room at AKL jambo from 1/9-1/14 booked but i am dreading the idea of split stay, as we are very active when at parks and never at room and really dont want to take hour or two out of day to switch resorts.Right now my 2 waitlists are for 1/6-18 at jambo and the other ay kindani is there anything i could do to help my chances or do i jist need to relax and wait it out. Any input would be helpful thanks

Have your bags sent over and go about your day, going back to the new resort when you're ready to. There's no need to take time out if you don't want to.

Actually, if you just spend the day at the parks you won't hardly spend any time on the switch. It's when you want to hang at a resort that it gets to be a bit pain.

In the morning you'll pack up and call or take your bags to Bell Service and ask them to transfer them to Jambo. You then hop on a bus to whatever park you are going to that day. Do online check in ahead of time (like when you do your SSR check in) and you'll get a text with the room number when it is ready at AKV. When you are done with the parks take the bus from the park you are at to AKV and go direct to your room. Call Bell Service and they'll bring up your bags.

So, a few dollars in tips to Bell Service and the time to drop off and get your bags and you're moved!

Disney makes it super simple to transfer resorts. We have done a split stay and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. We had everything mostly packed up the night before, just kept out the essentials to get ready in the morning. Arranged for bell services to pick up bags at 7:30am and we headed off to the parks for the day. We just went to the new resort at the end of the day. So really very little time was wasted.

thanks everyone feel better about split stay. What everyones opinion about the waitlist for a 2 bedroom coming through for 1/6-1/8 (marathon weekend) at animal kingdom jambo

Are you checking out on the 8th or the 9th? When you stay 1/6-1/8 and then 1/9 - 1/14, I get worried you don't have anything booked for the one night. But a two day waitlist for a two bedroom might take a while to come through, but you might be lucky.

With Jambo being all lock-offs that will make it more difficult.

It's been a few years but for the 2011 race we decided to sign up in October (when you could still do that) and couldn't get 1 night at AKV. kept checking but waitlist never came trough. ended up paying cash for a regular room because we couldn't even get a studio. So even though you have a split stay, it's better than the $500 we paid for a studio for one night (and had to move our stuff of course).
