Marthon still open?

I logged in today to register my two girls for the kids races and am able to register for the marathon. The first screen show sold out, but when I click register - it lets me proceed all the way to check out for the Marathon. Did more spots open up?
I am hoping this happens for the 1/2.

I think it a fluke as you have to go through the Kid's Races door to get to the page where you see the radio button for the marathon. That being said, the link works and I got all the way to the CC info before I bailed. Nice detective work.

Errr. Holy crap. I put in my credit card info. It went through and I got confirmation from Active. I should not have done this because now for the next 3 months I'll be wondering if I'm going to show up at WDW and I won't truly be registered. We'll see when my credit card statement shows.

Just today I was mulling over whether I should walk a marathon and that's how I found these boards. I've jogged some half marathons, and I actually have a half next week so I can keep going into marathon training so I know I have enough time to train but still... it's going to be my first. I'm terrified.

Well cool! I just love back doors and sneaky ways in. If it holds up, then start training! Sounds like you have a base to begin marathon training. Disney was my first full, too. Yes, it's scary to sign up for the first one. But you'll have lots of company.

Call your cc company up and ask about this charge. Call them tomorrow because by then it will show up on their system. If they don't see it, then try them the next day and the day after that...instead of waiting for the next statement. I would want to know NOW if I am in it or not.

Actually, if one has the confirmation it really is not all that urgent. I would give the systems time to give one another a handshake or a few days to align. I would check in in a couple weeks to make sure; something that can be accomplished on line. The confirmation is the 'golden ticket' along with the CC receipt will guarantee the entry at this point.

You can still register for the marathon through a travel provider.
